Subang Regency is the third rice production center in West Java. Rice farming has become the main activity and hereditary in the District Patokbeusi. However, in 2016, Patokbeusi sub-district decreased rice productivity by 1.4 tons/ha. In this study aims to analyze the technical efficiency level of rice farming, and to knew the factors that affect farm productivity. This research was conducted in Tambakjati Village, Patokbeusi Subdistrict, Subang Regency, West Java. Data collection technique was conducted by survey with sampling method to rice farmer, which amounted to 55 people. The design of this studied is quantitative to express the effect of production factors on farming productivity. This research method used analysis of Cobb-douglas production function with stockastic frontier approach to knew the level of technical efficiency. The results showed that the average technical efficiency level of rice farming is 0,037. It means that rice farming in Tambakjati Village has not been efficient in using input production yet, so its use should be added. Production factors that have significant effect (? = 5%) on farming productivity are land, labour, seed, urea, and SP-36.Keywords: Rice farming, technical efficiency, stockastic frontier

Cattle and beef commodities have become a political commodity because the increase in beef prices has been responded significantly by both legislative and executive institutions. West Java became one of the provinces categorized as the area of beef consumption because the needs of cattle and beef cannot be supplied by local cattle in West Java. Lack of beef cattle is supplied from outside the province or abroad. This study aims to see the amount of cattle and beef cattle production to West Java, the number of cattle and beef cattle needs in West Java, as well as the balance between supply and demand of beef and beef cattle in West Java. This research used quantitative method with secondary data as its base of analysis. The results showed that the number of cattle production calculated from the number of cattle population, the production of calf, and the amount of imported cattle from outside the province or abroad. In 2015, the number of West Java cattle population amounted to 425,486 heads, 60,990 calves, and 219,226 heads of imported cattle. The amount of beef cattle production can reach 75,477,941 kg. The total requirement of cattle and beef cattle in West Java was 408,881 heads and 84,733,150 kg. Based on data of supply and requirement of beef cattle could be calculated balance of cattle beef in West Java. The balance of beef cattle in West Java had a deficit meat during 2011-2015. The research was conducted by using literature study method. The data used in the form of secondary data obtained through literature review related to this research. The data obtained then analyzed descriptively to describe the performance of Sentul chicken farm in Ciamis Regency. Research shows that Sentul chicken is the original chicken of Ciamis Regency which has an advantage in body weight growth and egg production so it has the potential to be developed in an effort to increase the income of farmers.Keywords: Performance, Sentul Chicken, Ciamis District

Subang Regency is the third rice production center in West Java. Be as a rice production center did not make the resident of Subang Regency to food security. According to production and industry data West Java Province in (2017), Subang Regency received rastra that reached 112.891 KPM. Rastra is one of the instruments to reduce the problem of poverty and food insecurity. This research purposes are to analyze the household characteristic and proportion of household expenditure of rice farmers. This research was conducted in Patimban Village, Pusakanagara Subdistrict, Subang Regency, West Java. The data collecting technique was conducted by the questionnaire with 51 household of rice farmers responden who received rastra using by Simple Random Sampling. The method of this research used by survey with statistic descriptive analyze to know characteristic and proportion of household expenditure of rice farmer by BPS (2017) consisting of 14 indicators of food and 6 indicators of non-food. The result show characteristic of the household rice farmers: the average productive age (92%), the education level is elementary school (53%), the status of land as tillers (51%), the average of the land area is 0.75ha, total of dependant family 3-4 peoples (70%), income per month is IDR 3.578.275,00. The proportion of average expenditure per month of household of rice farmer is Rp 2.794.891,00 that consist of Rp 1.667.324,00 for food expenditure and Rp 1.127.567,00 for non-food expenditure.Keywords: Rice, food security, household of farmer, proportion, expenditure

The study was conducted with the aim to analyze the economic development of Ciamis District based on livestock sector. The data used are secondary data in the form of population of 7 livestock commodities from 26 subdistricts in Ciamis Distict. The data were analyzed quantitative descriptive by using Location Quotient (LQ) analysis. The results showed that some subdistricts in Ciamis District were the base areas for beef cattle, sheep, goats, domestic poultry, laying chicken, broiler and duck.Keywords: Economic development, LQ, Commodities, Livestock

The purpose of this research is to know: (1) Income of coconut sugar agroindustry and its influencing factors, and (2) Productivity achieved in coconut sugar agroindustry and its influencing factors. The research was conducted by using survey method on 100 coconut sugar agroindustries in Pangandaran District. Coconut sugar agroindustry income is approached by using income analysis, while productivity is approximated by using total factor productivity. Factors affecting income and productivity were analyzed by using multiple regression equation. The results showed: (1) The total cost of coconut sugar agroindustry in Pangandaran Regency was Rp 85,135.39, Rp 113,232.00 in revenue, and Rp 28,096.61 in income. Total production, capital, education, credit, and extension have significant effect to coconut sugar agroindustry income, and (2) Total factor productivity achieved at coconut sugar agroindustry in Pangandaran District ranged from 0.60 to 3.12, with an average of 1.52. Production costs, education, experience, family size, credit, and extension have a significant effect on the productivity achieved in coconut sugar agroindustry.Keywords: Coconut Sugar, Income, Total Factor Productivity

The success of farming implemented will not be separated from institutional role of agribusiness. If the role is not yet optimal then commodity agribusiness development will be hampered. This study aims to determine the satisfaction of farmers on the institutional performance of agribusiness mendong. The research was conducted by using survey method in Manonjaya Sub district, Tasikmalaya Regency. The sample used is 25 farmers mendong, sampling using simple random sampling. To know the institutional performance of agribusiness used Importance Performance Analysis (IPA), while to see farmer satisfaction on institutional performance use Consumer Satisfaction Index (CSI). The result of the research shows that for the agribusiness institution performance, the farmers are satisfied with the kiosks of production facilities, collectors / dealers, artisans, farmers, extensionists and universities that perform well in performing the institutional function of agribusiness in Mendong farming. Priority to improve the institutional function lies in the existence of cooperatives, purchase requirements mendong, selling prices mendong, farmers group as a production unit and provider of production facilities and training by information and technology institutions. As for institutional performance shows that institutional agribusiness mendong still need to be improved again in order to be able to face challenge of competition with strengthening of farmer independence through improvement of function farmers group as production unit and procurement of production means so that there is increase of added value and exchange rate from its farming activity by not apart from training application of technological innovation from related institutions.Keywords: Institutional, Agribusiness, Interest, Performance, Satisfaction

Commodities of food crops that have an important role for Indonesian people except rice is cassava. Cassava can be utilized into a variety of processed products and become one of the profitable business opportunities. Abbas Sawargi is the largest business in Bandung area that process cassava into peuyeum. Peuyeum is a food product of cassava fermentation with yeast and it is one of traditional food from West Java. This study aims to determine the business model on business Peuyeum Abbas Sawargi. This research is used qualitative design with case study technique. The primary data were obtained from the owner and manager of Peuyeum Abbass Sawargi. Data analysis using Business Model Canvas. The description of business model is obtained through business design process with storytelling technique, visual thinking, and prototyping. The result of the research shows that there is a building block which is the main thing in the formation of Peuyeum Abbas Sawargi business is by looking at Key Resources that already exist, such as using cassava that has been planted so that it can be used as business opportunity. There are several obstacles in business of Peueyum Abbas Sawargi on Key Activity block especially in the promotion, marketing and administration.Keywords : Processed Cassava, Peuyeum, Business Model Canvas.

As one of the largest mango producers in the world, there are still problems faced by farmers in terms of product quality and productivity. The quantity and quality of mango produced by farmers is influenced by the behavior of mango farmers in their farming activities. This research were aimed to analyze: 1) farmers perception of mango farming in Cirebon Regency; 2) behavior of farmers in mango farming in Cirebon Regency; 3) Factors related to farmer behavior in mango farming in Cirebon Regency. The research was conducted by survey-explanatory method. Respondents in this study were 130 mango farmers who were taken at random by multi-stage random sampling technique. Descriptive statistical analysis and Spearman rank correlation analysis were used to answer the research objectives. The result of analysis showed that most farmers have not applied fertilization technique, the use of growth regulators and pest management as recommended. Price stability was a factor associated with farmer behavior in various activities of his farming. Efforts were needed to ensure price stability received by farmers so that farmers are more motivated to improve productivity and yield quality.Keywords: mango, behavior, farmers, farming

Agricultural development since the last two decades has been mainstreamed to a more environmentally friendly perspective. Cisondari is a village known for applying environmentally friendly practices in their agriculture. In this globalization era, urbanization is inevitable, especially for rural youths. This situation has impacted agricultural workforce structure in the rural area, threatening its future agriculture. However, Cisondari shows an anomaly condition. Cisondari’s agricultural development is highly influenced by the active presence of rural youths. This study aims to identify the determinants of the rural youths’ participation in Cisondari’s agricultural development. The study applies quantitative methods through descriptive statistics analysis. Data were gathered by structured interviews to respondents selected by simple random sampling technique. The results show that the determinants of youths staying in the village are motivation, innovation, and environmental factors. The young farmers are involved in environmentally friendly agricultural practices in many phases ranged from planning, conducting, monitoring, to evaluation.
