Abstract

The identification of misconception in the Physics or Science learning all this time mostly used the two-tier or three-tier diagnostic test. There were several reasons why both test forms used, such as to make sure whether the students guessed the answers or understood the concepts. Besides, through the use of both tests the students' confidence in choosing the answers could be identified. However, there was no explanation or study on the most effective test to identify those misconceptions. The purpose of this study was to know the effect of the one-tier, two-tier and three-tier diagnostics test toward the students' answer pattern, confidence level, and understanding on the concept of anatomic nuclear. The respondents which were used in this survey research were 88 the students attending Atomic Nuclear course in Physics Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Syiah Kuala University. Some tests were consecutively given to the 88 respondents, the test participants could continue to the next test if they finished all questions in the previous test. The data collection used the instrument of basic Physics preconception test (Tes Pemahaman Konsep Fisika Inti/TPKFI) in the form of one-tier, two-tier and three-tier multiple choice with eight multiple choice items. The test was developed by researchers with difficulty index = 0.35, discrimination index = 0.31, validity= 0.35, and reliability= 0.90. The data analysis result showed that even though the students' answer patterns were the same for all types of diagnostic tests, there was a convincing change in the students' concept understanding and confidence between the two-tier and three-tier. From this research, it could be inferred that the identification of the students' misconception in the Science learning would be better (had high confidence), if the diagnostic test used was higher, that was three-tier, four-tier, and thus on.

Abstract

The present study aimed to analysis the aftermath of science learning based on an integrated scientific approach to local potential, onion agriculture, towards the science process skill of 7th grade of junior high school students. The study was a quasi-experimental research with non-equivalent control group design. The object of this experiment was all classes in the 7th grade of Wedarijaksa 2 junior high school. Cluster random sampling was used to gather the sample, as the result, two over seven classes were randomly chosen. Data that be used in the research were the result of science process skill test. Data were analyzed using One-way Anova. The result shows that there is a significant impact of science learning based on scientific approach to local potential, in this case is onion agriculture, towards process science skill of the students.

Abstract

Nowadays, the lack of a facility is one of the main problems in physics education for developing countries. To solve the problem by use of the modern technology which develop around the world obviously, a teaching material in learning alternating current (AC) circuit as one of the most difficult theory in physics for secondary school students has been investigated using a soundcard oscilloscope with the laptop computer. Experiments for the electrical resonance in LCR circuits have been investigated using the sound card oscilloscope; experimental results were compared to that measured by the conventional oscilloscope system. As expected, the investigated soundcard oscilloscope experiments show a good performance; the magnitude of electrical current as a frequency response proves the effectiveness of the teaching material in physics education that shows kind of limited function of soundcard oscilloscope that utilizes as a benefit in a simple experiment. For the further work, the teacher can utilize and develop this software for the other teaching materials for example related to traditional music or traditional apparatus which tend to find around student’ home or school, so students can understand more deeply about the concept of alternating current in many cases and more interesting classes can be created.

Abstract

Abstrak:Pembelajaran Praktikum IPA Dasar bertujuan agar mahasiswa memiliki keterampilan melakukan penelitian. Latihan meneliti diterapkan untuk menjawab permasalahan minimnya kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menerapkan metode ilmiah. Penelitian bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mahasiswa dalam melakukan penelitian dengan menerapkan inquiry training atau latihan penelitian pada Matakuliah Praktikum IPA Dasar. Lama waktu penelitian 4 bulan dari Juli sampai dengan Oktober 2010. Dari penilaian laporan penelitian pada siklus kedua menunjukkan bahwa indikator keberhasilan penelitian telah tercapai karena 4 (50%) laporan penelitian telah mendapatkan nilai ≥ 75. Selain itu, berdasarkan angket sikap mahasiswa terhadap bentuk tindakan yang dipilih, bahwa dari 6 pernyataan yang secara langsung berkaitan dengan inquiry training lebih dari 85% mahasiswa bersikap positif yang berarti membantu mahasiswa menguasai keterampilan melakukan penelitian. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah diperoleh maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa keterampilan meneliti mahasiswa dapat ditingkatkan dengan menerapkan inquiry training.Abstract:The purpose of Basic Chemistry Experiment learning is to train the students in order they have ability of doing the research. Research training is implemented to solve the problem of students’ minimum ability of implementing the scientific method. So, this research is aimed to improve the students’ abilty of conducting the research by using inquiry training in Basic Chemistry Experiment subject. The research was conducted from July-October 2010 (4 months). Based on research report, in the second cycle it showed that indicator success has been able to be reached because 4 (50%) of research report got score ≥ 75. 6 statements from the questionnaire or 85% also showed positive response from the students about inquiry training. So it can be interpreted that the training can help the students to do the research. Based on the result, it can be concluded that inquiry training can help the students to improve their research ability.

Abstract

Abstrak:Pembelajaran IPA dengan pendekatan keterampilan proses inkuiri dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa perlu dilakukan. Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah dengan menggunakan proses inkuiri diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan motivasi belajar siswa karena model ini menekankan pada pemecahan masalah. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana motivasi dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran IPA Berbasis Masalah yang telah dikembangkan?. Pengumpulan data dengan memberikan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis, melakukan observasi dan memberikan angket motivasi. Subyek ujicoba penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII A dan VII C SMP Negeri 1 Ngadirejo Temanggung yang ditentukan secara random sampling dari tujuh kelas yang ada. Kelas VII C sebagai kelompok kontrol dan kelas VII A sebagai kelompok eksperimen. Hasil belajar kemampuan berpikir kritis kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan dari 61,53 menjadi 80,24. Uji signifikansi hasil belajar kognitif kelas eksperimen diperoleh nilai thitung = 11,76 dan harga ttabel = 1,69 karena thitung > ttabel maka dapat disimpulkan hasil belajar tes kemampuan berpikir kritis mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan. Motivasi belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran PBL mengalami peningkatan dari pre-test ke post-test. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran IPA Berbasis Masalah mampu meningkatkan motivasi dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.Abstract:Science learning by using skill process inquiry approach could increase critical thinking skill and increase learning motivation of the students need to be increased. Learning Model based on Problem by using inquiry process was expected to increase the critical thinking skill and learning motivation of the students because this model was emphasized on resolving problem. The problem in this research is how learning motivation and critical thinking of the students by using the science learning materials based on problem have been developed? The data was collected by giving critical thinking test, observation, and inquiry motivation. The subject of this research was grade VII A and C Students of SMPN 1 Ngadirejo Temanggung determined by using random sampling from the seven classes in that school. Grade VII C is control group and grade VII A is experimental group. The learning output of experimental group’s critical thinking skill is increasing from 61.53 to 80.24. Signification test of the cognitive learning output got the value of  = 11.76 and  = 1.69 because >  so it could be concluded that the output of critical thinking skill was improved significantly. The result of data analysis showed that science learning materials based on problem could increase motivation and critical thinking skill of the students, it was proved from the increasing of pre test and post test result.

Abstract

Abstrak:Kearifan lokal merupakan ciri khas suatu daerah tertentu yang memiliki nilai kebudayaan dan berkembang dalam lingkup lokal. Kearifan lokal sebagai salah satu hal yang perlu dikonservasi, artinya perlu dijaga, dilindungi, dan dilestarikan agar tidak punah. Salah satu upaya untuk menjaga kearifian lokal tersebut dengan cara memasukkan materi pendidikan berbasis kearifan lokal ke dalam kurikulum muatan lokal, misalnya di kecamatan Juwana yang terkenal sebagai sentral bandeng. Untuk melestarikan kearifan lokal di juwana tersebut, maka perlu diadakan muatan lokal pembudidayaan  bandeng  juwana berbasis kearifan lokal. Hal ini perlu dilakukan agar dapat menumbuhkan sikap konservasi pada siswa.Abstract:Local wisdom is one of the characteristics of a district that has cultural value and develops in a local area. Local wisdom needs to be protected and preserved in order not to get extinct. One of efforts to preserve it is by putting the material based on local wisdom in the local content curriculum, for example discussing that one of districts in Jepara, Juwana, is famous as milk fish producer. To preserve the local wisdom in Juwana, the local content curriculum needs to put the content of Juwana milk fish cultivation based on local wisdom. This content needs to be provided to raise conservation awareness for students.

Abstract

Abstrak:Agama dan sains selalu berjalan beriringan, dimana perkembangan keduanya didukung satu sama lain. Banyak penelitian-penelitian sains yang secara langsung ataupun tidak membenarkan teori-teori agama. Untuk mempelajari sains membutuhkan hal yang bersifat empiris agar konsep sains bisa tergambar dan terekam dalam memori anak. Agar mudah dalam memahami konsep-konsep sains bisa menggunakan suatu alat peraga IPA, misalnya alat peraga bencet untuk memahami keterkaitan rotasi bumi dengan jam istiwa’. Jam istiwa’ merupakan jam yang memanfaatkan bayangan suatu benda saat matahari bersinar  pada siang hari. Jam istiwa’ akan menunjukkan waktu yang berbeda pada setiap daerah yang berbeda dan saat yang berbeda. Begitu pula dengan waktu zuhur dan asar yang diketahui dengan memendek dan memanjangnya bayangan akibat perjalanan semu harian matahari dari timur menuju barat. Terjadinya siang, gerak semu harian matahari dan perbedaan waktu merupakan beberapa akibat rotasi bumi yang digunakan untuk mengetahui jam istiwa’ dan waktu zuhur asar. Bencet dapat dibuat oleh siapapun karena cara pembuatannya mudah dan bahan-bahan yang mudah diperoleh, jadi cocok untuk membantu dalam memahami konsep sains sekaligus agama. Tetapi bencet hanya bisa digunakan dalam memahami akibat rotasi bumi yang berkaitan dengan sinar matahari, jadi tidak bisa untuk memahami akibat rotasi bumi yang lain. Maka dari itu, perlu untuk mengembangkan bencet agar dapat digunakan untuk memahami materi yang lebih luas.Abstract:Religion and science always go together, where development both supported each other. While, a lot of scientific studies directly or indirectly justify the religion theories. To learn science it needs empirical concept that can be imagined and recorded by the students. One of ways to comprehend science concept easier is using science learning aid such as bencet. Bencet is used to help students understand the connection between earth rotation and sundial clock. Sundial clock is a clock that uses an object’s shadow when the sun shines in the day. Sundial clock will show different time in every area, as well as zuhr and asr time that are defined by shorten and prolonged of shadow due to the sun’s apparent daily movement from east to west. Noon-night phenomenon, the sun’s apparent daily movement, and time difference are the effect of earth rotation that is used by sundial clock to identify zuhr and asr time. Bencet can be made by everyone, it is easy to make because it can be made by using simple materials and used to help students to comprehend religion and science concept. But, bencet can be only used to help students to comprehend the effect of earth rotation related to the sun, so bencet needs to be developed to help students to comprehend another material.

Abstract

Abstrak:Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dalam membuat rangkaian listrik 3 in 1 pada siswa kelas VI Madrasah Ibtida’iyah  Mu’abbidin Sukorejo Tahun Pelajaran 2011 / 2012. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai tanggal 01 hingga 30 April 2012 pada semester genap. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Subyek penelitian berjumlah 22 siswa (9 putra dan 13 putri) yang merupakan siswa kelas VI Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah (MI) Muabbidin Sukorejo Kecamatan Guntur Kabupaten Demak. Data diperoleh dari hasil ulangan harian, pekerjaan rumah (PR) dan wawancara dengan guru wali kelas. Penelitian menggunakan empat tahapan siklus yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Keaktifan siswa dalam membuat rangkaian listrik 3 in 1 melalui pemanfaatan kertas bekas bungkus rokok mengalami peningkatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  keaktifan siswa meningkat, siklus I meningkat sebesar 49%, kemudian diperbaiki dalam siklus II sehingga keaktifan siswa meningkat menjadi 95 %.Abstract:The purpose of this research is to improve students’ activity of making 3 in 1 electrical circuit for VI grade students of Madrasah Ibtida’iyah Mu’abbidin Sukorejo academic year 2011/2012. This research was conducted on 1-30 April 2012 in the even semester. This is classroom action research with using 22 students (9 boys and 13 girls) as research subject. The data was collected from daily exam, homework, and teacher’s interview result. This research consisted of four cycles, they are planning, execution, observation, and reflection. The research result showed that there was an improvement of students’ activity of making 3 in 1 electrical circuit from waste paper cigarette packs. In the first cycle the students’ activity improved 49%, then it was improve in the second cycle it improved 95%.

Abstract

Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh penerapan pendekatan SAVI bervisi SETS terhadap kompetensi siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Bawang pada pokok materi reaksi redoks. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas X SMAN Negeri 1 Bawang. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Penelitian dilakukan dengan memberikan perlakuan berupa penerapan metode pembelajaran pendekatan SAVI bervisi SETS dilanjutkan dengan post test. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh rata-rata nilai post test kelas eksperimen 79 dan kelas kontrol 73. Nilai post-test kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol berdistribusi normal dan mempunyai varians yang sama, sedangkan pada uji perbedaan dua rata-rata thitung (3,63) > ttabel (1,99) yang berarti rata-rata hasil belajar kognitif kelas eksperimen lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol. Uji hipotesis menggunakan koefisien korelasi biserial dan koefisien determinasi menunjukkan bahwa metode pembelajaran dengan pendekatan SAVI bervisi SETS berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada pokok materi reaksi redoks. Dari hasil analisis diperoleh rb 0,52 dengan besarnya kontribusi 27%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh metode dengan pendekatan SAVI bervisi SETS terhadap kompetensi siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Bawang pada pokok materi reaksi redoks, yang ditunjukkan  dengan  koefisien  korelasi (rb) sebesar 0,52 dengan pengaruh 27 %.Abstract:This research aim to know the existence of influence applying SAVI approach SETS vision to  class X SMAN 1 Bawang student competence at the subject redoks reaction. This population research is all class X of SMAN Bawang. Sampling technique used is purposive sampling. Research conducted by giving treatment in the form of applying of method study SAVI approach SETS vision continued with test post. Pursuant to result of research, obtained by mean assess post test experiment class 79 and control class 73. value of Post-Test experiment class and control class have normal distribution and have  same varians, while difference test two mean of tcount ( 3,63) > ttable ( 1,99) meaning mean result of learning is cognate of experiment class is better than control class. Hypothesis test use correlation coefficient of biserial coefficient and of determinasi indicate that study method with SAVI approach SETS vision have an effect on to result learn student at the subject redoks reaction. From result of analysis obtained  rb 0,52 with level of contribution 27%. Pursuant to result of research can be concluded that there is influence of method with SAVI approach SETS vision to student competence of  class X SMAN  1 Bawang at the subject reaction of redoks, posed with correlation coefficient (rb) equal to 0,52 with influence 27 %.

Abstract

Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kualitas belajar siswa pada pembelajaran materi sistem pernapasan manusia dengan menggunakan alat peraga di SMP kelas VIII. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian pre-eksperimental menggunakan desain One-shot case study. Sampel yang digunakan adalah kelas VIII B dan VIII C yang diambil secara acak. Kedua kelas tersebut sebagai kelas eksperimen yaitu kelas yang pembelajarannya menggunakan alat peraga sistem pernapasan manusia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keaktifan siswa termasuk kategori sangat aktif yaitu sebesar 93%. Secara klasikal ketuntasan belajar siswa termasuk dalam kriteria sangat baik yakni sebesar 89,58% serta tanggapan siswa  selama proses pembelajaran termasuk kriteria sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dan pembahasan, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan alat peraga sistem pernapasan manusia dapat mengoptimalkan kualitas belajar siswa kelas VIII di SMP N 3 Kandangan.Abstract:This aim of this research is to know how the quality of student learning in learning process of human respiratory system meterial that use visual aids in eightth grade student of SMP. This research used pre-experimental design using One-shot case study. The sample classes are VIII B and VIII C that were choosen using random sampling technique. For treatment, both classes used human respiratory visual aids. The results showed the student activities included in very active criteria that are 93%. Students classical completeness included in very good criteria that are 89.58% and students responses during the learning process included in very well criteria. Based on the analysis and research, it can be concluded that the use of the human respiratory system visual aids can optimize the quality of student learning in SMP N 3 Kandangan.
