Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the Mathematics Education students are taught by UST Yogyakarta models Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) achieve mastery learning mathematics, and to know the mathematics achievement of students taught using a model of Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) is better than being taught by using a model conventional. The study was conducted in Mathematics Education Program FKIP-UST. The population in the study were all students of 7th semester of mathematics education and the samples taken at random from the population consisting of one experimental class and one control class. Data collection method used was a test. The research instrument used to learn math achievement tests. Tests carried out using a test instrument validity and reliability of the data obtained 4 about valid and reliable because more than r table = 0.316. Data analysis using the t test. The results showed the One-Sample Test sig obtained experimental class 0.001> 0.005, then H0 is rejected. So the average value of the experimental class learning model using MMP was 75.8 and achieve mastery learning which is more than 70. In addition, t-test for Equality of Means generate value t = 2.78 and sig (2-tailed) = 0.007 <0.05, so that H1 is accepted. Thus, the average achievement of different experimental class learning achievement grade control. Then based on the output of Group Statistics show the average results of studying experimental class 75.83 is much greater than the control class 67.93. Therefore, it can be concluded that the mathematical achievement of students taught by UST Yogyakarta Missouri Mathematics Project model reached mastery learning and better than students who were taught using the conventional model.

Abstract

The aim of this research describes about Cooperative Learning process type Think Pair Share (TPS) methode X grade students of accountancy in SMK PGRI 1 Sentolo Kulon Progo. The objecs of this research were X grade students accountancy in SMK PGRI 1 Sentolo Kulon Progo. This research tocused in motivation in learning process and result of mathematic with cooperative learnig process type Think Pair Share methode. The result of this research showed the use of cooperative learning process type Think Pair Share (TPS). The motivation of learning and the result of learning mathematics were increasing. The increasing of students motivation in learning was about 57,58%. The use of cooperative learning process type Think Pair Share (TPS) was increasing too. In the first activity was about 62,19% and in the second activity increased about 76,25%. It showed that all of the students achieved the good motivation of learning. The students result increased too. In the pra activity the students got the average of 50,5 the first activity was about 69,92 then the second activity was average of 81,59 with the precentage about 81,85% the students that achieved the Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum (KKM).

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the effectivity of using Think-Talk-Write (TTW) type in cooperative learning model in comparison with conventional learning model toward the mathematics learning achievement of VII grade students in SMP 3 Magelang in the year of 2013/2014. The populations in this research are the students of VIIA, VIIB, VIIC, VIID, VIIE, VIIF, VIIG, and VIIH of SMP 3 Magelang. The samples in this research are the students of VIIA and VIID. The technique to take sample used cluster random sampling technique and done by class lottery. The data is analyzed with one party t test that is right parties to examine the hypothesis. The significant level of one party t test is 5%. The prerequisite analysis which is normality and homogeneity has been done previously. Building on the prerequisite test of t test, it is known that the data is normal and homogeny. With the result of that, the hypothesis test by t test can be done. From the description of the learning achievement value, the average of class experiment value (  = 82,188) higher that control class value (  = 76,25). The result of t test shows that tcount > ttabel (2,060 > 1,645) which is mean that H0 is refused and Ha is accepted. The conclusion of this research is mathematics learning using Think-Talk-Write (TTW) type in cooperative learning model is more effective than convensional learning model toward the mathematics learning achievement of VII grade students in SMP 3 Magelang in the year of 2013/2014.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah  (1) Untuk mengetahui apakah model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD  lebih efektif dari model pembelajaran konvensional dalam pembelajaran matematika. (2) Untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar berdasarkan minat belajar tinggi, sedang dan rendah. (3) Untuk mengetahui apakah terjadi interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan minat belajar terhadap hasil belajar. Penelitian ini adalah kuasi-eksperimenta dengan populasisiswa kelas VII SMP PIRI Sleman.Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah teknik cluster random sampling dan dua kelas secara acak sebagai sampel dari 3 kelas yang ada, dua kelas yaitu 56 siswa. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan Analisis  varians Dua Arah (F-Test). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) Model pembelajaran STAD lebih efektif daripada model pembelajaran konvensional F_ hitung (obs.A)> F_ (Tabel) yang 17,85> 4,04. 2) Hasil belajar matematika siswa dengan minat belajar tinggi memiliki kesamaan dengan siswa yang memiliki sedang dan rendah F_ (obs.B)> F_ (Tabel) yaitu 2,09<3,19 (3) Tidak ada interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan minat belajar matematika terhadap hasil belajar siswa F_ (obs.AB)> F_ (Tabel) yang 2,73<3,19.

Abstract

This research aims to know the information about the tendency of the mathematics learning achievement and activeness of students in SMP N 2 Tempuran VII grade by snowball throwing and conventional model, to determind which method will give good achievement in mathematics, between cooperative snowball throwing type and the conventional method, to know which the mathematics learning achievement that is better among high, medium, and low activeness, to know the interactions between application of learning model and activeness level. The population of this research was all students of class VII consist of 5 classes in SMP N 2 Tempuran 2013/2014. The research sample of 2 classes was taken by cluster sampling technique. The data analysis uses descriptive analysis and two-way ANAVA analysis. The results of the analysis in the research are: 1) the mathematics learning achievement of class experiment is very high (), (2) the mathematics learning achievement of class control is high (, (3) the activeness of class experiment is moderate (), (4) The activeness of class control is low (), (5) Class experiment has better learning achievement than class control (= 4.5386), (6) the mathematics learning achievement of students who have high activeness is better than students who have moderate activeness, the mathematics learning achievement of students who have moderate activeness is better than students who have low activeness, the mathematics learning achievement of students who have high activeness is better than students who have low activeness (= 9.94245), (7) There is no interaction between learning model and activeness level of students based on the mathematics learning achievement of students. ( = 4.555).

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out correlate between beginning skill, learning pattern and background of parents education with mathematics learning achievement on 7th grade students at the whole district of Karangpucung, region of Cilacap at 2013/2014 academic year. The population in this research were all students of  7th grade students at the whole district of Karangpucung, region of Cilacap at 2013/2014 academic year and the samples taken at cluster random sampling with amont 130 students. Data collection method used was a documentation, a questionnaire and a test technique. The result showed the Sig = 0,000 < 0,05 for mayor hipotesis. Meanwhile, the result of minor hipotesis showed the Sig = 0,001<0,05; Sig = 0,000<0,05; and Sig = 0,020<0,05. So, there is correlate between beginning skill, learning pattern and background of parents education with mathematics learning achievement on 7th grade students at the whole district of Karangpucung, region of Cilacap at 2013/2014 academic year as collective and partial. It is expected that students care about beginning skill, learning pattern to mathematics learning achievement increasingly.

Abstract

the purpose of this research is to improve the activity and mathematics students’ achievement of class VIIB SMPN3 Muntilan through cooperative learning model NHT (Numbered Heads Together). This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycle. The subjects of this research is students of class VII B SMPN 3 Muntilan. Data collection techniques in this research uses observation, tests and documentation.The results showed that after apply the cooperative learning model NHT in class VIIB SMPN3 Muntilan, activity and mathematics achievement of students has increased.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to measure how far the math’s result and the learning motivation between the students who had inquiry learning strategy and who had conventional learning strategy. To find is there any different math’s result between the strategy and the motivation of the students. The research is done in SMP Negeri 2 Mlati Kabupaten Sleman for the 8th grade, on the academic year 2013/2014. The sample is chosen by using cluster random sampling. The data use technique is two-way analysis of variance 2x3 in different cell analysis. The research result shows that: (1) the math’s result study with inquiry in medium criteria’s score average is 14.29 (2) the result’s study of conventional learning strategy in medium criteria’s score average is 12.59 (3) motivation of study in inquiry learning strategy in medium criteria’s score average is 53.81 (4) motivation of study in conventional learning strategy in medium criteria’s score average is 48.88 (5) there is any different result of studying math based on learning strategy ( 4.08) (6) There is no different result study based on student’s motivation ( 0.268 3.23)  (7) there is no interaction between math learning strategy with student’s motivation ( 0.408 3.23)

Abstract

The aims of this research are to improve student’s motivation and their achievement in learning Mathematics at Mathematics lesson students class VIIA SMP Negeri 3 Temanggung year 2012/2013. The action hypothesis of this research is the open-ended approach in studying Mathematics can improve the learning motivation and student’s achievements in learning Mathematics for students class VIIA SMP Negeri 4 Temanggung year 2012/2103 .The research belongs to class action research that happened by collaborating with Mathematic teachers. The subjects of this research are the students of VIIA SMP N 3 Temanggung that consist of 32 students. The data collecting technique of this research are by using observation sheets, questionnaires sheets and test. The data analysis technique for the observation sheet and the questionnaires sheet is by counting every indicator. Then for the students achievement is counted by counting the average score of the test. The finding of this research shows that after the open-ended approach used in teaching Mathematics, the student’s learning motivation and their achievement in learning Mathematics are improved. Those are seen from the progress of the percentage result of the average on the observation of student’s motivation in every cycle, that is pre cycle on 73, 13% and improve on the cycle 2 on 80, 38%, besides that, the result of the questionnaires sheet also been supported by the result of student’s learning motivation questionnaires which are improve for each cycle, that are pre cycle on 71,00% then improve again to 81,00% and improve again on the cycle 2 to 88,97%. Besides that, the average of the students achievements on Mathematics study are improve from the first competence 70,23 become 80,17 on the cycle 1 and for the cycle 2 become 86,45. Remembering the open-ended approach can improve the learning motivation and can improve the student’s achievement on Mathematics, the researcher hopes schools can use and implement the approach as the learning model

Abstract

The purpose of this research is (1) to know the difficulties experienced by students who have visual learning style in solving the problem (2) to know the difficulties experienced by students who have an auditory learning style in solving the problem (3) to know Difficulties experienced by students who have kinesthetic learning style in solving problems This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. This study obtained data from questionnaire learning style, writing test math problems and interview results to students. Data analysis techniques by reducing data presents data and draw conclusions. The validity of the findings is checked using triangulation and peer examination. The results of this study are students experiencing 4 types of difficulty in solving problems based on learning style that is (1) difficulty in linguistic skill, (2) difficulties in perceptual skill, (3) difficulties in mathematic skill, (4) difficulty in atentic skill. For students with visual learning styles experiencing difficulties in mathematical skills and atential skills in solving problems, students with auditory learning styles have difficulty in linguistic skills, difficulties in perceptual and atential skills in solving problems, students with kinesthetic learning styles tend to have difficulty in linguistic skills And atent in solving problems.
