<![CDATA[Lagu menjadi sarana hiburan yang disukai banyak kalangan. Selain sebagai hiburan, lagu juga sebagai media untuk mengenalkan budaya di suatu daerah. Salah satunya adalah lagu Madura atau lagu yang menggunakan Bahasa Madura. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui budaya masyarakat Madura dalam lagu-lagu Madura yang mengarah pada pendidikan, pengajaran dan pembiasaan. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis wacana kritis Norman Fairclough yang terdiri dari tahap kebahasaan, praktik kewacanaan, dan pratek sosiokultural. Sumber data terdiri dari 3 lagu Madura yang bertema pendidikan, pengajaran dan pembiasaan. Sedangkan data yaitu diksi, frase dan lirik-lirik lagu Madura yang menggambarkan budaya masyarakat Madura. Proses analisis data dilakukan tiga tahap yaitu tahap deskripsi, tahap interpretasi, dan tahap eksplanasi. Masing-masing tahap yaitu mengarah pada teori yaitu teks kebahasaan yang fokus pada kosakata yang mengandung kata ideologi, praktik kewacanaan yang fokus pada pelibat wacana yang mengarah pada peran masyarakat dan praktek sosiokultural yang mengarah pada konteks situasional. Hasil penelitian ini, pendidikan masyarakat Madura pada teks lagu mengarah pada pendidikan pesantren dan begitu menjunjung tinggi seorang guru atau kiyai. Pada pengajaran masyarakat Madura begitu patuh pada pengajaran yang diajarkan oleh kiyai, ustad, guru, dan tokoh agama. Sedangkan pembiasaan, budaya masyarakat Madura suka bergoyun atau bercanda tentang keinginan untuk berpoligami. Ketiga budaya diatas tercermin dalam lirik-lirik lagu Madura.]]>

<![CDATA[Culture and phenomena that exist in society can be known through novels. One of them is the phenomenon of women. This study discusses the woman struggle through two works of English and Indonesian literature, namely the novel Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and the novel Entrok by Okky Madasari. These two novels tell about the life of the women character and their environment. This study uses the theory of feminist literary criticism to find feminist issues in the two novels that appear through the female characters. The method used is descriptive analysis using a qualitative approach. The data source is the novel Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, published in 1847 by Smith, Elder & Co. in London, England, and Okky Madasari's novel Entrok published by Gramedia Pustaka Utama in 2010. The results of data analysis show that the female characters, namely Marni, Rahayu, and Jane Eyre have similarities in making efforts to equalize women through freedom of choice, education. , and work. However, there are also differences regarding the setting of place, time, and culture in the two novels.]]>

<![CDATA[Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui seberapa besar kesalahan berbahasa bidang morfologi pada teks karangan yang dibuat sendiri oleh siswa SMP Negeri 4 Medan kelas IX tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Dalam dunia pendidikan, kesalahan berbahasa yang dilakukan oleh siswa sering terjadi. Jika kesalahan berbahasa tidak diminimalisirkan, maka tujuan kurikulum 2013 tidak dapat terwujud. Kebahasaan merupakan salah satu aspek yang terdapat pada setiap indikator mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia kurikulum 2013. Salah satu aspek kesalahan berbahasa yang sering ditemukan pada karangan siswa yaitu bidang morfologi. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian yaitu 20 teks karangan siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 4 Medan. Berdasarkan hasil temuan data peneliti yaitu adanya kesalahan bidang morfologi yang terbagi menjadi 5 aspek, yaitu: kesalahan berbahasa bidang penulisan prefiks sebesar 11,1%, kesalahan penulisan bidang infiks 0% karena tidak terdapat kata yang termasuk infiks pada karangan siswa, kesalahan penulisan bidang sufiks sebesar 1,92%, kesalahan penulisan bidang konfiks sebesar 12,88%, kesalahan penulisan bidang reduplikasi sebesar 1,28%, dan kesalahan penulisan bidang pemajemukan sebesar 0% karena tidak ditemukan kesalahan pemajemukan. Dapat ditarik kesimpulan yaitu tingkat kemampuan siswa dalam mengimplementasikan kebahasaan bidang morfologi pada teks karangan yang mereka tulis sudah baik, karena hanya sebagian kecil nilai persentase kesalahan kebahasaan yang ditemukan.]]>

<![CDATA[Hidden Figures is a movie based on true story about the struggle of 3 (three) intelligent women from black race on very first NASA’S space program in 1961. A practice of Policy that makes black race can’t get important position in American society caused them receive discrimination. Based on consciousness that people depart from the same knowledge encourage them to do something across their positions to achieve equality. This study aims to explain what the characters on Hidden figures movie do to resist practice of policy and dissensus that has been divided by the regime partition in order to achieve equality and also to know what kind of migration they have succeeded. The data in form of pictures, monologues or dialogues will be analyzed using theory of Political and Aesthetic Equality by Jacques Ranciere. The result of discussion shows that every character does the political actions and make them in better position in American society. Although racism, discrimination cannot be eliminated through their actions, they have opened avenue and opportunity for anyone who has the ability to get what they deserve regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, even gender. They are no longer hidden figures or trying to be hidden by the regime in power.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to examine the short story entitled “Two Kinds”. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. In gathering the data, the writers applied close reading to determine the sentences which show the social wrong. In analyzing the data, the writers applied transitivity as the tool to analyze the sentences. After analyzing the data, the writers interpreted and related the sentences with social theories, which are tiger parenting and second generation Asian American. The results of this study show that the main character’s mother applied abusive methods as discussed in the tiger parenting explanation. The transitivity is used to prove that the parent, specifically the mother in the story, applies tiger parenting’s abusive system. The abusive system of the mother is realized through physical actions, mental affection, and verbal utterances to her daughter. The short story also contains the second generation of Asian American phenomena. As the second generation of Asian American, the main character rebels against the tiger parenting shown by her utterances towards her mother.]]>

<![CDATA[Indonesian literature has various experiences of development based on the dynamics of literary thought in their work. One of the literary works that are currently developing is popular literature. The study of popular literature is an interesting study to do. Research on popular literary works is also rarely done by academics. The novel with the title CEWEK!!!, is one of the popular literary works that the researcher examines using Betty Friedan's mystical feminine theory approach. The study is based on the existence of construction that forces women to fulfill their femininity. Breaking of the mystic feminine construction is studied in more depth descriptively through the text sources contained in the novel. The results of the study show that there is an effort to break the mystical feminine construction that has developed in society through three female figures, Langen, Febi, and Fani. The female characters with their awareness have reconstructed the mystical feminine concept to show that women are also superior in society. Keywords: Popular Literature, mystic feminine, novels]]>

<![CDATA[This study analyzes the anti-racism in the film Freedom Writers, directed and written by Richard LaGravenese. This study aims to identify anti-racism depicted in the film, describe how anti-racism is reflected in the film, and explain why a character named Erin Gruwell supports anti-racism in the film. This research is a library research. The type of data in this study is text, including narration, dialogue, and monologue. Data collection is done by watching and understanding the film’s storyline which is the object of this research. Qualitative data analysis was applied in this study, carried out in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. This study shows that there are two aspects of anti-racism depicted in the film, namely education aspect and togetherness. Second, the anti-racism reflected in the film is illustrated by learning about tolerance for differences. And finally, the reason Erin Gruwell supports anti-racism in her classroom is that she wants to inspire students to learn and have a good view of differences. ]]>

<![CDATA[ABSTRACT Gender equality is defined as a thought that men and women have equal rights as human beings and should be treated equally. This issue becomes interesting to discuss because not all women and girls around the world experience equal rights. Mulan (2020) is a movie that shows the problem of gender equality. This research aims to point out that Mulan (2020) is considered as a movie depicting issues against women and a main character's effort to fight for human rights and achieve gender equality by analyzing scenes and dialogues. The research used descriptive study with a qualitative approach as a method of research. The semiotics analysis of Charles Sanders Peirce and liberal feminism theory used as the ground of knowledge to support the research. The results found in this research indicate that gender equality in this movie is a part of culture that includes physical and verbal form. The amount of research data analyzed consists of 10 data in the form of pictures and dialogues. In addition, this movie is shown to achieve the same rights, especially for women who often lose their rights as a result of society's demands and norms. <![CDATA[In this article, the researcher discusses present verbs. Present verbs are typically employed in the simple present tense to describe events that occur on a regular basis in the present. This article discusses the use of present verbs in twelve news articles on CNN.com. The goal of this research is to determine how many present verbs are used on CNN.com and which present verbs are most often utilized. I chose CNN.com because CNN.com is one of the largest mass media in the world. Mass media was first initiated by Ted Turner and Reese Schoenfeld and was first launched in 1980 and is a subsidiary of WarnerMedia. It is also the first TV channel to broadcast news 24 hours non-stop. The data is collected using a qualitative method, specifically by collecting news from CNN.com. The review reveals the variety of present verb uses in 57 (fifty-seven) news articles on CNN.com in 2020 and the variety of present verbs that are often utilized.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to reveal the situation of post human and the description of female cyborg in JP Delaney's novel The Perfect Wife, it also explains how the relationship between humans and cyborgs in this novel. The theory of cyborgism by Donna Harraway is applied to analyze the representation of post humanism as articulated through a female cyborg character. In addition, it is worth-studied as the female cyborg character is positioned in the context of husband-wife marriage. However, this study focuses on two descrition of the female cyborg who is predominantly influenced by typical gender stereotyping.Qualitative research is taken as the approach of this study. Data collection is mostly obtained by close reading technique, while the data analysis is done by applying the theory to analyze the texts taken from author’s narration and characters’ utterances within the novel. The results of this study confirm that the female cyborg character is created by a human has a great potential to replace the role of a human being physically, intellectually and abilities, and the relationship that occurs between cyborgs and humans. It also affirms that the female cyborg presented in the novel is created to satisfy man’s need and characterized to possess typical and stereotypical woman. ]]>
