Abstract

The research examines the integration of Sufi principles into modern education to enhance students' mental health. It talks about how people are becoming more and more worried about students' mental health issues, like stress, anxiety, and depression, which can be made worse by schoolwork and cultural expectations. This study explains the potential of Sufi principles, such as patience, humility, self-control, and remembrance of God (dhikr), in nurturing emotional well-being and providing a holistic approach to mental health. Sufism emphasizes inner peace, the practice of ethics, and spiritual development, which complement cognitive-based education systems that often neglect emotional and spiritual health. The research employed a literature review methodology to examine recent studies concerning Sufism, mental health, and education. The findings indicate that Sufi practices such as mindfulness and self-reflection can alleviate anxiety and regulate emotions. By incorporating these principles into school culture and curriculum, students can learn to handle problems better, become more emotionally intelligent, and develop better attitudes. This study shows that integrating Sufi principles into education can enhance the learning environment, foster student support and satisfaction, and help address academic and mental health challenges. This means that future teaching methods should include the spiritual side of students' well-being, which will help them grow in all areas, including their minds, emotions, and spirits. This method could change how schools work now to improve the mental health of all the students. Highlights: Dhikr- and muraqabah-oriented contemplative practice aligns with mindfulness and is associated with reduced anxiety and better emotion regulation. Embedding spiritual–ethical principles within the curriculum and institutional ethos is linked to stronger coping capacity, emotional intelligence, and constructive attitudes. A synthesized framework connects Islamic spirituality with contemporary psychological techniques and clarifies educator–family–environment roles in implementation. Abstract

Education plays a strategic role in shaping superior and competitive human resources. To achieve this goal, the leadership of the madrasah principal is crucial, not only as an administrator but also as a visionary leader capable of mobilizing and inspiring teachers as well as the entire school community. This study aims to analyze transformational and innovative leadership strategies implemented by principals of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) in Cilegon City to improve teacher performance. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted at MAN 1 and MAN 2 Cilegon. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation review. The findings reveal that transformational leadership is manifested through a participatory long-term vision, inspirational motivation, teacher career development, planned change management, and effective communication and collaboration. Meanwhile, innovative leadership is reflected in openness to new ideas, creativity in problem-solving, adaptability to change, and teacher empowerment based on strong values and ethics. The implementation of both strategies has proven to enhance teachers’ pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies, while also encouraging active participation in continuous professional development. This study concludes that the combination of transformational and innovative leadership constitutes an effective strategy for creating a conducive work environment and improving the quality of education in madrasah. Highlights: Leadership practices combined long-term participatory vision with structured change management and ethical foundations. Open innovation systems and participatory decision-making supported continuous professional growth among educators. An integrated leadership framework emerged as a reference model for Islamic secondary education institutions. Abstract

This study analyses the implementation of Google Docs in supporting deep learning among students using the SOLO Taxonomy in the Development of Evaluation Systems and PAI Learning Outcomes course. Twelve students participated in this qualitative case study. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that Google Docs enables real-time collaboration that facilitates student development from unistructural and multistructural levels to relational levels. However, the digital divide and unequal participation limit progress to higher extended abstract levels. This study confirms that digital collaborative tools aligned with the SOLO Taxonomy can support cognitive development when supported by appropriate infrastructure and teaching. To realise the full potential of deep and equitable learning, educational practices must prioritise digital learning policies, SOLO Taxonomy support, and a culture of sustainable collaboration. Highlights: Real-time document collaboration supported structured cognitive progression within group learning activities. Most students demonstrated integrated conceptual understanding at relational cognitive levels. Infrastructure limitations and uneven participation constrained higher-order knowledge generalisation.
