Abstract

One of the rules in Islam is not to consume or use anything that Islam forbids. This world is not only inhabited by people who are Muslims. Many religions and beliefs other than Islam do not forbid some foods that Muslims consider unclean, such as pork and its derivatives or slaughtering meat without mentioning the name of Allah. In addition, there is no prohibition for other religions to market their products in the Muslim environment. Therefore, Muslims need halal guarantees for the products they want to buy. The purpose of this research is to find out how the process of protecting Muslim consumers in Indonesia from products that are not halal. This research method is normative juridical with a qualitative approach. A literature review was carried out on laws and regulations, which were then analyzed descriptively. Secondary data from journals and websites is also a source of study. The study results show that government and non-government parties have shown severe concern in protecting halal product guarantees for Muslim consumers in this country by drafting halal assurance regulations in stages, starting from the labeling "no pork", voluntary halal labeling to the obligation of halal certification for business actors in this country

Abstract

Islam controls all aspects of human economic life, including production, distribution, and consumption—activities that are crucial for generating economic growth. According to an article by Abdul Mannan, this production paradigm establishes the idea that morality and profit are both important factors in economic welfare. This study is driven by moral responsibility disparities that are at odds with the idea of production and a need to examine how thinking relates to the SDGs agenda. In-depth analysis of this relevance is done using the characters' thinking. This study employs a qualitative methodology, a library research approach, and content analysis as the research tool. This investigation clarifies Mannan's theory of production. The findings of this study demonstrate that Mannan's ideas about Islamic production are highly pertinent to the SDGs, which can also promote moral responsibility in every aspect of production.

Abstract

Many parties have expressed concern about environmental sustainability in recent years, both on a national and international scale. Governments, regulators, companies and also people around the world understand the importance of being aware of environmental issues. As a business actor, the banking sector is a sector that has an implicit impact on the environment. The banking sector is one of the main sectors that provides financing for many industries and companies. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the banking sector to ensure that stakeholders who receive bank financing, in carrying out their business activities, do not have a negative or even damaging impact on the environment. In addition, the role of good corporate governance is critical to the performance of green banking itself. This study aims to see the effect of corporate governance on the disclosure of green banking in Islamic banking in Indonesia for the 2016-2019 period. The data used are secondary data by collecting information from bank annual reports and bank sustainability annual reports. Analysis method used common effect model. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to show a comparison of the soundness level of Islamic bank with conventional banks, namely Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional (BTPN), and Bank Danamon with a period of two years after the merger through the RGEC approach as measured by the financial ratio NPF/ NPL, FDR/LDR, ROA, and CAR. Quantitative methods are used to retrieve secondary data on financial ratios sourced from financial reports on the official website of OJK and related banks. Hypothesis testing was carried out using the One Way ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis Test. This study succeeded in showing that there is a significant difference in the soundness of banks two years after the merger in terms of the overall ratio. BSI excels in the FDR/LDR ratio, Danamon excels in the ROA and CAR ratios, and BTPN excels in the NPF/NPL ratio. BSI and Danamon showed healthy overall financial ratios and were considered capable of carrying out their intermediary function properly, while BTPN was considered less than optimal, due to one of the ratios, namely unhealthy liquidity. Mergers do not always have a positive impact on the soundness level of banks therefore it is hoped that the banks that are going to merge can take preventive steps and develop appropriate policies in order to maintain their soundness level.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Islamic banking financing on the Environmental Quality Index with the inflation moderating variable. The Moderation Panel Data Regression Analysis was used in this study with samples from 33 provinces in Indonesia in 2010-2019 using non-probability sampling. The fixed effect model was chosen as the best model, using the inflation moderating variable shows that the mining and quarrying sector; the transportation, warehousing and communication sectors have a negative relationship, meaning that inflation can be a moderating variable. As for the manufacturing sector; electricity, gas, air sector; development sector; the trade, restaurant and hotel sectors have a negative and insignificant relationship and the agriculture, fishery and forestry sectors have a positive and insignificant relationship, inflation is also not moderate because high or low inflation doesn’t give effect on high financing that sectors, the focus of Islamic banking is on the real sector that drives energy consumption. Therefore, this research can serve as input for the Islamic Financial Institutions in prioritizing several environmentally friendly sectors to support Indonesia's green taxonomy, namely the service sector, the construction sector, the electricity, air and gas sector, the mining sector which have a positive but insignificant relationship because the market share of Islamic banking is still small compared to conventional banking.
