Abstract

This study aims to generalize the education management system in the constellation of John Dewey's philosophy of progressivism. As a qualitative-descriptive research, this research was conducted using library research. Research data obtained through primary and secondary literature on the philosophy of progressivism John Dewey. The data collection technique is done by documentation. Researchers document the educational thinking of John Dewey's progressivism, then describe it methodologically. Data analysis was carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and data analysis. The researcher reduces John Dewey's educational thought of progressivism, presents it systematically, then analyzes this thought in the education management system. The results showed; First, humans as educational human resources must be given roles and tasks according to their talents and interests. Humans are agents of change in education. Second, education has a forward and progressive orientation. This is a form of criticism of the scholastic education management system. Progressive education can be realized through a progressive curriculum reconstruction. Third, school educational institutions are miniatures of life in society. Therefore, schools need to be in symbiosis with the community in order to realize educational goals. Fourth, humans who learn have academic freedom. In the sense that humans can learn whatever they want to develop their potential and skills. These four things are the spark of progressive educational thinking according to John Dewey. Then these four things can be realized through progressive education management.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the teacher's role in motivating student learning besides the purpose of this study is to find out what obstacles are experienced by teachers in motivating student learning. This research uses a qualitative approach which is a case study. The data sources for this research are 1 class V teacher, 1 class IV teacher, and 2 students. Data collection techniques and instruments, in this case the researcher uses interviews and observations, focused data analysis using the Miles & Huberman model, namely data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. There are four results obtained, the first is the teacher as a demonstrator, namely mastery of learning material by motivating student learning, the second is the teacher as a class manager, namely creating a learning climate in learning by motivating student learning, the third is the teacher as a mediator and facilitator, namely preparing the syllabus, lesson plans, and learning media, instill a spirit of student learning, and provide motivation in learning, and the fourth teacher as an evaluator is the evaluation results. Barriers experienced by teachers in motivating student learning include the teacher's lack of motivation or encouragement in learning due to the impact of covid-19, the role of the teacher becomes a much needed role in learning in motivating student learning so that students are more diligent and not lazy in learning

Abstract

This study aims to describe: the role of the principal in developing the quality of education, the supporting factors in developing the quality of education and the inhibiting factors in developing the quality of education at SD Negeri 001 Bonai Darussalam. This research was conducted at SD Negeri 001 Bonai Darussalam, Rokan Hulu Regency. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The data sources of this research are the principal and 2 teachers. Data collection techniques and instruments in this case the researchers used the interview, observation and documentation methods. Focused data analysis using the Miles & Huberman model, namely data reduction, presentation and conclusion drawing. The findings of this study indicate that there are three roles of the principal in developing the quality of education at SD Negeri 001 Bonai Darussalam, namely the principal as a manager, the principal as an educator and the principal as a motivator. The supporting factors in developing the quality of education at SD Negeri 001 Bonai Darussalam are good human resources (HR), the existence of a teacher's jihad spirit in teaching and educating good students to make outstanding students, and the cohesiveness of school residents. . In addition, there are also inhibiting factors in developing the quality of education, namely the lack of infrastructure in the teaching and learning process, the competence of teachers who are still lacking in developing the quality of education at SD Negeri 001 Bonai Darussalam and environmental factors.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the difficulty of reading at the beginning of grade 1 at SDN 022 Pulau Baru Kopah. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study were class 1A teachers and class 1A students. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the Milles and Huberman model with stages, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that 47.6% of students who had difficulty reading the beginning were, (1) students did not recognize letters, (2) could not read syllables, (3) could not read word for word, (4) could not read diphthongs, clusters and diagraphs, (5) cannot read consonants, (6) cannot read vowels, (7) series, (8) wrong prephasers, (9) do not know the meaning of words. The solution given by the teacher to overcome the difficulty of early reading is to provide additional hours, pay more attention to students who have difficulty reading the beginning and teach students to recognize letters with creative techniques such as singing, students are asked to write sentences and aloud and so on.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan berlatar belakang mendalami studi tentang peran Rasulullah sebagai seorang edukator atau pendidik. Penelitian memiliki tujuan untuk menemukan bagaimana Rasulullah berperan sebagai pendidik yang dianalisis dari prestasi-prestasi dalam kehidupan para sahabat yang menjadi murid Rasulullah dan telah didik secara holistik, dengan mengajarkan pendidikan dengan strategi, metode dan kurikulum yang bersumber dari Allah, sehingga kompetensi daya pikir (head), kecekatan (hand) dan hati (heart) menjadi maksimal dan secara holistik menjadi kemampuan bagi murid-muridnya. Metode penelitian ini adalah studi pustaka, peneliti melakukan studi terhadap sejumlah referensi terkait buku-buku, jurnal-jurnal, maupun bacaan yang berbasis dengan studi ini, terutama menganalisis berbagai referensi-referensi terkait Rasulullah sebagai pendidik dan berbagai prestasi para sahabat, yang namanya tercantum dalam salah satu hadis. Hasil studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa adanya kompetensi holistik dalam praktik kehidupan para sahabat dan Rasulullah merupakan seorang guru yang telah mendidik muridnya dengan kemampuan menyeluruh yang terefleksi dalam berbagai prestasi sahabat dalam mereka menjalani kehidupannya.

Abstract

Kiai's leadership strategy in developing a religious culture is an effort to implement the strategic ideas that have been designed in the development of the Islamic boarding school organization so that it is always by its main objectives. In Pondok Pesantren Kiai is the main symbol and the only one who has the prerogative in running an educational institution. However, nowadays pesantren is experiencing rapid development where pesantren not only organize religious activities but also manages various other formal educations. Of course, this has implications for the increasing number of educators and education personnel who ultimately need good and proper management. This development certainly needs to be responded with good communication patterns, in order that all pesantren residents can understand the information messages conveyed by Kiai as the highest leader in the pesantren. Therefore, in the management of the Nurul Qornain Islamic Boarding School, Kiai Yazid Karimullah has approaches to effective communication patterns with his students, so that the availability of channels has implications for receiving students for information.

Abstract

This research aim to identify integration of 21st century skills in the development of learning tools.. This research uses qualitative research by applying descriptive methods. The source data in this study is a learning device that has been developed in the PPL Program of FKIP UMS with the pattern of the Prospective Teacher Motivator Program based on the concept of CoI. The data is the form of parts in learning tools which are the integration of 21 st century competency skills which consist of 4Cs. Data collection techniques in this study are note-taking and documentation techniques. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that the integration of 21st century skills in the development of learning tools in the CoI concept includes four overall aspects, namely critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration or 4C, found in the Lesson Plan, Student Worksheet, and evaluation instrument. Its relevance to the CoI concept that critical thinking integrated in the cognitive presence aspect, creativity integrated in the social presence aspect, and communication and collaboration in the teaching presence aspect.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the thematic learning difficulties in fourth grade students and describe the difficulty factors that affect thematic learning difficulties in fourth grade students at SDN 014 Binjai Island. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. Sources of data in this study were fourth grade teachers and 6 fourth grade students at SDN 014 Binjai Island. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the Milles and Huberman model with stages, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that there were six thematic learning difficulties in grade IV students, namely, 1) students felt confused, 2) students who had low cognitive/thinking power were left behind, 3) were less than optimal in receiving lessons, 4) parents had difficulties when helping. children study at home 5) students get low scores, and 6) students feel bored. While the difficulty factors that affect thematic learning difficulties at SDN 014 Binjai Island are eight, namely 1) lots of and mixed materials, 2) student learning styles, 3) HR (Human Resources), 4) student age, 5) thinking power. or students' cognitive, 6) parents, 7) long learning time, and 8) classroom atmosphere. The conclusion in this study is that there are still difficulties experienced by students related to thematic learning, this is due to a lot of influencing factors.

Abstract

This study aims to describe student learning independence in thematic learning in class V SDN Rantau Sialang, Kuantan Mudik District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study were the fifth grade teachers and the rest of the fifth graders. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the Milles and Huberman model with stages, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the fifth grade students already had independent learning in thematic learning. This can be seen from the activities while students study thematically. Students' independent learning attitudes that arise during thematic learning are 1) confident, 2) active in learning, 3) disciplined in learning and the last is 4) responsibility in learning. The conclusion of this study is that the teacher has carried out the learning process in accordance with the 2013 curriculum, namely the thematic learning of the teacher can develop the learning independence of fifth grade students at SDN 018 Rantau Sialang, Kuantan Mudik District, Kuantan Singingi Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning motivation of students in class II SDN 016 Kopah Village. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study were second grade teachers and all second grade students at SDN 016 Kopah Village. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used the Milles and Huberman model with stages, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the teacher always provides learning motivation to students during the learning process. given by the teacher, namely, 1) Praise Motivation, 2) rewards, 3) and the use of interesting activities during the learning process. Then, student motivation is divided into two, namely intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. There are some students who are included in intrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation factors, namely, 1) the desire and desire to succeed, 2) the drive and need in learning, 3) the expectations and ideals, and 4) the appreciation in learning. The criteria for students who have extrinsic motivation are students who always need encouragement, praise and appreciation from the teacher. The conclusion of this study is, the learning motivation of second grade students of State Elementary Schools can be said to be good, seen from 13 students who have many intrinsic motivations in second grade students of SDN 016 Kopah Village.
