Abstract

Gapura is the integrated services for information system who can give information and service access to all users information systems brawijaya University. the Gapura Mobile is a mobile application who can give the information access with mobile device like smartphone and tablet. a service can be access with aplication comprise for College student, lecture and staff. for college student, they can use to see like biodata information, academic status, college fee, study plan, and study result and also college schedule. but there is a usability problem and that makes difficult to adaptation with new user. So it need to research with first testing to find the value of metric of learnability, efficiency, error using Usability testing and satisfaction using LEMtool- Measuring Emotions In visual Interface and the research was found 5 problems form 10 task scenario in tested. after first evaluation, the result form first test made as guide in improvement recommendation and based on interview result, obsetvation behvior, and guidelines. after improvement recommendation interface has done, then do the second evaluation. the result of second evaluation would be comparing between the first evaluation to observe the different before and after improvement recommendation in Gapura UB. the result after giving improvement recommendation design in application show improvement on Learnability metric from 82% become 97%, on Efficiency metric giving improvement from 0,08 goals/sec to 0,13 goals/sec, decrease on Error metirc from 15% to 2% and enhancement to Satisfaction metric from 62% to 94%.

Abstract

Tangerine (Keprok) is one of well known horticultural commodities products in Indonesia. Tangerine fruit quality is determined manually, so far. The tangerine's skin texture can be used as an indication of the tangerine image quality determination. This study implements the Haar Wavelet method to determine the quality of tangerines in standard and automatic ways. The processes carried out in this study are preprocessing, Haar Wavelet feature extraction, and classification of tangerine fruit images using the k-NN algorithm. Statistical calculations of mean, standard deviation, and skewness are used to represent the Haar Wavelet features. The result of the Haar Wavelet extraction process is an image of tangerine that has been classified into Grade Super, Grade A, or Grade B. The Haar Wavelet decomposition process in this study was carried out at level 1 and level 2. The test results showed that level 1 Haar Wavelet decomposition produces a higher accuracy than Level 2. The highest accuracy obtained is 90%.

Abstract

Wireless technology has begun to develop and connect with each other, so this is what makes a basis for the development of the Internet of Thing technology or abbreviated as IoT. There are several elements in helping the performance of IoT technology, one of which is in terms of communication. LoRa is a wireless transmission communication technology using Chirp Spread Spectrum (CSS) as a modulation technique of its delivery. LoRa uses Pure ALOHA as an access method for sending data where two or more nodes send data at the gateway without coordinating with each other, causing the risk of data collisions. In this study using the master-slave method to send data to avoid data collisions. Gateway node acts as a master whose job is to send data request messages to the sensor node. The sensor node acts as a slave whose duty is to send sensor data to the gateway node that acts as the master only if the master requests the sensor node specifically based on the slave ID that the sensor node has. Functionality and non-functional tests are carried out to test whether the system is operating properly. The smallest percentage of packet loss is experienced under test conditions at a distance of 50 meters where packet loss only occurs in the process of sending from sensor node 1 to the gateway, while the largest percentage of packet loss is experienced under test conditions at a distance of 200 meters on a 30 minute test duration of 8.99% . The smallest average delay test results are experienced in testing conditions at a distance of 200 meters with an average delay of up to 160.64 milliseconds, while the largest is experienced at a distance of 100 meters with an average delay of up to 405.67 milliseconds.

Abstract

There are many routing protocols used in the current network topology. EIGRP, IS-IS and OSPF are examples of routing protocols in a network topology. each of these routing protocols has different algorithm to communicate and also has different ways of working algorithms. Therefore, additional methods such as route redistribute are given so that different protocols can communicate in a topology. In this research, an analysis related to the route redistribute method to find which routing protocol has the best performance in the same network topology. This study uses the Graphical Network Simulator 3 or (GNS3) and uses a hierarchical topology. The scenario is to send an ICMP PING packet from source to destination to observe the round-trip time and convergence time. The results showed that each routing protocol can be run by the route redistribute method. The IS-IS protocol has a round-trip time of 531.4 milliseconds and a convergence time of 158.2 seconds that makes time is the lowest time compared to other protocols and proves that the ISIS protocol is able to work well on the route redistribute method.

Abstract

Water is the essential compound for all living things on this earth. Human needs fresh water for their daily activities. Because of the importance of water use, the quality of water must be maintained. Make a water monitoring system can be one of the ways to maintain water quality. The monitoring system can be done by using the Internet of Things (IoT) technology. In the application, it will be constructed by three main component systems such as Producer, Broker, and Consumer. In building the IoT network architecture communication protocols are needed between the nodes to exchange data. The protocol that is used in this research is the Advanced Message Queueing Protocol (AMQP) and WebSocket. The AMQP was chosen because the network used in this research was considered capable of suiting the needs of the AMQP protocol. WebSocket protocol used for means of data communication so the results of monitoring can be shown on a web page in real-time. According to the result of tests conducted indicate that the system is capable of real-time monitoring, it's based on delay value in data transfer obtained. By using this water quality monitoring system, it is hoped that later it will be able to monitor the quality of water in real-time via the web.

Abstract

PermataMobile X is an internet-based electronic banking service provided by PT Bank Permata Tbk (Permata Bank) for customers to access a transaction experience that is simple, fast, and reliable, easy to use and has a very complete transaction feature. Based on an interview with Mr. Bayu Ardhi Koencara as PermataMobile X Project Manager, and observations by researchers, there are still many usability issues in this application. This study was evaluated to measure the level of usability by using the Usability Testng Methid and The Usability Scale System thereby producing recommendations for improvement by measuring aspects of learning ability where the result is 68%. Calculation of these results are included in the category below the average., Aspects of effeciency of 0.01 goals / sec, the error aspect of 0.41. If the calculation results are compared with the standard errors that exist in each task that is 0.70 then the error is classified as below average. Satisfaction uses the System Usabilty Scale questionnaire to find out whether the user is satisfied with the system used which is filled by 20 active users and the results are on average 70.1. Participants of the test involved 5 users domiciled in Jakarta. Interviews were conducted to explore problems from the application so that they could be evaluated. Based on the results of usability testing and interviews found 4 problems. From these problems, recommendations for improvement were obtained according to usability guidelines

Abstract

Agricultural development can be done by forming an institution that functions as a forum for information and learning about agriculture to farmers, one of which is by forming farmer groups. But there are some farmer groups that are often abused. This condition has an impact on the development of farmer groups that tend to decline from year to year. Efforts to foster and empower these farmer groups must also be adjusted to technological progress and demands on the application of agricultural development programs. Therefore in this study the method used is the Implementation of the Fuzzy AHP (Analitycal Hierarchy Process) - COPRAS (Complex Proportional Assessment) Method. The Fuzzy AHP method is considered more accurate in weighting criteria than the AHP method. And the COPRAS method is more accurate in calculating alternative ranking because the evaluation of maximum and minimum criteria is done separately. Based on the results of the implementation of the AHP (Analitycal Hierarchy Process) - Copras (Complex Proportional Assessment) method for the recommendation to determine the best farmer group, it has an accuracy rate of 68% (using 25 data) and 48% (using 50 data). And having the same interpretation coefficient of correlation has a close to perfect relationship (ρ> 0.9). This shows that this method is able to help and make decisions.

Abstract

The number of students as well as various levels of ability and strengths in different aspects of behavior, academic values ​​and non-academic values, so that based on the conditions that emerge an effort to find out students have superior achievements. The selection of high achieving students in SMP Negeri 2 Bululawang tends to be use the academic scores of the nasional exam, because the decisions taken only use the academic scores of the national exam, so it is not fair to make high performance student decisions that are seen in one criterion. In carrying out a decision support system for determining these high achieving students using the Weighted Product (WP) and Simple Addictive Weighting (SAW) methods. This system uses several criteria used for the selection of high-achieving students including, the average report card grades from grade 7 to grade 9, school exam scores, attendance attendance values, and extracurricular grades. The test results obtained an accuracy of 40%, because the school only determines from one aspect only.

Abstract

E-Learning is instructions that are delivered through digital devices such as computer and mobile device that are provided to support learning. In the Faculty of Computer Science, Brawijaya University, e-learning has been used for learning activities. One of e-learning system that is being developed by Faculty of Computer Science is CodeManiac (CoMa). The exercises provided by CoMa is not adaptive to the mental condition of user. Stress has impact on the formation and retrieval of memories which have implication that stress can change the nature or quality of memories and can cause miss information. As a step to realizing an adaptable environment for CoMa, the first thing to do is to establish a physiological user monitoring system. Physiological signals can be used as features for user stress classification. Data from the monitoring system can be input for CoMa system as a basis for determining which exercise that will be given to user. The development process of system uses the waterfall method. The developed system produced 24 functional requirements and 2 non-functional requirements. Unit testing got 100% pass result and validation testing which have 33 test cases and got 100% pass result. Mobile application compatibility testing got result which is can run on Android Kitkat and Android Lollipop. Web application compatibility testing uses SortSite got no critical issue result. This system expected that can help CoMa for stress detection which can be used as a basis for determining exercise for users.

Abstract

Gapura UB is an academic portal mobile application to access academic information and services in the Brawijaya University campus environment. Based on the results of interviews with the developers, stated that the application has never been evaluated usability by testing usability to its users or conducted an inspection by an expert. Even though usability evaluation is an important element that makes it possible to add insight into usability problems in the application. This study aims to identify the usability problem of the application and compare the effectiveness of four evaluation methods used in this study: usability testing, interviews, surveys, and heuristic evaluation. Data is collected from users in the student category and expert evaluator. Details of the number of respondents used are usability testing (N = 10), interviews (N = 10), surveys (N = 110), and heuristic evaluation (N = 3). The four methods together identified a total of 44 usability problems: 45% through heuristic evaluation, 24% through surveys, 17% through interviews and 14% from usability testing, with a few similar findings. These problems are then categorized using Usability Taxonomy Problem (UPT) which divides the problem into 5 categories with details of 17 categories of visualness, 6 categories of language, 3 categories of manipulation, 11 categories of task-mapping and 7 others including the category of task-facilitation. The results of this study prove that the four methods are complementary, each method provides a unique insight to improve the usability of the application user interface. The researcher recommends using a multi-method approach when evaluating application usability because it can provide a more comprehensive representation of usability issues.
