Abstract

The challenge of agricultural sector in Indonesia nowadays is about land ownership which affected farmer’s welfare. Farmers in aggregates are decreasing year by year, followed by decreasing farm land because of the land reform. Another story of farmer’s income affected the land ownership of the farmers. Most of them choose to sell their own land to the land lords because of the lower income. And the lack of regeneration because farmers children choose to have a job outside agriculture sector. This paper is research about the real condition of Farmers in Indonesia between three factor of land ownerships, land reform, and lack of regeneration. Our investigation to secondary data show our hypothetical judgment: there is declining amount of farmers in Indonesia in community level. Meanwhile, that phenomenon support by evidence that there is declining farmland in community level. This study can be considering for policy implication in agriculture reform in Indonesia.Keyword    :     land     ownership,    land     reform,     lack     of     farmer    regeneration, farmer’s welfare

Abstract

Globalization in economic has an impact on the massive movement of foreign direct (FDI) and indirect (Foriegn Private Investment / FPI) investments in developing countries in the world. By intensive margin government and authority in each country utilizes these conditions as development capital and technology transfer, while for extensive margin foreign investment are used to maintain a conducive relationship between investors and investment destination countries. Foreign investment is an important part of development especially for developing countries. For ASEAN 4 countries investment is very useful as a driver of the national economy, so the consideration of a stable investment climate and macroeconomic environment is important in policy formulation. The method used to analyze the relationship to the intensive and extensive margins of FDI and FPI in ASEAN 4 is the Panel Least Square (PLS) with annual panel data from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand from 2003 to 2015. The estimation results show that on extensive margins GDP show a positive and significant effect on FDI. While on the FPI model estimation, the three proxy variables (Index Perception Corruption (IPK), Inflation Rate (TI), and lending rate) used indicate a positive direction towards FPI on intensive and extensive margins, but only IPK variable that have positive and significant influence. This is indicated by probalitity value less than 5% (0.05) that is equal to (0.005).Keywords : Extensive Margin, Foreign Direct Investment, Foreign Private Investment, Intensive Margin, Panel Least Square.

Abstract

Indonesia's poverty rate in the last five years has always decreased annually to 10,64 percent (2017). However, this pattern is not followed by all provinces in Indonesia. Some provinces experience fluctuations every year. Even in 2017, poverty has risen in some provinces. This condition is influenced by some factors of both labor and economy. From the existing literature, there is little research on the effects of underemployment rate, informal workers and adjusted per capita spending on poverty in Indonesia. Therefore, this research is very important to do. This study aims to model the underemployment rate, informal workers and per capita expenditure on poverty using the panel data regression analysis of the 2015-2017 period. The result of the research shows that the best model is Random Effect Model (REM). The rate of underemployment has a positive and significant impact on poverty (level of confident 90 percent). In addition, per capita expenditures have negative and significant impact on poverty. The results of the study show that the government is expected to pay more attention to the indicator of the underemployment rate, because this variable has a largest influence(o,04 percent) on poverty compared to all variables. Keywords : labor, panel regression, underemployment, poverty, random effect model

Sustainable development is a multidimensional development paradigm that considers the interests of future generations in addition to meeting current needs. The linkages between economic, social and environmental aspects are manifested in a measure of fairness, comfort and sustainability. This study aims to analyze the implementation of sustainable development in East Java based on economic, social and environmental variables and know the most influential factors on the success of sustainable development using quadrant analysis based on Klassen Tipology and cluster analysis. The result of the research shows the formation of three cluster areas in East Java that are categorized into advanced regions, potential areas and disadvantaged areas. In general, development in East Java has led to sustainable development characterized by the development of economic development, increased social welfare and reduced social problems, and improved environmental conditions during the year 2011 to 2015.
