Abstract

Abstract: The growth of tin oxide thin film by Aluminum doping and Fluorine has been carried out with the sol-gel spin coating technique. The growth aims to determine the quality of the thin layer formed based on variations in doping aluminum and fluorine. The basic ingredients used were SnCl2.2H2O, while the doping materials used were Al (Aluminium) and F (Fluorine) with variations in dopant concentrations (0, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25)%. The growth of a thin layer using measured glass (10x10x 3) mm as a substrate. The growth of thin films includes substrate preparation, sol-gel making, thin film making, and heating processes. The growth of thin layer was dripped on a glass substrate with sol-gel spin coating technique at 1 M sol concentration and treated with maturation for 24 hours. The next step is making a thin layer using a spin coater at a speed of 2000 rpm for 3 minutes. After that, the substrate is heated in an oven at 100°C for 60 minutes. The results showed that the transparency level of the tin oxide layer increases with increasing amounts of doping Aluminum and fluorine. Key words: Aluminum, Fluorine, Sol-gel, Spin Coating, Thin Film, Tin Oxide

Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to determine the structure of disaster mitigation learning in elementary schools. It is Research and Development also known as RnD study. This research gives a real-life example of how a teacher can teach and embed the awareness about natural disasters in an uncomplicated and fun way, by using the disaster mitigation model of teaching. The study results in one design of a disaster mitigation model of teaching and a teaching structure implementing a scientific approach on disaster mitigation. This research is based on the development and real-life experience of the researcher team in teaching and doing observation and research on the headmaster, teachers, and the students of Mataram 6 elementary school. It is the pilot project of this research, which in return will be implemented in other schools in the urban, coastal area, as well as the mountainous area in Lombok Island. The result shows that the headmaster and the teachers’ response towards the disaster mitigation model of teaching had been really positive, with only 5% of the teachers claims that they are interested, whilst the other 95% claim that the study is extremely interesting for them. The students were very enthusiastic and active during the learning process. Besides, the claim to have meaningful benefit from this mitigation learning. This thus indicated that this mitigation model of teaching and learning can be used as a guide or reference in embedding the awareness for natural disasters among the school community.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the availability and use of science learning media in class 6th of Catholic private elementary schools at Langke Rembong District. This research method is in the form of a survey that focuses on two things, namely the availability and use of science learning media. The study was conducted to all the science teachers in class 6th totaling 46 teachers as a population, then the data were only taken from 23 teachers as a sample selected purposively. Instruments used were questionnaires, checklists, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the availability of science learning media in those schools were sufficient. However, many media were in damaged conditions. Those happened because they were stored, not used. Most teachers were not trained to use that media and had no initiative to solve the problem. Therefore, in terms of utilization, only good media is utilized to its full potential.
