Abstract

Ambon City is one of the cities with a relatively high flood disaster intensity. This study aims to analyze the factors that cause flooding and determine the vulnerability of flooding. The method is based on a geographic information system (GIS) by integrating secondary and primary data. Parameters analyzed include elevation, rainfall, slope, soil type, and land use. Study results show that the factors causing flooding in Ambon City include relatively high-intensity rains, land use patterns dominated by mixed gardens, slopes in lowland areas, low elevations, and soil types easily inundated with water. The flood hazard zone is divided into three classes, namely high, medium, and low hazard zones. Areas with high vulnerability are 2,251.3 ha (6.99%) of the total area of the study area. For this reason, the community and the Ambon City government need to pay attention to this area in dealing with flood disasters.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the meaning and philosophical values ​​of the khanduri maulod tradition in Acehnese society. This type of research is a qualitative research using an ethnographic approach. This research was conducted in Krueng Juli Timu Village, Bireuen District, Aceh Province. The informants in this study were Gampong Geuchiek, Gampong Imum, Youth Leaders, Members of the Aceh Traditional Council, and community leaders. Data collection techniques consist of observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out through; analysis, domain, taxonomic analysis, componential analysis, and analysis of cultural themes. The results of the research show that: 1) the values ​​contained in khanduri maulod include; religious values, social values, sincere values, mutual cooperation values, deliberation values, unity values, cultural values, and economic values, 2) the meaning contained in khanduri Maulod is a form of expression of love and affection for the Prophet Muhammad, S.A.W and establishing a relationship silaturrahmi between fellow villagers and invited guests. .

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) explore school culture, 2) describe the meaning of school culture, 3) describe school cultural values. This type of research is a qualitative research using an ethnographic approach. This research was conducted at Sawang 11 State Elementary School, North Aceh District. The informants of this research are school principals, teachers, education staff, and students. Data collection techniques include; observation, interview and documentation. Data analysis techniques include; 1) domain analysis, 2) taxonomic analysis, 3) componential analysis and, 4) cultural theme analysis. The results showed that first, the school culture developed at Sawang 11 Public Elementary School consisted of religious culture, literacy culture, adiwiyata culture and social culture. Second, the meaning of school culture at Sawang 11 Public Elementary School was character building and school quality improvement, third, the values ​​contained in the school culture include; the value of piety, the value of responsibility, the creative value, the independent value, the value of loving the environment, the value of beauty, the value of empathy and the value of togetherness/kinship.

Abstract

The potential of forest areas in Nagari Rabbi Jonggor to store carbon has not been studied, so there is no data on carbon stock storage and the estimated potential of oxygen produced. In order to quantify the potential of forest resources, specifically carbon and oxygen reserves produced, the author conducted a study on estimating carbon stocks and oxygen potential in the Nagari Rabbi Jonggor forest area. And this study aims to determine the forest use value of Nagari Rabi Jonggor Area, Gunung Tuleh District, West Pasaman Regency. This research was conducted in Nagari Rabi Jonggor Nagari Rabi Jonggor is one of the 19 main nagari in West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra Province. Nagari Robi Jonggor is located in Gunung Tuleh District, West Pasaman Regency with an area of 289.98 km3 or 63.88% of the area of Gunung Tuleh District. The time of the study will be in May 2023. The method used is allometric using a plot system. The tools and materials used in this study are phi bands (measuring tapes), plastic ropes measuring 100 meters and 20 meters, plant scissors, analytical scales, pilox (to mark trees that have been measured) haga hypsometer, calculators, cameras, herbal equipment, tally sheets, GPS, compasses, clinometers, measuring instruments. The results showed that it can be seen that the total amount of biomass (Y) produced from the measurement is 7550.14. Where the tree that produces the largest biomass is a tree with a local name of rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) in sample 1 with a total biomass of 5294.23 and a tree that produces the lowest biomass is a tree species with a local name of rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) in sample II with a total biomass of 209.45. and it can be seen that the total amount of biomass (Y) produced from the dilangan measurement is 7550.14. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the suitability of oil palm plants in the Gunung Tuleh sub-district and overlay mapping of the suitability level of oil palm plants. The technique used is scoring analysis to provide an assessment of each land unit, the data used is secondary data processed from soil type map data. rainfall maps, slope maps, elevation maps, land use maps, geomorphological maps and river distance maps. Based on the results of map overlays or a combination of several land suitability maps in Tuleh Mountain, it is classified into 4 classifications namely; 1) not suitable (S1) has an area area around 23547.02 ha; 2) very suitable (S2) has an area of ​​10462.06 ha; 3) quite suitable (S3) has an area of ​​5245.81 ha; 4) According to the marginal area, it has an area of ​​9915.20 ha. So planting oil palm in Gunung Tuleh is not all areas that can be planted with oil palm because it has to consider the assessment of the valuation of a land so that the results of oil palm fruit production are maximized.

Abstract

This study aims toanalyze the sustainability of the Bukit Tui area of Padangpanjang City in a multidimensional manner based on ecological, economic, social, institutional and technological dimensions. The data used are primary data, analyzed using a multidimensional scaling (MDS) analysis approach, developed into the Rapfish (Rapid Appraisal of Fisheries) application, Leverage analysis and Monte Carlo analysis and secondary data obtained from the results of field conservation and literature review and related agencies. This research consists of 38 attributes from five dimensions, namely ecological, economic, social, technological and institutional dimensions. The results showed: based on calculations using the multidimensional scalling method, it was formulated that the sustainability status of the Bukit Tui area was multidimensionally in the fairly sustainable category with a value of 50.60 on a sustainability scale of 0-100, with a stress value of 0.132 and R2 0.95. Each dimension has a fairly sustainable sustainability value with a range of values between 41.68 to 54.21. The ecological dimension has the lowest sustainability value, which is 41.68 is included in the less sustainable category and the institutional dimension has the highest sustainability value, which is 54, 21 is included in the moderately sustainable category, then followed by the technological dimension 41.98 is included in the less sustainable category, the social dimension is 52.10 and the economic dimension is 52.83 is included in the moderately sustainable category

Abstract

Improving the quality of student writing through guided inquiry-based paraphrasing activities, where students are actively involved in the learning process and encouraged to gain a deeper understanding of the topic being studied. The holistic guided inquiry approach can provide benefits in improving students' paraphrasing skills by placing them as active subjects in the learning process. The method used in this study is based on the syntax of the guided inquiry learning model, which was implemented on 30 senior students in the geography education program Pattimura University. The study was then evaluated to determine the significance and impact of the implementation process towards the research objective of improving student writing quality through paraphrasing skills. The results showed that the improvement in students' skills by applying the guided inquiry model had a significant impact, as seen from the evaluation results of the pre-test and post-test. Furthermore, after conducting significance testing through the Wilcoxon test, the asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.000, which means that the value is less than 0.05. This indicates a significant improvement in students' paraphrasing understanding through the guided inquiry method, and it was effective in being implemented by 80% of the students.

Abstract

West Sumatra has promising tourism potential because it has the potential for natural beauty, cultural and culinary attractions. One of them is Padang Pariaman Regency which has seven beach and island tourist attractions. Besides having tourism potential, West Sumatra Province also has a very high potential disaster risk. Padang Pariaman Regency has a very high level of tsunami disaster risk. The fact that the potential risk of tsunami disaster is very high and the potential for beach tourism is also high can hamper and disrupt the lives and livelihoods of the community. The purpose of the study was to determine the level of preparedness of visitors in facing a tsunami disaster along the coast, in this case the research locus was Panjang Beach Nagari Ketaping. This research method is descriptive quantitative with purposive sampling calculation technique using tourism object visitor preparedness index analysis which consists of four parameters which include knowledge and attitude factors, emergency response plans, warning systems, and resource mobilization. The results showed that the level of preparedness of visitors to Ketaping Beach tourism objects against earthquake and tsunami disasters was dominated by the level of preparedness "less prepared" with a percentage of 42%. While the smallest is the "very prepared" preparedness category with a percentage of 2%. Thus it can be concluded that there are still many visitors to Ketaping Beach tourism objects who have not prepared themselves for earthquake and tsunami disasters that can occur at any time. So that visitors to the Ketaping Beach tourist attraction are expected to make mitigation efforts both actively and passively by increasing capacity independently such as training and disaster socialization and already knowing information on the level of risk of earthquakes and tsunamis at the location of the tourist attraction they will visit.

The method used is a historical and qualitative method with the type of research carried out is field research.
