Abstract

Excessive online gaming can lead to physical health problems, including poor sleep quality, insomnia, cardiovascular diseases, as well as vision and wrist problems, while such psychosocial issues as stress, anxiety, depression, and decreasing levels of life satisfaction can also occur. This systematic review aims to determine the predisposing factors responsible for online gaming addiction to become reference in the prevention efforts. An article search was systematically conducted through ProQuest, ScienceDirect, Scopus, SAGE Publication, and EBSCOhost databases of 2015 – 2020 based on established inclusion and exclusion criteria, and 14 articles identified using PRISMA guidelines fulfilled the requirements. The review of these articles found that the biological predisposing factors in online gaming addiction consist of dysfunctional impulsivity, male gender, and appetite. The psychological aspects include history of physical and verbal abuse and bullying, lack of attention, stress, anxiety, depression, low level of self-resilience, self-esteem issues, low self-control, low self-efficacy, low life expectancy, motivation, emotional intelligence, and attention from the environment. Meanwhile, the sociocultural aspects are social support and control, length of time and devices used to play online games, types of online games, vulnerable social relations, hyperactivity, dissociation, sensation seeking, adequate daily activities, and active participation in online gaming communities. Predisposing factors can become a protective factor as well as risk factor of individuals in online gaming addiction based on the applied coping mechanisms.

Abstract

More than 500,000 new patients were diagnosed with heart failure each year in all developing countries. Previous studies had shown that longer hospitalizations for patients with acute heart failure are associated with worse outcome. We analyzed factors that influence length of stay in our centre. We used a retrospective and descriptive analysis of acute heart failure patients at RSUP DR. M. Djamil from January to March 2018. We collected patient data from medical records including baseline characteristics, laboratory and echocardiographic results. We used statistical analysis to find the average length of stay (LOS) and possible causes of longer hospitalization. Among 30 patients had been collected, mean LOS was 6.23 days. Mean for age, BMI, and LVEF were 59.87 years, 23.55 kg/m2, and 36.93%, respectively. Patients those had LOS > 6 days may had relationship with initial degree edema pretibial (p=0.025) and systolic BP below 120 mmHg (p=0.018), but no significant with rales (p=0.543) and pulmonary infection (p=0.709). Length of stay associated with the degree of pretibial pitting edema and systolic blood pressure at admission.

Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) like myocardial infraction (MI) is still becoming the leading cause of morbidity and mortality and major problem in our healthcare system. Nowadays, revolution in high-tech medical treatment alongside with well-trained staff could decrease adverse event in ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patient. However, in developing country like Indonesia, those still become a challenge. Fibrinolytic therapy is still common practice even though primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI) preferred. Intracranial bleeding is one of the most unfavorable effect after fibrinolytic therapy. Clinical should aware with clinical deterioration. Here we present case series of deadly intracranial haemorrhage in STEMI patient after fibrinolytic therapy.

Abstract

Indonesia Basic Health Research Data in 2018 shows that smokers in the 10-18 years age group increased to 9.1%. The phenomenon of smoking in adolescents in Indonesia has touched on educational institutions such as pesantren, where students are found to have smoked from an early age. This study aims to review the influence of students' perceptions of cigarettes based on smoking habits, cigarette advertisements and the image of cigarette companies to the smoking behaviour in students at Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School. This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional study design using 40 students as research samples. We use modified structured questionnaire from the Smoke-Free Agents. Research shows 62.5% of students are active smokers. Based on the bivariate test, we found a relationship between perceptions of smoking habits and perceptions of cigarette advertising (p-value <0.05) to the smoking behaviour. In addition, we found that there is no relationship to the perception of the image of the cigarette company (p-value> 0.05). This study found a high percentage of students who smoked in the Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School. Students' perceptions of smoking habits and students' perceptions of cigarette advertisements are related to students' smoking behaviour. The denormalization of cigarette products needs to be carried out by Islamic Boarding School Management to control smokers among students and prevent adolescent’s smoker.

Abstract

One of the microbes that causes acute diarrhea is bacteria. Vibrio cholerae is one that causes diarrhea called cholera diarrhea. Cholera diarrhea is caused by enterotoxins produced by these bacterial colonies in the small intestine. Giving antibiotics is still the main choice in the treatment and treatment of diarrhea because it is expected to kill bacteria and will usually stop diarrhea. Irrational use and the existence of abuse and excessive use of antibiotics can be a factor that causes bacterial resistance to antibiotics. Tests carried out to determine the sensitivity of bacteria to an antibiotic. Vibrio cholerae isolate was regrowed in alkaline peptone (APW) water medium and incubated at 37ºC for 18-24 hours, then planted in the thiosulfate-citrate-bile-sucrose (TCBS) medium. The sensitivity test was carried out on V. cholerae bacterial colonies growing on TCBS agar medium with the Disk Diffusion Method from Kirby Bauer. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that most V. cholerae isolates were still sensitive to all types of antibiotics used in the test. Vibrio cholerae has shown resistance to Colistin antibiotics that is equal to 88.2%, Ampicillin at 23.5% and Ceftazidime at 5.9%. The level of resistance to antibiotics that are still low indicates that the antibacterial group can still be used as an alternative in the treatment of cholera diarrhea.

Abstract

Overtraining syndrome is a decrease in physical capacity, emotions and immunity due to training that is too often without adequate periods of rest. Overtraining is often experienced by athletes who daily undergo heavy training with short break periods. This research aims to look at the effect of overtraining aerobic physical exercise on memory in mice. The research method was experimental in vivo with the subject of adult male rat (Rattus Norvegicus) Winstar strain aged 8-10 weeks, body weight 200-250 gr. Divided into three groups, namely the control group, aerobic group and overtraining group. The results of memory tests with water E Maze showed an increase in the duration of travel time and the number of animal errors made by the overtraining group (p = 0.003). This study concludes that overtraining aerobic physical exercise can reduce memory in rat hippocampus.

Abstract

This study uses a systematic method of review and meta-analysis to look at the risk of smoking with stroke in Asia. Further analysis based on the stroke subtype (ischemic stroke and haemorrhagic stroke was also carried out. Literature search was carried out in the PubMed, EBSCO and Google Scholar databases. Q tests were performed to determine the heterogeneity of included studies. Funnel plot, Egger regression test and trim and fill methods were used to identified publication bias and with the transformation of the model between the fixed effect model and the random effect model for sensitivity analysis A total of 12 articles were included consisting of 9 studies with case control design studies and 3 studies with cohort designs. The meta-analysis results showed that people who smoke have risks pooled OR 2.04 times (95% CI 1.57-2.65) for having a stroke Analysis of the type of stroke, smokers had 2.3 times the risk of having an ischemic stroke or 2.77 times for having a haemorrhagic stroke. Eggers test showed no influence of publication bias on the meta-analysis of smoking with stroke to. From this meta-analysis, it can be concluded that smoking increasing risk for stroke. This study found the risk of smokers to have a haemorrhagic stroke is higher than ischemic stroke.
