Abstract

The utilization of microorganisms that can accelerate the composting process is the utilization of decomposing bacteria from decomposer products that are useful for accelerating the decomposition process of organic materials. This study aims to obtain bacterial isolates that can function as agricultural waste decomposers from bamboo rhizosphere from Sidrap Regency. This study consists of 4 stages, namely (i) Sampling in the bamboo plant rhizosphere, (ii) Isolation of rhizosphere soil samples, (iii) Identification of microorganism morphology, (iv), and the last stage is testing the ability to degrade cellulose (cellulolytic). The study results showed that in Sidrap Regency, there were 4 sampling points, namely at S 030 57 '25.4 "and E 1190 40'44. 9" and S 03056'09.7 "and E 1190 41'24.9". There, 52 isolates were successfully isolated from the four places. Isolates SDR1A101B and SDR1A107B have the best ability to degrade and decompose cellulose.

Abstract

The provision of mycorrhizal fungi makes phosphorus available in the soil because mycorrhizae play a role in dissolving phosphorus bound to the soil. Soybeans need phosphorus, a significant limiting factor for plant growth and production. The study aims to determine the optimal dose of vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal (VAM) inoculation and SP36 fertilizer on Tanggamus soybean varieties. The study was arranged using a Split Plot Design (RPT), with the main plot, namely the MVA dose consisting of 4 levels, namely: without mycorrhiza (m0), mycorrhiza 5 g.plant-1 (m1), 10 g.plant-1 (m2), 15 g.plant-1 (m3); and the subplot is SP36 fertilizer consisting of 4 levels, namely: Without SP36 (f0), SP36 7.7 g.plant-1 (p1), 11.5 g.plant-1 (p2), 15.4 g.plant-1 (p3). There were 16 treatment combinations consisting of 3 replications and 48 experimental units. The variables observed were plant height, root fresh weight, shoot fresh weight, flowering days, number of seeds per plant, and seed weight per plant. The results showed that the treatment of vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhiza 15 g.tan-1 with SP36 fertilizer 7.7 g.tan-1 increased growth, especially at a plant height of 50.68 cm (4.84%) and increased soybean plant yields, as shown by seed weight of 52.33 g.tan-1 (60.18%) compared to the treatment of SP36 fertilizer without mycorrhizas (15.4 g.tan-1).

Abstract

Fishmeal is the primary raw material in fish feed formulations as a source of protein raw materials. Its limited availability and fluctuating prices encourage using alternative protein sources, one of which is worm meal. This study compare the use of fish meal and worm meal in catfish (Clarias sp.) feed the hepatosomatic index (HSI), blood glucose levels, and gastric emptying rate. The research was conducted using an experimental method with two treatments: fishmeal-based and worm meal-based. HSI data obtained were analyzed by independent-sample T-test analysis, while data on blood glucose levels and gastric emptying rate were analyzed descriptively. The results showed no significant difference (p>0.05) between treatments on hepatosomatic index. Fluctuations in blood glucose levels are also in line with the rate of gastric emptying, which is not too different between treatments. This study showed that worm meal has the potential to be used as an alternative to fish meal in catfish feed without causing physiological changes.

Abstract

Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) is a vegetable from the Curcubitaceae family or gourds that originated in India and has spread throughout the world including Indonesia. In Indonesia, cucumber is one of the vegetables that is much favored by all levels of society because it can be consumed and used as a cosmetic and medicinal ingredient. This study aims to determine the effect of gibberellin concentration and NPK fertilizer dosage on the growth and yield of cucumber plants. The research was conducted in Dasri Village, Tegalsari District, Banyuwangi Regency, East Java,  from August to November 2024. This research was conducted using the method of Divided Plots Design (RPT) with two treatment factors. The treatments used were concentration of gibberellin as main plot and dosage of NPK fertilizer as sub plot. The concentration of gibberellin consisted of four levels, namely: 0 ppm/plant, 100 ppm/plant, 200 ppm/plant and 300 ppm/plant. The second factor is the dose of NPK fertilizer including: 100 kg/ha, 400 kg/ha, 500 kg/ha and 600 kg/ha. The results showed that the treatment combination of gibberellin concentration of 300 ppm/plant with NPK fertilizer dosage of 600 kg/ha affected to length of plant and total of leaves.
