Abstract

ABSTRACT Gusti, D. R. and A. Wuntu, 2010. Absorption of Cupper (II) ion using tea leaves dregs as adsorbent.An investigation on the adsorption of copper (II) by using the dregs of tea leaves as an adsorbent. The research results are obtained that the adsorption of metal ions Cu (II) with a concentration of 500 mg /L at the dregs of tea leaves as adsorbent 0.1 g for 20 minutes has a contact time of equilibrium at 190-200 minutes. This adsorption followed the Freundlich isotherm model. Adsorption process is highly dependent on initial concentration, the higher the initial concentration of metal ions Cu (II), the higher the concentration of metal ions Cu (II) adsorbed. Adsorption capacity of Cu (II) on waste tea leaves are estimated from graphs isoterm adsorption worth more than 45 mg for every gram of adsorbent.Keywords : adsorption, ion copper (II), waste tea leaves, and adsorption capacity

Abstract

Telah dilakukan sintesis tris-(4-thioanisil)oktilsilan (1) melalui reaksi kopling antara oktilsilan dengan 4-iodidathioanisol. Reaksi dilakukan menggunakan katalis paladium dalam kondisi atmosfir inert menggunakan pelarut tetrahidrofuran. Senyawa (1) diperoleh dalam bentuk cairan tak berwarna dengan rendemen 20% mempunyai tujuh puncak 1H NMR, tigabelas puncak 13C NMR dan memiliki nilai m/z 510.Synthesis of tris-(4-thioanisyl)octylsilane (1) by coupling reaction between octylsilane and 4-iodo thioanisole has been done. Reaction was carried out using palladium as catalyst in inert condition and tetrahydrofuran as solvent. Compound (1) was obtained in colorless oil with the yield 20% has seven peaks of 1H NMR, thirteen peaks of 13C NMR and m/z 501.

Abstract

ABSTRACTMomuat et al., 2011. Total antioxidant of some Tinutuan vegetables planted in different altitude places.A research was done to to study the effect of altitude on total antioxidant some tinutuan vegetables. Totalantioxidant of some vegetables was evaluated using ferric reducing antioxidant plasma method. The resultsshow that vegetables treat by heating possessed high antioxidant activity. Total antioxidant of gedi, spinach,kangkung and kemangi from Tomohon were 0.02, 1.37, 0.06 and 0.08, respectively. Total antioxidant of gedi,spinach, kangkung and kemangi from Manado were 0.36, 1.84, 0.30 and 0.58, respectively. High totalantioxidant activity of vegetables from Manado caused by Manado land contain more minerals to support plantgrowth and metabolism.Keywords : altitude, vegetables, tinutuan, total antioxidant

Abstract

Isoterm adsorpsi air dan etanol fase gas pada zeolit A yang disintesis dari silika gel dan aluminiumhidroksida serta diaktivasi pada 373 K dan 573 K telah dikaji. Eksperimen dilakukan menggunakanmetode gravimetri pada kondisi statis dan data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan model isotermadsorpsi Dubinin-Raduskevich untuk memperoleh nilai kapasitas adsorpsi dan energi adsorpsi. Hasil yangdiperoleh menunjukkan bahwa kapasitas adsorpsi zeolit untuk air lebih besar dibandingkan untuk etanolkarena molekul air berukuran lebih kecil dan lebih polar. Suhu aktivasi zeolit yang tinggi mengakibatkanenergi adsorpsi zeolit untuk air dan etanol menjadi lebih kecil Keywords : adsorpsi, isotherm, zeolit

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tanaman genus Chisocheton memiliki aktivitas antimalaria, antibakteri dan sitotoksik, yang dapat digunakan sebagai komponen senyawa bioaktif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hasil skrining fitokimia dan toksisitas dari ekstrak n-heksana, etil asetat dan metanol. Metode yang digunakan untuk skinning fitokimia yaitu menggunakan metode dari Harbone dan untuk metode yang digunakan untuk uji toksisitas yaitu menggunakan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test dari Meyer. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa skrining fitokimia terhadap sampel ekstrak daun tumbuhan dari Chisocheton sp. (C.DC) Harms menunjukan bahwa sampel mengandung senyawa; alkaloid, saponin, steroid, flavonoid dan tanin. Konsentrasi ekstrak dalam media yang digunakan 50, 40, 30, 40, 20, 10 dan sebagai kontrol 0 ppm dengan masing-masing media diberikan 10 ekor larva dan pengulangan sebanyak dua kali. Kadar air yang terkandung dalam simplisia adalah 7.66%. Hasil uji ekstrak daun Chisocheton sp. (C.DC) Harms bersifat toksik dengan nilai LC50 12.42 ppm untuk ekstrak n-heksana, LC50 23.75 ppm untuk ekstrak etil asetat, dan LC50 93.57 ppm untuk ekstrak metanol.  ABSTRACT The Chisocheton genus has antimalarial, antibacterial and cytotoxic activity, which can be used as a component of bioactive compounds. The purpose of this study was to determine the results of phytochemical screening and toxicity of n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol extract. The method used for phytochemical skinning is using the method from Harbone and method for used the toxicity test using the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test method from Meyer. The results of this study indicate that phytochemical screening of plant leaf extract samples from Chisocheton sp. (C.DC) Harms indicate that the sample contains compounds; alkaloids, saponins, steroids, flavonoids and tannins. The concentration of extracts in the media used was 50, 40, 30, 40, 20, 10 and as a control 0 ppm with each media given 10 larvae and repetition twice. The water content contained in simplicia is 7.66%. The results of the Chisocheton sp. Leaf extract test. (C.DC) Harms are toxic with LC50 value of 12.42 ppm for n-hexane extract, LC50 23.75 ppm for ethyl acetate extract, and LC50 93.57 ppm for methanol extract.

Abstract

Molecular chaperone is the group of protein that assist in the correct folding or assembly of other proteins invivo. The objective of this research was to characterize the product of gene encoding chaperone from Bacillussp. RP1 by using in-silico analysis. Analysis of 1053 bp from DNA fragment isolated by PCR showed that it has97% similarity with putative chaperone of Geobacillus kaustophilus (BA000043.1) and 86% similarity with DnaKoperon of B. stearothermophilus (X90709.1). Structure prediction of DnaJ Bacillus sp. RP1 showed that it hassimilar J-domain with that of DnaJ Escherichia coli but cys-rich domain is different.

Abstract

Gula aren merupakan salah satu bahan pemanis yang telah digunakan oleh bangsa Indonesia sejak dahulukala. Kurangnya inovasi teknologi terhadap produk ini menyebabkan gula aren semakin tersingkirkan dalamsistim makanan maupun sebagai sektor pendapatan masyarakat. Salah satu faktor penting dalampengembangan gula aren adalah mutu produk yang masih kurang mendapat perhatian. Sekalipun telahtersedia standard mutu untuk produk ini, tetapi metode analisa kandungan sukrosa sebagai komponen utamamasih dipertanyakan kesahihannya. Metode yang dianjurkan untuk digunakan adalah hidrolisa sukrosamenjadi gula pereduksi dengan HCl. Penggunaan HCl dapat menyebabkan dextran yang terkandung dalamgula akan ikut terhidrolisa sehingga menyebabkan intervensi nilai pengukuran. Penelitian ini ditujukan untukmengembangkan metode analisa yang lebih baik dengan menggunakan enzin invertase untuk menghidrolisasukrosa menjadi gula pereduksi. Hasil penelitian telah mendapati kondisi optimum analisa sukrosa denganinvertase. Waktu hidrolisis yang relatif lebih pendek (10 menit) dibandingkan dengan HCl membutuhkan waktu1 jam dengan konsentrasi enzim 0,4 mg/L. Hasil analisa dengan invertase menunjukan hasil yang lebih akuratdan dapat dilakukan di laboratorium sederhana. Berbagai contoh gula komersil yang dianalisa denganmenggunakan enzim memperlihatkan hubungan yang jelas antara kandungan gula sukrosa dan kualitas gulalainnya seperti pH, gula reduksi dan brix.Palm sugar is one of the sweeteners used by Indonesian since long time ago. Inadequate technologicalinnovation toward this product causes palm sugar getting less significant in food system as well as the source ofpeople income. One of the important factors in development of this product is the palm sugar quality that notquite gets attention yet. Even though there is an official standard quality of palm sugar but the method forsucrose analysis is still in question for its accuracy due to the present of other carbohydrate components in thesugar. The method for sucrose analysis in the quality standard is using acid hydrolysis using HCl. Thehydrochloric acid cans hydrolysis dextran in the sugar to produce glucose which cans interference the accuracyof the method. This study focus on the development of a better analytical method for sucrose analysis in palmsugar using enzyme to hydrolysis sucrose become reducing sugars. The results showed the optimum conditionof invertase to hydrolyze sucrose become reducing sugars. The hydrolyzing time is relatively short (10 minute)compared to the acid hydrolysis needed 1 hour. The enzyme concentration needed is 0.4 mg/L. Usinginvertase for hydrolysis is more accurate and can be done in a simple laboratory without sophisticatedequipments. Several samples of commercial palm sugars analyzed with enzymatic method showed significantlyrelate between sucrose content and the sugar quality such as pH, reducing sugars and brix.

Abstract

ABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengkaji kinetika fotodegradasi methylene blue (MB) menggunakan komposit Ag3PO4/Ag/HAp tulang ikan kakap merah (Lutjanus sp.).  Serbuk tulang ikan yang dikalsinasi hingga 1000ºC dan direaksikan dengan AgNO3 dengan rasio mol 5:1 (Ag:HAp) dan dihasilkan komposit Ag3PO4/Ag/HAp. Larutan MB diinteraksikan dengan komposit dengan variasi waktu 5-180 menit dibawah radiasi cahaya tampak. Konsentrasi MB yang tersisa ditentukan ditentukan dengan spektrofotometer UV-Vis dan data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan model kinetika reaksi orde ke-1 dan ke-2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fotodegradasi MB oleh komposit Ag3PO4/Ag/HAp mengikuti model kinetika fotodegradasi orde ke-2. ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was to study the kinetics of methylene blue (MB) photodegradation using composite Ag3PO4/Ag/HAp bone fish of red snapper (Lutjanus sp.). Fish bone powder which was calcined to 1000ºC and reacted with AgNO3 with mole ratio of 5 : 1 (Ag: HAp) and produced Ag3PO4/Ag/HAp composite. MB solution was interacted with composites with variation of time 5-180 minutes under visible light radiation. The remaining MB concentrations determined were determined by a UV-Vis spectrophotometer and the data obtained were analyzed with first and second order reaction kinetics model. The results showed that MB photodegradation by Ag3PO4/Ag/HAp composites followed the 2nd order photodegradation kinetics model.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the ?Concentration of Heavy Metal Mercury in Gastropods, Sedimentand Sea water at Amurang Bay. As the concentration of these heavy metals in living things (gastropod),sediment, and sea water being figured up that it will be known the level of heavy metal contaminant inAmurang Bay. This study was approached by purposive sampling method and Atomic AbsorptionSpectrophotometer (AAS) of the Laboratory of Balai Riset dan Standarisasi Industri dan Perdagangan(BARISTAND) used to analyze the sample. The result has been showed that the concentration of Mercury(Hg) that found in sea water, sediment and gastropod from Amurang Bay were in the range between 0,04? 0,82 ppm, 19,61 ? 39,63 ppm and 14,67 ? 23,89 respectively. Based on Environment Quality Standardreference the Mercury (Hg) concentration that has been found in this study from Amurang Bay beingunder safety limit level. Keywords : heavy metal, mercury, sea water, sediment, gastropod
