Abstract

The research has two points of discussion. First, Islamic contribution on world education thought and practice (dominated by Islamic history). Furthermore, the original Islamic concept (al-quran and Sunnah) and the role of Muhammad and other Islamic leaders (Khulafaur Rasyidin, Daulah Umayyah, Daulah Abbasiyah, and so on) as a pioneer of academic tradition, being an inspiration to knowledge civilization. The proof of Islam as a leading sector of knowledge and civilization in western world, such as Europe, was the emergence of multidisciplinary-knowledge from Islamic scholars, not only on theology. This turmoil, then, continued to Islamic education institution such as Madrasah Nizamiyyah in Baghdad (450 H/1069 M) as the symbol of sect, mazhab, and religionism preservation. Second, focusing on Islamic education map in this globalization era, there are five greatetest trends dominantly on Islamic thought typhology: fundamentalism, traditionality, reformism, post-traditionality, and modernism.

Abstract

This research was conducted to see the effect of the number of testee (sample size), the number of items (test length), the number of options, and index of difficulty to various item discrimination statistics and test reliability. The data used are simulated data and analyzed using the Test Analysis Program (TAP) version 6.65 with a full factorial design. In general, the results show that the number of testee, the number of items, and index of difficulty (except number of options) significantly affect the various item discrimination statistics and test reliability. The statistics are robust to these three factors is only the Mean of Item Discrimination and Spearman Brown’s 1-2 Split-Half, while the most sensitive is Split-Half Odd-Even statistic.

Abstract

Raudhatul Athfal (RA) merupakan lembaga pendidikan Islam formal pertama yang hendaknya dapat ditempuh oleh peserta didik sebelum mereka memasuki jenjang pendidikan di tingkat dasar. Lembaga pendidikan ini dirancang dan berorintasi pada upaya nyata mendidik dan membina anak usia dini dari sisi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan jasmani serta rohaninya agar siap mengikuti tahapan pendidikan selanjutnya. Seiring berjalannya waktu jumlah jumlah raudhtul athfal yang ada di Indonesia semakin bertambah. Begitu pula halnya yang terjadi di Kota Pontianak sebagai ibu Kota Propinsi Kalimantan Barat. Bertambahnya raudhatul athfal-raudhtul athfal ini tentunya membawa angin segar terhadap kemajuan pendidikan Islam, namun kenyataanya keberadaan mereka justru sebelum penelitian ini dilaksanakan belum terdata secara baik dan lengkap. Padahal data dan informasi yang bersifat komprehensif tentunya akan melahirkan kebijakan yang lebih tepat sasaran. Tulisan ini berangkat dari hasil penelitian menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode penelitian survei sebagai motor utamanya. Penelitian survei yaitu salah satu metode yang paling sering digunakan untuk memperoleh data dan jawaban terhadap berbagai pertanyaan di berbagai disiplin ilmu terlebih berkaitan identifikasi secara menyeluruh masalah kebendaan maupun manusia dalam suatu kelompok. Sedangkan pisau analisis penelitiannya dibangun berdasarkan teori administrasi, institusi/kelembagaan dan kepemimpinan sekolah. Hasil berupa paparan data dan informasi berkaitan dengan aspek-aspek kajian yaitu; 1) Setting lembaga Raudahtul Athfal, meliputi; tahun pendirian, lokasi, status tempat operasional, pola penyebaran, status sekolah, dan Akreditasi lembaga. 2) Keadaan peserta didik, yang meliputi; kelas, jenis kelamin dan usia. 3) Keadaan sarana dan prasana, 4) Kurikulum pendidikan, meliputi; jenis kurikulum, struktur kurikulum, dan waktu operasional lembaga. 5) Kondisi Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) di lembaga RA, yang meliputi; keadaan personel, jenis kelamin, usia, tingkat pendidikan, status di lembaga RA, upaya pelatihan dan pengembangan SDM. 6) Kepemimpinan lembaga atau organisai, dan 7) Keuangan, yang meliputi; dana operasional sekolah, pengeluaran sekolah, uang iuaran sekolah, aspek kesejahteraan pendidik (gaji)

Abstract

Through ASEAN Summits 1997 – 2007, leaders of ASEAN countries have achieved the agreement to establish AEC (Asean Economic Community) in the end of 2015, providing the ability to pursue the ASEAN vision 2025. By means of regional and then global free trade to come, the welfare of 660 millions people in ASEAN countries regarding those leaders. The question is what should be done by each member? In terms of free market, common quality standard comes in the first place. Consequently, terminologies such as accreditation and certification are among words which teachers pay a lot of attention. These two words are not only about quality standard they have to achieved but also result in their take home payment. This article aims to explain te rationale of “Quality Standard” as a must programme in free market era, regionally and globally.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out about (1) the principal's strategy in improving teacher performance in PAI learning planning; (2) the principal's strategy in improving teacher performance in the implementation of PAI learning; and (3) the principal's strategy in improving teacher performance in pai learning evaluation. This type of research is field research(fiel research),while the approach used is qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used are observation, interview and documentation studies. The data sources in this study are 1 principal and 2 PAI teachers located at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak. The results of this study show that: (1) the principal's strategy in improving teacher performance in PAI learning planning, is to provide skills, motivation and conduct academic supervision for learning planning at the beginning of the year; (2) The principal's strategy in improving teacher performance in the implementation of PAI learning is to conduct academic monitoring and supervision in the form of regular class visits to each teacher and directly supervise the teacher in carrying out learning stages such as: preliminary activities, core activities and closing activities; and (3) the principal's strategy in improving teacher performance in pai learning evaluation is also by conducting academic supervision in the form of classroom visits and directly monitoring teachers in providing feedback as a result of the evaluation process provided by teachers in the classroom

Abstract

Artikel ini terbatas pada perubahan institusi pendidikan tinggi islam (universitas) di Indonesia yang meneliti penggunaan beberapa istilah yang menandakan islam dan pendidikan, dan menyediakan pedoman untuk menjelaskan kegunaannya dalam wacana konsep pendidikan. Dengan ini, artikel menggambarkan klasifikasi pendidikan islam dan institusi yang berkaitan. Dipengaruhi oleh perkembangan globalisasi dalam hal kemajuan di masyarakat dan seiring perubahan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi juga dibahas pada tulisan ini. Artikel ini membahas dikotomi antara ilmu pengetahuan dan subjek islam yang harus disampaikan pada universitas umum dan institusi pendidikan berbasis islam. Wacana ini menjadi pembahasan yang panjang di Indonesia sampai saat ini, tulisan ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan sebagai metode penelitian. Diikuti dengan hasil wawancara kepada informan dan pembelajaran literasi sebagai teknik utama untuk mendukung pergeseran paradigma pada pendidikan islam di Indonesia khususnya di UIN Maliki Malang. Maka, sumber pertama dan kedua digunakan pada metode kualitatif. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa kunci motivasi dan karakteristik dari keseluruhan bagian dan tujuan program pendidikan dibagi antara pendidikan tradisional islam (dipesantren) dan tradisi barat atau pendidikan modern sampai saat ini. Pengalaman Universitas Islam (UIN Maliki Malang) untuk melaksanakan konsep baru pada manajemen pendidikan yang berkombinasi antara tradisi pesantren dan universitas (tradisi barat) akan dipaparkan dalam tulisan ini

Abstract

The study reveal the reading improvement by using Buzz groups technique. This study used action research. This research finding that buzz groups technique can improve students’ reading comprehension. The improvement can be identified from students’ reading comprehension achievement in finding word meaning, finding detailed information, identifying the referent, identifying the main idea, identiying implied information, identifying the language characteristics of the text including identifying the generic structure of the text and identifying communicative purpose of text. The result score of pre-test is 60.2, the mean score of post-test 1 is 75.4, and the mean score of post-tes 2 is 83

Abstract

This paper disscusses about using Arabic dictionary as one of Arabic learning source forms. Dictionary as students source to find information related to Arabic-Indonesian vocabulary or Indonesian-Arabic and giving Arabic vocabulary learning experiences. Arabic dictionary from its type divided into printed dictionary and digital dictionary. There are two ways using Arabic printed dictionary : searching word as alphabetics form of beginning letter of root word with neurology and articulation form of beginning letter of pronunciation. Generally, using printed dictionary through word searching as alphabetics is beginning letter form of root word. Meanwhile,using digital dictionary as articulation is beginning letter of pronunciation. Therefore,using online dictionary and software considered to be easily,effective and efficient without mastering neurology first.
