The Dinamika Teknik Mesin is a peer-reviewed academic journal which publishes originally research papers or simulation/computational articles in all aspect of Mechanical Engineering such as energy conversion, materials, design and production/ manufacturing. The Dinamika Teknik Mesin publishes in two issues per volume annually appearing in June and December. Due to administrative constraints, then starting in January 2018, the Dinamika Teknik Mesin publishes the volume and issue in January and July. However, starting in 2020, the Dinamika Teknik Mesin publishes issues in April and October due to the new administration.

Abstract

Anaerobic digestion process of cow dung was observed over 30 days with addition of effective microorganism – 4 in regard to improve biogas volume production. Temperature for biogas production was kept constant and was conducted at mesophilic mode. It was found that EM-4 addition was effective to increase the biogas yields production. The improvement in biogas volume was recorded as high as 87.8% which was achieved in 10% v/v EM-4 addition. However, the solution concentration should be limited in certain amount. By experimentally work, the results showed that adding more EM-4 into digestate resulted in reduction of biogas volume gradually. The most influential factor of the result may be attributed by the alteration of digestate pH from netral to more acidic. This acidic condition hampered microorganism to do anaerobic process well.

Abstract

This study intended to analyze the feasibility of the use of the Power Plant (PLTD) of Ampenan using the break even point (BEP) and sensitivity analysis. That there are several alternatives that can be taken are: first, if the use of the selling price to the public's ability to     Rp. 800 per kWh and a subsidy of Rp. 29.758.612.278 per month, then power plant will have a turnover in the  month to 12 to earn a revenue of Rp. 159.148.857.478. Secondly, if the use of the selling price to Rp. 900 per kWh and a subsidy of Rp. 28.100.809.978 per month, then power plant  will have a turnover in the month to 12  to earn a revenue of Rp. 179.042.464.663. Thirdly, if the use of the selling price to Rp. 1000 per kWh and a subsidy of Rp. 26.443.007.678 per month, then power plant will have a turnover in the month to 12 to earn a revenue of        Rp. 199.936.071.847. Then the results of research using sensitivity analysis to changes in the initial investment is known that the increase in initial investment 600,83% below power plant  is still feasible to operate.. But the power plant  would not be feasible to operate when the increase 600,83% above the initial investment.Furthermore the sensitivity analysis to changes in income are known to decrease in revenue of less than 85,73% of power plant is still worth operating.  But if the decline in revenue was down more than 85,73% power plant operation is not feasible.

Abstract

Polyester, epoxy and polyurethane composites are widely used for the matrix. The use of composite materials in the manufacturing industry as well as many studies of composites by utilizing plastic powder and the lack of studies directly comparing the tensile strength and bending properties of composite plastic powder to the treatment of the same fiber. The purpose of this study was to determine the tensile and bending strength of the composite material of polyester, epoxy, and polyurethane with reinforcing plastic powder by varying the volume fraction. In this study, the material used is plastic powder, with a size of 8 mm and the preparation of chopped random fibers, with a fiber volume fraction (0% / 100%, 5% / 95%, 10% / 90%, 20% / 80%, 30 % / 70%, 40% / 60, 50% / 50%, 60% / 40%, and 70% / 30%), using polyester resin, epoxy, and polyurethane as matriknya. Comparison of epoxy resin and polyurethane that is one to one, while for polyester using the catalyst of 2%. Tensile testing with ASTM D 3039, and bending test were conducted with ASTM D 790. The results of tensile testing tensile strength values obtained by variation of the highest volume fraction of 0% is owned by a composite plastic powder with 100% polyester resin with a value of 35.22 MPa, followed by a variation of the volume fraction of the composite with 0% plastic powder with 100% epoxy resin with the strength values pull of 6.40 MPa. While bending test results obtained the highest bending strength values held by the variation of volume fraction of the composite 0% plastic powder with 100% polyester resin with a value of 66.985 MPa, then successively followed by the composite with the highest volume fraction variation possessed by 30% of composite powders plastic with 70% epoxy resin with a value of 42.078 MPa bending strength, for a volume fraction of 50% variation of plastic powder with 50% polyurethane resin to obtain the highest value of bending strength of 6.963 MPa.

Abstract

 Indonesia is one of the countries which has a largest pineaple plantation in Asia, that is more than 165.690 hektare besides Thailand, Filipina, and Malaysia. Pineaple is one of the plants which contains karbohidrat and sugar as well as corn, cassava, sugar palm, etc. Thus in this occasion the pineaple will be used as material for producing bioetanol cause besides its quantity is large, it’s potential to make bioetanol.            This research head for identify the efect of fermentation periode and distilation  temperature as independent variable to the specific gravity and heating value as dependent variable. In this research the fermentation periode used are 5, 7, and 9 days while distilation temperature are 60, 75, and 800C. Producing of this pineaple bioetanol is doing by fermentation proses. In producing this pineaple bioetanol each sample which mass is 1750 gr added with 75 gr crushed yeast or equal with 4,3 % mass of sample.              From the research it’s found that the alcohol content is increase with fermentation periode and decresing of distilation temperature. Specific gravity decrease with increasing of fermentation periode and decreasing of distilation temperature. Heating value is increase with increasing of fermentation periode and deacreasing of distilation temperature.

Abstract

Indonesia is known as an archipelago that has abundant marine resources, this should make Indonesia a wealthy and prosperous country. Unfortunately, these resources cannot be fully utilized because there is still a lack of support for technology and human resources in an effort to explore the existing marine resources. It is no wonder then many coastal communities are middle to lower living standards. Most of the fishermen have to pay people to help the process of shifting their boat, especially the fishermen on the steep coast so that it can reduce their revenue.This research aims to improve the operational productivity of fishermen on the steep coast by using an alternative concept, so that it reduces human labor as shifting assistant in the traditional shifting. Three alternative concepts has been designed to assist those shifting process, ie Tripod, Boat Train, and Boat Wheel. The designs was then selected to obtain the best concept. Concept selection was using the matrix assessment Analitycal Hierarchy Process (AHP) by assistance of data processing using Expert Choise 11 program furthermore method followed by using Pugh method to compare the boat shifting process between alternative concept and traditional shifting.Concept selection gives certain point for each concept, Tripod 0.3044 point, Boat Train 0.3998 point, and Boat Wheel 0.4385 point. It shows that boat wheel design selected as the best alternative concept. The comparison of total productivity between the best alternative concept and traditional shifting is 2.32 to 1.66. It means boat shifting process by using alternative concept design can be increase productivity counting 28%.

Abstract

The rising costs for the fossil fuel based energy and concern over the environment have caused a resurgence of interest in anaerobic treatment and subsequent use of the biogas produced during the treatment of organic waste as fuel.  Biogas from cattle dung has become a potential renewable energy source for both domestic and commercial usage especially in Lombok. Unfortunetly, due to the presence of carbon dioxide (CO2) and Hydrogen sulphide (H2S) in biogas, it has become extremely difficult to store and transport it effectively and has lower energy density.This paper presents the study in biogas purification by mean of absorbing the CO2 gas using the NaOH solution. In addition, the biogas production process used in 3 (three) kinds of cattle dung from horses dung, cows dung and buffaloes dung by the composition of 1 kg of manure to 1 Liter of water.                 The results show that generated the largest volume on the composition of C with average volume reached 72.419 liters, then the composition B reached 61.794 liters, and the lowest in the composition of A with an average volume of 51.478 liters. The highest power generated in the treatment composition A with 2.5 N NaOH solution at 108.5 watts and the lowest power generated by the composition of C without treatment of 25.67 Watts.

Abstract

Cultivation activities, both in the development of food crops, horticulture, livestock and plantations. Availability of water is a strategic factor. Specific areas adjacent to the water source or location are under the eyes water, water needs are less of a problem. However, the ground reality is not always flat; there is the hilly or bumpy. Land surface area is higher than the water source and the bumpy areas will have trouble getting a continuous supply of water. Therefore need to find an alternative to reduce the burden. One alternative is that hydram pump hydraulic work without using gasoline. Hydram pump was applied to a small debit them to raise water and drinking water needs of households. However, the use for irrigation in dry land agriculture that requires a large output flow is unknown. The method used in this research is to create models in the laboratory to simulate the independent variables of pressure (high falling) water flow while bound variables measured include debit and results of hydraulic pressure. The results of experiments that analyzed the correlation between independent variables and the variables are bound to get hydram pump efficiency. Pumps that were realized and tested in the laboratory have the following specifications: input = 1.5 inch diameter; output diameter = 0.5 inches; step on the valve piston waste = 5 mm; air tube diameter = 3 inches; air tube length = 24 cm ; material with galvanized pipe, construction of hydram pump consisting of the first arrangement of input - waste valves - compressor (ILK) and the second arrangement of input - compressor - waste valve (IKL). Pump of hydram with arrangement ILK has the ability to better performance when compared with the composition of IKL. Where pump of hydram with the composition of ILK has the best efficiency at 2.5 meters high waterfall with a debit enter 2.458 liters / sec discharge output capable of being lifted by a pump at 0087 liters / sec while the high lift or vertical height of the pump which is equal to 30 meters and efficiency pump of hydram which is equal to 13.6%.

Abstract

Now days, a company has been experiencing and facing a tight competitive siege. To be surviving within this competition, the company must be creative in developing new and robust ideas to improve their business competitiveness which differentiate them from the others. The product quality was the main issues among others. The quality of a product that offered to the consumers must be cheap and have met with consumer satisfaction. Exploring these ideas, current research has conducted with the main goal was investigating the quality of product produced on CNC Turning. The quality was calculated with a Statistical Process Control (SPC) analysis. Meanwhile, ductile iron workpieces size of 130 mm in length and 19 mm in diameter were manufactured for the samples. The data gathered including diameter, length, and thickness of the samples measured with Digital Vernier Caliper and Micrometer. Based on data observed, the result of experiment shows that the quality of sample products produced in single run (12 products) has met with basic standard requirement with which all samples dimension was lay inside the control limit (Upper and Lower Control Limit (UCL and LCL). It can be concluded that each variable still in process control and was ready for the automation.

Abstract

With  traditional fish drying process,  most possible can cause an unhealthy  working posture , such as a squatting action.   As a consequence , worker will suffer a  musculoskeletal disorders because of not  ergonomic tools and bad working posture. Without ergonomics  working  procedures was found that  the average of   musculoskeletal complaints after working is 52.25 ± 1.03. To solve this ccomplaints, a drying chamber based ergonomics design was built in order to reduce musculoskeletal disorders. Dimensions of the drying chamber were based on anthropometric data of fish craftsmen and the material of drying chamber was by the participatory method. Test was performed on 20 samples and the result showed that the mean rate of  musculoskeletal complaints after working is 38.30 ± 1.30. The ergonomic based design for drying camber application can reduce  the musculoskeletal complaints up to 26.7%.
