Abstract

Access to social media has become a vital need around the world, especially for the younger generation. The Instagram platform is one of the most popular social media in Indonesia and is widely used by high school students. Therefore, the leadership of An Nizam Islamic High School (SMAI) Medan issued a directive for students to wisely use social media, especially Instagram and appealed to students to promote activities carried out at school with the aim of promoting the good name of the school institution, but still upholding Islamic values. Using content analysis of 33 posts by the students of An Nizam Islamic High School on Instagram during the January-March 2022 period, it was found that most of the students' posts were in accordance with the appeal of the SMAI An Nizam leadership. Most postings also use a soft-sell approach which according to the literature is more effective in marketing through social media. The significance of this study lies on the illustration of how social media can be used to Islamic compliance marketing content.

Abstract

Diversification of financing in Islamic banking is a strategy to improve performance. However, can the diversification of financing carried out by Islamic banks increase profitability? And is financing diversification able to reduce financing risks? The study wanted to prove these two theories by using data from the Islamic Banking Report for the 2016-2021 Period using the HHI indicator to diversify financing. Three categories of financing diversification are contract-based, financing-based, and economic sector-based. Profitability in the study was measured using the ROA ratio and the risk of bad debts with the NPF ratio. The result of this study is that the diversification of contract-based financing affects ROA in a negative direction and has a positive effect on NPF. On the other hand, financing diversification based on the use of financing does not affect increasing profitability and has a positive impact on the risk of bad debts. Meanwhile, sector-based financing diversification has a significant effect on increasing profitability and has a significant negative impact on reducing the risk of bad debts in Islamic banks.

Abstract

The financial performance of Islamic banks is strongly influenced by the bank's ability to disburse their funds. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of Islamic bank fundamentals in influencing financing. Islamic bank fundamentals consist of stability, size, profitability, equity, efficiency, and financing risk. This study uses quarterly data to examine 13 Islamic commercial banks from 2014 to 2020. The method used is static panel data regression with unbalanced panel data of 334 observations. The results show that the Z-score, assets, ROA, and NPF have a positive effect on the financing of Islamic commercial banks. Meanwhile, the CAR and income cost ratio has a negative effect on the financing of Islamic commercial banks. Furthermore, the economic slowdown because of Covid-19 has reduced Islamic commercial bank financing. These findings indicate that profit, bank size, and stability are the main Islamic bank fundamentals that significantly influence the amount of Islamic bank financing.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of financing risk, liquidity risk, and operational risk on the Islamicity performance index. We also set bank size as a control variable. The dummy variable is used as an influence on financing risk before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. Our data were analyzed using panel data regression analysis. Quantitative research in the form of financial statements of Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia for 2014-2021 was selected as our sample with a total of 69 observations. We found that, one of the three variables is significant. Financing risk has no effect on the profit sharing ratio, liquidity risk has an insignificant positive effect on the profit sharing ratio, and operational risk has a significant positive effect on the profit sharing ratio. This study can be used as a reference, evaluation, and source of improvement for Islamic banking in making the right decision to set loan prices, as well as applying good risk management methods.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relevance of the story of Prophet Musa AS learning to Khidr in surah Al-Kahf verses 60-82, associated with risk management theory. This descriptive analysis research uses literature sources from the book of interpretation, the book of qawaid fiqh and risk management. Through content analysis, this research concludes that Khidr's actions of destroying a boat, killing a small child and rebuilding a wall that almost collapsed are one of the stages of risk management, namely the response of choosing to take a smaller risk of loss to avoid a larger loss. Risk management is in line with the rule of fiqh "if you meet several harms, then you should choose to do the one with less harm".
