Abstract

Beras merupakan makanan pokok yang sulit tergantikan oleh makanan alternatif lainnya. Hal ini membuat tingkat konsumsi beras di Indonesia tergolong tinggi. Penggunaan lahan di Kecamatan Cawas telah banyak bergeser menjadi pemukiman dan luas penggunaan lahan untuk pertanian semakin berkurang. Hal ini secara tidak langsung menyiratkan bahwa sebagian besar petani di Kecamatan Cawas telah mengalihkan penggunaan lahannya dari lahan pertanian ke lahan pemukiman karena usahatani yang sebelumnya tidak lagi memberikan keuntungan. Pendapatan usahatani dapat digunakan sebagai indikator kesejahteraan petani, semakin tinggi pendapatan bersih yang diterima oleh petani kemungkinan tingkat kesejahteraan petani secara ekonomi semakin tinggi. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut, maka perlu dianalisis lebih lanjut mengenai tingkat penggunaan biaya, penerimaan, pendapatan, dan kelayakan usahatani sehingga diketahui sejauh mana usahatani padi dapat menjamin kesejahteraan ekonomi rumah tangga petani. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode wawancara dengan kelompok tani Mugi Subur di Kecamatan Cawas dan dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret. Analisis pendapatan usahatani dapat dilakukan dengan melakukan wawancara mengenai penggunaan biaya usahatani dan harga padi saat panen. Selanjutnya berdasarkan data tersebut dihitung nilai Break Event Point (BEP), R/C ratio, dan B/C ratio untuk menentukan kelayakan usahatani. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa usahatani padi di Kecamatan Cawas memberikan keuntungan bagi petani dan layak untuk diusahakan.Rice is a staple food that is difficult to replace with other alternative foods. This makes the level of rice consumption in Indonesia quite high. Land use in Cawas District has shifted a lot to settlements and the area of land use for agriculture is decreasing. This indirectly implies that most of the farmers in Cawas Sub-district have shifted their land use from agricultural land to residential land because the previous farming no longer provides a profit. Farm income can be used as an indicator of farmer welfare, the higher the net income received by farmers, the higher the economic welfare level of farmers. In this regard, it is necessary to further analyze the level of use of costs, revenues, income, and the feasibility of farming so that it is known to what extent rice farming can guarantee the economic welfare of farmers' households. This research was conducted by interview method with the Mugi Subur farmer group in Cawas District and was carried out in March. Farming income analysis can be done by conducting interviews regarding the use of farming costs and the price of rice at harvest. Furthermore, based on the data, the Break Event Point (BEP) value, R/C ratio, and B/C ratio were calculated to determine the feasibility of farming. The results showed that rice farming in Cawas District provides benefits for farmers and is feasible to cultivate.

Abstract

Snack food merupakan salah satu jenis produk yang dihasilkan dengan teknologi ekstrusi.  Umumnya produk snack ekstrusi tinggi kandungan karbohidrat dan rendah protein karena bahan utama yang digunakan adalah bahan dengan kandungan pati yang tinggi seperti seperti jagung dan beras. Kandungan protein dari produk snack ekstrusi dapat ditingkatkan dengan menambahkan bahan tinggi protein seperti ikan gabus.  Penambahan ikan gabus pada produk snack dapat mempengaruhi terhadap karakteristik fisik dan kimia snack yang dihasilkan. Tujuan penelitian adalah mempelajari pengaruh ukuran dan konsentrasi grit ikan terhadap karakteristik fisik (hardness, fracturability, warna, rasio ekspansi), kimia (kadar air), dan hedonik dari produk snack ekstrusi dengan panambahan grit ikan gabus. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor yaitu faktor A (ukuran grit ikan) dalam 3 taraf (10, 12, dan 20 mesh) dan faktor B (persentasi grit ikan) sebanyak 2 taraf yaitu (10%, dan 15%). Sebagai pembanding (kontrol) digunakan snack tanpa penambahan grit ikan. Semua perlakuan dilakukan sebanyak 2 kali. Ukuran maupun konsentrasi grit ikan tidak mempengaruhi terhadap karakteristik fisik snack ekstrusi baik hardness, fracturability, maupun rasio ekspnasi, kecuali warna snack ekstrusi dipengaruhi oleh ukuran grit ikan tetapi tidak dipengaruhi oleh konsentrasi maupun interaksi antara ukuran dan konsentrasi grit ikan.  Hasil analisis sensori menunjukkan kombinasi ukuran dan konsentrasi grit ikan tidak mempengaruhi penerimaan panelis terhadap parameter sensori kenampakan, warna, aroma, dan tekstur namun berpengaruh terhadap paremeter rasa.Snack food is one type of product produced by extrusion technology. Generally, extruded snack products are high in carbohydrates and low in protein because the main ingredients used are ingredients with high starch content, such as corn and rice. The protein content of extruded snack products can be increased by adding high-protein ingredients such as snakehead fish. The addition of snakehead fish to snack products can affect the physical and chemical characteristics of the resulting snack. The research aimed to study the effect of the size and concentration of fish grit on the physical characteristics (hardness, fracturability, color, expansion ratio), chemical (moisture content), and hedonic of the extruded snack product with the addition of snakehead fish grit. The study used a factorial completely randomized design consisting of 2 factors, namely factor A (fish grit size) in 3 levels (10, 12, and 20 mesh) and factor B (fish grit percentage) in 2 levels, namely (10%, and 15%). ). As a comparison (control) snacks were used without the addition of fish grit. All treatments were carried out 2 times. The size and concentration of fish grit did not affect the physical characteristics of the extruded snack, either hardness, fracture, or expansion ratio, except that the color of the extruded snack was influenced by the size of the fish grit but not influenced by the concentration or interaction between the size and concentration of the fish grit. The results of the sensory analysis showed that the combination of size and concentration of fish grit did not affect the panelists' acceptance of the sensory parameters of appearance, color, aroma, and texture but did affect the taste parameters.

Abstract

Lahan di kawasan pantai pemanfaatannya belum optimal untuk lahan pertanian karena dihadapkan pada beberapa masalah baik dari segi ekonomis maupun praktek budidaya. Perlu suatu gagasan dalam mengoptimalkan potensi lahan tersebut agar dapat lebih produktif dan memberi manfaat nyata pada masyarakat. Salah satu cara untuk memanfaatkan lahan pantai adalah dengan melakukan budidaya bunga matahari. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan hasil bunga matahari pada lahan tidur di kawasan pesisir. Penelitian disusun menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok, dengan perlakuan 3 varietas dan 2 aksesi bunga matahari yang diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bunga matahari sangat berpotensi untuk dikembangkan pada  lahan tidur di daerah pantai Pesisir Selatan. Aksesi Ha1 menunjukkan pertumbuhan dan hasil yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan aksesi Ha15 dan varietas Kanigara, Lokal Jumbo serta IPB BM1. Land in the coastal area has not been optimally utilized for agricultural land due to a number of issues, both economically and in terms of cultivation practices. The study used a randomized block design, with treatments of three sunflower kinds and two accessions repeated three times. The findings revealed that sunflowers have the potential to be grown on undeveloped land along the coast of the United States.

Abstract

Ultisol as agricultural land has low fertility which is characterized by pH, cation exchange capacity, nutrient availability, and very low organic matter content, thus inhibiting plant growth and production. To overcome the low productivity of these ultisols, it is necessary to improve soil fertility, which includes improving the physical, chemical, and biological properties of the soil. Soil fertility can be improved by using organic fertility plus coal (baraplus) which contains nutrients N, P, K, and micronutrients as well as using high-yielding varieties. This research was conducted in Sukarame sub-district, Palembang city starting from October to December 2018. Research method using field experiment method. Lay out the chart in the field using a spit plot with 9 treatment combinations repeated 3 times. The main plot, namely the types of varieties: bonanza, sweet boy, master sweet. As sub-plot, namely the dose of organic fertilizer plus: 500kg/ha, 1000 kg/ha, 1500 kg/ha. The results showed that the treatment with a dose of organic fertilizer plus 1500 kg/ha with the master sweet variety resulted in the highest production of 8.42 kg/plot or the equivalent of 22.45 tons/ha.

Abstract

This study aimed was to find an integrated technology to obtain optimum spacing and effective weed control on various varieties based on the peanut yield approach. The design used was a Completely Randomized Block Design arranged in a factorial manner, consisting of 3 factors: Factor 1, plant spacing of 30 x 10 cm, and 40 x 10 cm. The second factor was the type of weed control, which was weeded twice at 21 and 42 days after planting, and the use of the herbicide glyphosate 1.44 kg b.a per hectare. The third factor is the variety of peanuts, namely the Jepara, Kelinci, and Panter varieties. All treatments were repeated 3 times. The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variance and continued with Duncan's Multiple Distance Test with a significant level of 5%. The results showed that the independent spacing treatment significantly affected all observed parameters. The weed control significantly affected all parameters except seed weight per plot, and varieties treatment significantly affected all parameters except the dry weight of the stover. Interaction between planting distance and weeding type had a significant effect on all observation parameters except the dry weight of the stover.

Abstract

The level of heavy metal contamination of mercury (Hg) and lead (Pb) in the aquatic ecosystem of the Waiting Pampang Reservoir, Makassar City, is known by determining the concentration of these heavy metals in water and biota (tilapia). Tilapia is a catch that is relatively abundant in the Waiting Pampang Reservoir. This study aimed to determine water quality and levels of Hg and Pb contamination in water and tilapia caught from the Waiting Pampang Reservoir. Water quality is determined by measuring 1) the degree of acidity (pH), 2) Dissolved oxygen (DO), 3) Biological oxygen demand (BOD), and 4) Chemical oxygen demand (COD). The results showed that the BOD and COD values had passed the threshold so that the waters of the Waiting Pampang Reservoir were contaminated with organic matter. However, it has not been contaminated with Hg and Pb (<0.001 mg/kg) heavy metals. Tilapia caught from the Waiting Pampang Reservoir contained heavy metal Pb, but the concentration was far below the permissible value. However, the consumption of tilapia from the Waiting Pampang Reservoir must still be watched out for because heavy metals are accumulative.

Abstract

Bitti (Vitex cofassus) is one of the most important tree species in Sulawesi, which is used as material for phinisi boats. The aim study was to study the genetic diversity of Bitti in the genetic resources area in Bone Regency. This study used provenance Bulukumba, Muna, Kolaka, and North Luwu proof which was analyzed based on microsatellite markers. The resulting study showed evidence that provenance Muna has a Ho value 0f 0,65 or a relatively high genetic diversity value in comparison to provenance Bulukumba, Kolaka, and North Luwu.
