Abstract

Research on place attachment (an individual's emotional bond with their environment) and pro-environmental behavior (attitudes and actions to protect the environment) is important to understand how an individual's emotional bond with their environment can influence pro-environmental behavior, especially for students. This study aims to evaluate the level of place attachment and pro-environmental behavior among junior high school students in Samarinda and examine the correlation between the two variables. This study used a quantitative approach with survey techniques. The research sample consisted of 378 junior high school students in Samarinda who were randomly selected. Data were collected using questionnaires. The results showed that the level of place attachment of junior high school students in Samarinda was 3.75 which was categorized as moderate, while the level of pro-environmental behavior was 3.58 which was also categorized as moderate. A positive but very low correlation existed between place attachment and pro-environmental behavior. This study shows the importance of considering place attachment factors in developing approaches to improve pro-environmental behavior among secondary school students.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the implementation of the policy of prohibiting the use of gadgets at SMK Negeri 1 Sigumpar and its impact on the learning process and students' ethical views in the context of Christian education. The increasingly widespread use of gadgets among students has both positive and negative impacts, including dependence on technology and potential disruption in the learning process. Using qualitative methods, data was collected through interviews with teachers, students and parents, as well as observations of the implementation of these policies in schools. The results of the research show that the policy of banning gadgets at SMK Negeri 1 Sigumpar has had a positive impact, such as increasing student concentration, reducing distractions, and increasing social interaction in the classroom. From an ethical perspective, this policy provides important lessons about managing technology in an educational context, taking into account the balance between the use of technology and the need for healthy interpersonal relationships in the school environment. Therefore, although banning gadgets provides benefits in reducing disruption to learning, schools need to consider improving facilities and teaching methods that support education without ignoring technological developments. This policy should be supported by training for teachers and students as well as parental involvement in the process of monitoring the wise use of technology.

Abstract

The personality skills that owned by a teacher play a crucial role in achieving educational goals. This personality is shaped by individual experiences, which govern one's perspective and thinking, and are reflected in behavior and accumulated in personality. This study shows that character education is essential in preparing students to become good teachers. In this regard, efforts and strategies are needed to develop good character in order to become a professional teacher. A professional teacher is not only one who relies on knowledge but also on moral qualities and must cultivate the values of a professional teacher's character. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with primary data sources consisting of interviews and surveys, and secondary data from literature reviews. The purpose of this research is to understand the strategies of first-year PGSD students in the 1C class at Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri in forming and developing character as future teachers. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of this study indicate a high level of interest and understanding among the 1C class students of Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri to become teachers who not only understand but also can implement teaching skills. The implications of this study can be used for further research development.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the extent of physical and mental readiness of sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Siangan in participating in digital learning evaluations using Kahoot. The method employed is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 31 students. The data analysis results indicate that most students demonstrate good readiness, both physically and mentally. The majority of students possess good concentration skills, a high motivation to learn, and the ability to manage stress effectively. Although many students are already accustomed to using smartphones for learning, some are still unfamiliar with digital evaluation methods. Some students also face physical challenges, such as fatigue, despite having healthy sleep and eating patterns. These findings emphasize the importance of physical and mental readiness, as well as environmental support, in ensuring the success of digital learning evaluations. Further research is expected to explore in greater depth the impact of digital evaluations on students' academic performance.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the needs in the development of ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) oriented E-LKPD (Electronic Learner Worksheet) to improve environmental literacy of grade VI elementary school students. The method used is descriptive qualitative as part of the 4D development model, focusing on the Define stage. Data were obtained through observations and interviews. Observations were conducted in class VI of SDN 25 Indralaya with 31 students, consisting of 21 boys and 10 girls. An interview was conducted with one sixth-grade teacher. The observation results showed limited technology facilities, such as projectors that were not optimal, as well as the lack of interactive learning media relevant to the concept of ESD. Interviews revealed that students were more enthusiastic about interesting and interactive media, while teachers indicated the need for learning media that support environmental literacy and active student involvement. The conclusion shows the need for ESD-oriented E-LKPD to increase student engagement and instill sustainability values. This media is expected to be an effective solution in supporting students' environmental literacy and ESD-based learning.

Abstract

SMA Negeri 1 and 2 Paringin are A-accredited schools that have produced competent, excellent, and high-achieving generations of Balangan. Therefore, this research aims to analyze whether the accreditation value truly reflects the real conditions in schools and whether there is a significant relationship between the implementation of accreditation and the improvement of educational quality and overall school performance. This research is qualitative using descriptive research methods. The subjects of the research were leaders, vice principals, and several teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Paringin and SMA Negeri 2 Paringin. The results of the study indicate that both schools have been accredited with better performance in various aspects, graduation rates, student achievements, and active participation in learning activities. It can be concluded that the implementation of accreditation at SMA Negeri 1 Paringin and SMA Negeri 2 Paringin has a positive impact on improving the quality of education, which focuses on continuous improvement, thereby improving performance as seen from increased graduation rates and student achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the obstacles experienced in efforts to ensure school quality in Tana Toraja district. A qualitative approach with a multi-case study was used in this study to obtain information from facts in the field. Data were collected using in-depth interview techniques and documentation studies to support the data obtained. The collected data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana interactive analysis model, which consists of three analysis processes, namely data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The validity of the data was tested using source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results of the study revealed that the obstacles experienced by schools included 4 aspects, namely the learning process, human resources, facilities and infrastructure, and costs. The learning process cannot be carried out effectively because schools lack the number of subject teachers, the low commitment of human resources in carrying out their duties and responsibilities causes educational activities not to achieve good quality, school facilities and infrastructure are not yet adequate for the needs of school residents, and educational financing cannot be managed properly by educational units.

Abstract

Inclusive education is an approach that guarantees the fulfillment of educational rights for all students, including Children with Special Needs. This research aims to describe the role of inclusive education in building equality for children with special needs and the school's role in supporting this equality. The research method used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of non-participation observation and semi-structured interviews at SD Aisyiyah Unggulan Gemolong. The results showed that the implementation of inclusive education in the school involved the roles of the principal, classroom teachers, and special education teachers in facilitating the development of children with special needs. The principal acts as a leader, manager, educator, and supervisor; classroom teachers implement adaptive learning methods; while special education teachers provide assistance services 2-3 times a week. This research concludes that despite facing challenges of limited resources and infrastructure, collaboration between the principal, classroom teachers, and special education teachers can create an equal educational environment. This collaborative model offers a practical approach that can be adapted by other elementary schools in implementing inclusive education, while contributing to the development of more effective inclusive education strategies in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to improve Civic Education learning outcomes through the implementation of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model, supported by snakes and ladders game media, among sixth-grade students at SD 3 Wergu Wetan. The research was conducted as Classroom Action Research (CAR), employing the Kemmis and McTaggart model over two cycles. The participants were 26 Grade VI students. Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, and tests. Initial assessments revealed that most students had kinesthetic and visual learning styles, indicating the need for active and engaging learning strategies. During the pre-cycle phase, conventional teaching methods resulted in a classical mastery level of only 65%. After applying the TGT model with the snakes and ladders game in Cycle I, the mastery level increased to 77%. Further improvements were made in Cycle II to address issues such as unequal participation among group members. In Cycle II, classical mastery reached 85%, with a notable increase in students’ average scores. The TGT model, when combined with game-based learning, fostered an enjoyable, competitive, and collaborative classroom environment. Students became more active, confident, and enthusiastic throughout the learning process. The findings indicate that this approach effectively enhances students’ cognitive learning outcomes, motivation, and participation in Civic Education. Therefore, implementing the TGT model supported by the snakes and ladders game proves to be an effective strategy for improving the quality of Civic Education instruction at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) has a strategic role in shaping students' religious character. However, the mismatch between learning methods and students' learning styles often becomes an obstacle in improving their understanding. This study aims to analyze the effect of visual, auditorial, and kinesthetic learning styles on students' understanding of PAI subjects at MAN 2 and SD Negeri 53 Banda Aceh. This study used a mixed method approach with a sequential explanatory design. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that visual learning styles dominated in MAN 2 schools as much as 45%, and SD 53 as much as 50% and produced the highest understanding when students were assisted by image, video, and infographic media. Auditorial students in MAN 2 as much as 30%, and SD 53 as much as 27.5% better understand the material through lectures, discussions, and religious audio. Meanwhile, kinesthetic students in MAN 2 (25%) and SD 53 (22.5%) showed significant improvement during practice-based learning such as worship simulations and other motor activities. This research confirms the importance of an inclusive learning approach, by adapting teaching strategies to the diversity of students' learning styles to improve their understanding holistically. In addition, the results can serve as a reference in the preparation of differentiation-based teaching tools and the development of teacher training to be more responsive to the learning characteristics of learners at various levels of education.
