Abstract

ABSTRACT Metacognition is one of the important things in supporting one's success in solving mathematics problems because by using metacognition when solving problems, effective problem solving will be obtained. Metacognition is one's awareness of his own thought process. In dealing with a problem, it will be influenced by Adversity Quotient (AQ), namely intelligence in facing difficulties and changing barriers into opportunities for success. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects in this study were a Satya Wacana Christian University Mathematics Education student who had the AQ type of quitters. Quitters are a type of human who easily gives up in the face of difficulties. The results showed that the metacognition process experienced by the subject included metacognition awareness, evaluation, and regulation. In addition, metacognition also helps the subject to make thoughts and problem solving strategies more effective.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas VIIE pada materi greeting, taking leave, thanking dan apologizing. Pada kondisi awal, pembelajaran yang dilakukan menggunakan metode ceramah. Pembelajaran membosankan dan kurang merangsang pikiran dan minat peserta didik, banyak yang kurang memperhatikan dan kurang memahami materi yang disampaikan. Hal ini mengakibatkan nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 59,87 dengan ketuntasan belajar 39,39 %. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, maka penulis membuat sebuah inovasi pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran ‘turnamen dalam permainan tradisional boy boyan’ agar materi lebih mudah dipahami. Teknik pengumpulan datanya menggunakan tes dan non tes. Tes untuk mengukur hasil belajar dan tingkat pemahaman peserta didik, non tes untuk mengukur validasi alat peraga atau media dan materi yang dipelajari, respon peserta didik terhadap pembelajaran yang telah dilakukan, kualitas guru dalam pembelajaran dan validasi instrumen tes. Instrumen tes berupa soal pertanyaan dan non tes berupa angket atau kuesioner. Data hasil tes ditabulasikan dalam persentase dianalisis dengan deskriptif komparatif. Turnamen dalam permainan tradisional boy boyan diaplikasikan pada peserta didik kelas VIIE SMP Negeri 2 Merbau Mataram Semester Ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019 berjumlah 33 orang, terdiri dari 17 orang laki-laki dan 16 orang perempuan. Hasil aplikasi menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata hasil belajar sebesar 74,93 dengan ketuntasan belajar 62,50%, berarti terjadi peningkatan nilai rata-rata sebesar 37,50 dan ketuntasan belajar 23,11%. Berdasarkan hasil analisis disimpulkan bahwa Turnamen dalam permainan tradisional boy boyan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas VIIE SMP Negeri 2 Merbau Mataram semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2018/2019.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the English vocabulary of 4 to 6-year-old children at TK Pertiwi 29 Semarang. This research includes classroom action research using snake and ladder media. The research subjects in this study were 20 students from kindergarten group B. Data collection techniques were observation, interview and discussion to classroom teachers and principals, as well as documentation. The research instrument used in this research was observation sheet in the form of checklist. The analysis is using observation data done gradually, then processed into tabulation of observation score and calculated its percentage according to children’s name. The result of this study showed the improvement of percentage from pre-cycle that is 52%, cycle I, which is 59% and 77% in cycle II. Snake and ladder media used in English language learning gradually increase children’s vocabulary.

Abstract

This research is observed to increase the result and motivate the students in learning mathematics in Grade XI MIPA 4 of Ambarawa Senior High School with topic trigonometry by using peer tutor method. This research is includes class act observed. The method that I used in this research is called Kurt Lewin with 4 steps, they are planning, action, observing, and reflection. The increasing result of the study and motivation to learn in learning mathematics with can see it by points and questionnaire scores. The result shows that the average learning outcomes in cycle 1 and cycle 2 were 73,55 and 86,67 respectively with the percentage of class completeness in the first cycle and the second cycle respectively 64% and 85%. As for the aspects of learning motivation by 52% based on this, it can be concluded that the applications of peer tutoring methods cam improve learning outcomes and learning motivation in the trigonometry material of students of Grade XI MIPA 4 of Ambarawa Senior High School.

Abstract

One of the negative impact of globalization era is the decreasing of the character of senior high school’ students. This case can be seen from many kinds of offenses of the students such as bring pornographic readings, skipping classes, smoking, and brawls. Therefore, one of the effort of the school to overcome the problems is through student council. The purpose of this research is to describe the role of the student council in forming the students’ characters in Vocational High School 2 in Salatiga from (1) student council’s work programs that have been arranged and done, (2) the students character formation through student council's activities, (3) the successful implementation of student council activities in shaping the students’ character. Qualitative research with a descriptive approach is used in this study and the participants are the chairman and members of the student council, and student council adviser. The data collection used interview, observation, and documentation. The results of the research showed: (1) there were 4 activities or programs of student council such as class meetings, the representative meeting, the introduction of the school environment, and basic leadership training, (2) Four activities or programs formed the students’ character such as discipline, confidence, responsibility, mutual respect, democracy, caring, critical, and leadership, (3) the programs are done successfully to change the students' character who were less disciplined to be more disciplined, responsible to do homework, caring to friends, critical and confident in giving opinions in front of the class or public, cooperated well and respected to teachers.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the difference between the effectiveness of TTW and TPS models towards the improvement of ability in on 4th grader elementary school students. This experiment is a pseudo-experimental research. The sample of this research are 27 students of SDN Lodoyong 02 and 23 students of SDN Lodoyong 03.The data analytic used is pre-requisite test which showing the result of both groups are distributed normally and not homogeneous. The test of Independent sample T-test acquired t-count > t-table is 2,344>2,011 and score signification 0,023<0,05 which showing that Ho is refused and Ha is accepted. N-gain scoring analysis shows a student improvement after applying TTW model approximately 0,391 meanwhile after applying TPS model approximately 0,33. From the result of n-gain scoring, the difference of the two models can be seen approximately 0,061. Based on the data analysis, it's concluded that there is a difference of effectiveness which is significant. The applying of ttw model has a level of effectiveness higher than tps model towards the ability of mathematical communication on 4th grader students of elementary school.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the increase of critical thinking skills in learning Mathematics of fifth-grade students in SD N Noborejo 01 Argomulya sub-district, Salatiga. This study is a spiral action class study of the Mc. Taggart model which consists of 2 cycles, where each cycle has 4 stages, namely the stages of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting, however at the acting and observing stages were carried out at the same time. The data collection techniques carried out in this study were observation and tests. The instruments used were the observation sheet of teacher and student activities as well as a test sheet for students’ critical thinking skills. Data analysis was performed using comparative descriptive analysis, this was done by comparing the pre-cycle, cycle I and cycle II. The researcher determined the success indicator of 80% of students completing with the Minimum Criteria of Mastery Learning ≥ 70. The results showed that by applying the Problem Based Learning model students’ critical thinking skills in mathematics subjects can be improved, where it was shown that in the first cycle students’ critical thinking skills was 58.98% and in the second cycle, it increased to 97.44%. The number of students who completed the pre-cycle was 15 (38.5%) students, where it increased to 22 (56.4%) students in cycle I and increased again to 33 (84.6%) students in cycle II. The research can be said successful because it has reached a success indicator of 80% of all fifth-grade students who completed the Minimum Criteria of Mastery Learning ≥ 70. Based on these results, research with Problem Based Learning learning models can improve students’ critical thinking skills thus it influences student learning outcomes on the subject of mathematics.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pelaksanaan praktik pengalaman lapangan dengan menggunakan lesson study yang telah dilakukan peneliti. Lesson study diterapkan pada matakuliah Matematika Dasar 3 di S1 Pendidikan Matematika FMIPA Universitas Negeri Malang dengan subjek berjumlah 40 mahasiswa. Lesson study yang diterapkan terdiri dari tiga tahapan, yaitu perencanaan (plan), pelaksanaan (do), dan refleksi (see). Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan dalam menentukan alasan (reason) dari langkah atau pernyataan yang telah ia tuliskan dan mengalami kesulitan dalam membedakan penggunaan definition atau reverse definition.

Abstract

Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi yang begitu pesat khususnya dalam teknologi informasi dan komunikasi, masyarakat Indonesia perlu dibekali dengan kemampuan menganalisa, mengevaluasi, mengkritisi, dan menciptakan media yang memadai sebagai warga negara yang baik. Kenyataan terkait perkembangan teknologi tersebut membuat peneliti tertarik meneliti kesiapan masyarakat Indonesia khususnya Guru-guru sekolah dasar dalam kaitannya dengan kemampuan literasi media. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran tentang kemampuan literasi media guru-guru sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan instrumen angket untuk mengetahui tingkat literasi media guru-guru sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini melibatkan 127 sekolah dasar yang tersebar di Jawa Tengah. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tingkat kemampuan literasi media guru-guru sekolah dasar pengguna media sosial umumnya berada pada tingkat menengah.

Abstract

Penelitian pretest-posttest control group design ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui signifikansi peningkatan perilaku asertif menggunakan pendekatan behavioral dengan latihan asertif pada siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 2 Salatiga. Subyek penelitian adalah 10 siswa yang berperilaku asertif sangat rendah dan rendah. Subjek penelitian dibagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol, yang tiap kelompoknya terdiri dari 5 siswa. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah skala perilaku asertif berdasarkan Alberty dan Emmons (Nursalim, 2005). Analisis data untuk menguji perbedaan perilaku asertif siswa menggunakan analisis Mann Whitney. Perbedaanpretest dari kedua kelompok menghasilkan p = 0,602 > 0,050, artinya tidak ada perbedaan signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Dengan demikian eksperimen dapat dilanjutkan. Hasil analisis data setelah posttest, menghasilkan signifikansi perbedaan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol pada p = 0,009 < 0,050. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan behavioral dengan latihan asertif secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan perilaku asertif siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 2 Salatiga.
