Abstract

Marine resources are very helpful to the economy of Indonesian people, one of which is fishing. The majority of the people who made the arrests were people who lived in coastal areas. In general, coastal communities have a culture that is oriented in harmony with nature so that the technological system utilizes natural resources is adaptive technology with coastal conditions. To meet the needs of his life, the fishing community tries to catch as many fish as possible, both working during the day and night, both using machine technology equipment and traditional equipment.Each region has a culture in fishing, such as the culture of catching anchoated fish using bagan. In Labuan Uki Village, Lolak District of Bolaang Mongondow Regency, some people have livelihoods in the form of fishing in the sea. They have their own culture in fishing, namely by using boat bagan. Bagan is a fishing device that uses nets and lights so that it can be used for light anglers. The process of making boat bagan using various types of materials including bamboo, bagan nets and motorized boats that are at once as a means of transportation at sea. When the anchoated season arrives, the number of fish will be abundant and fishermen will sell anchoated fish to the market and be sold also to the collectors, but because of the large number of fish so that the fish will not sell out and there will still be many left and the rest is dried.Keywords: fisherman, bagan, anchoated

Abstract

Indonesian culture although diverse but formed and influenced by other major cultures such as Chinese culture, Indian culture and Arab culture. China is part of the diversity of the Indonesian nation that existed long before independence, the presence of Chinese people in Indonesia seems to have been united and become an integral part of the life of the Indonesian nation that also has horizontal conflicts with indigenous people and there is discrimination against ethnic Chinese or Chinese. For people of Chinese descent born and raised in North Sulawesi, they live in a mix with local residents. Not a few who bear the name of the family Minahasa. In addition to the physical appearance and skin color that is similar to the citizens of Minahasa. The unique social system has supported them to blend in with the population in Manado, and with expertise in terms of trade has made them dominate the local to national economy. With great capital, Confucian teachings, native Chinese and crossbreed Chinese have played an important role as economic drivers in Manado. It is noted that ethnic Chinese who work as traders / business or plunge in politics and government.Likewise, their indigenous culture has been able to adapt to the local culture of Manado to add the diversity of cultures that develop in the city of Manado. Abstract

Customary marriage in various environments of Indonesian society is very different, this is due to differences in customs and forms carried out in each community environment that has its own ways of marriage. Customs related to marriage ceremonies, especially ceremonies after marriage are also carried out in some areas in North Maluku.The ceremony after the marriage contract in were Village of Weda Subdistrict called the fasugal ceremony (picking up the son-in-law). Fasugal ceremony is a follow-up process of the wedding ceremony carried out by the groom's family at the time of welcoming the arrival of the daughter-in-law.Departing from the philosophy of the gamrange community, which is the source of customs and reflects religious and cultural values in the social life of the community. The implementation of the basic value of fagogoru is a form of foothold glorifying the son-in-law carried out at the fasugal ceremony, as an embodiment of appreciation among fellow human beings.Cultural values in the implementation of fasugal ceremonies manifest a close sense of brotherhood for fellow human beings, in addition to maintaining local wisdom. Changes in life are inevitable. As a concrete step to face the many threats and influences of such rapid changing times on local culture, there must be synergy and good cooperation between the government, schools and communities, to preserve and maintain cultural values and customs at fasugal ceremoniesKeywords: marriage, local culture, changes

Abstract

The development of the tourism sector in North Maluku continues to be carried out in line with increasingly open transportation access. This is in the background by its enchanting natural conditions and natural coupled with a wealth of cultures and customs that are very diverse. Waka Beach located at the end of Sulabesi Island with the beauty of white sand that stretches wide along the beach makes it have its own uniqueness that makes tourists want to linger while on Waka Beach. The natural atmosphere that is still awake is characterized by trees that are still shady adding to the coastal beauty of Waka Beach, the underwater nature also offers its own beauty for every visitor who wants to dive there are interesting diving and snorkeling spots to explore.Factors that influence visitors to visit this Waka Beach tour is, the first is the internal factor or driving factor that comes in visitors themselves, visitors who come because they want to relax after finishing busy with work. Abstract

Traditional medicine is one of the treatments that has been passed down from generation to generation as a cultural heritage in the health sector to overcome various diseases. Traditional medicine utilizes existing local wisdom so that it is believed to have no side effects from the ingredients given, quite easy to find, easy to make ingredients and fairly cheap. Acupressure which is used to stimulate the nerves in the affected organ is very influential in the treatment process so that with traditional acupressure treatment the disease is handled from the outside and also inside so that the impact is felt better. The results showed that traditional acupressure treatment in Abepura not only uses traditional medicine (herb) but sometimes uses medical medicine because traditional acupressure treatment in Abepura adapts to the modern era where there is also a sense of security and trust in the community because of the perceived impact on traditional acupressure treatment and also the good behavior of the healer.Keyword : Traditional medicine, Acupressure, and Modern era

Abstract

The availability of local food Tidore during the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) has become a need that many citizens are looking for in an effort to maintain the cultural life of indigenous peoples in eastern Indonesia. Various local foods owned by Tidore nature that has food wealth such as sago, sweet potatoes, taro, cassava (kasbi) and various types of vegetables are the most reliable daily staples of the citizens.During the Covid-19 Pandemic there were symptoms that the shift in consumption of staple foods again switched from rice to sago caused by the food crisis, especially rice followed by the implementation of a policy of restricting access in and out of an area. The lack of rice imports that occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic made many people switch to eating sago which culturally has been a staple food for a long time in the islands of Tidore City. This makes it an increase and becomes an alternative to staple foods during pandemics.Efforts to disinging food to overcome the problem of dependence on one basic food only. For example, by processing yam into various forms that have a special taste and long shelf life. One of the processed forms of yam in North Maluku is cassava starch (sagu kasbi) or sago cake (sagu lempeng) model derived from cassava.Keywords: Sago, food, pandemic covid-19

Abstract

Traditional people in general are very familiar with the surrounding environment. The nature of humans as socio-cultural beings is understood ecologically as one of the interrelated environments. The view of indigenous peoples regarding humans as an integral part of nature, as well as responsible behavior, full of respect and care for the survival of life in the universe. Local wisdom as a traditional knowledge of the preservation of nature and the environment is seen as something very valuable and rich in benefits in human life.Sasi tradition is one form of customary ceremony carried out by the community that aims to limit and prohibit the taking, utilizing, and use of an item or plant that is in Sasi within a certain time, which must be obeyed and obeyed by the community collectively. The implementation of Sasi aims to maintain the quality and quantity of production as a whole. Since long ago Sasi in Fritu Village aims to protect garden products such as coconuts and marine products. Sasi carried out in Fritu Village is sea Sasi, and land sasi especially for coconut plants. The implementation of Sasi in Fritu Village was led by a village head and used to be customary but after the entry of Religion, it was switched to Sasi carried out by the Church.Keywords: local wisdom, environmental preservation, human ecology
