Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the effectivity of integrated crop-beef cattle to reach the food tenacity on Tanjungharjo village, Nanggulan Kulon Progo. Sixty four repondens were taken in a random sampling from four hamlets (Dengok, Klajuran, Tanggulangin dan Tanjung Gunung). The data were tabulated and analyzed descriptively. This research showed that the average area that are owned for rice field, yard and land were 1.159 m2, 1.798,1 m2, dan 674,6 m2 respectively. The average of beef cattle owned was 1,42 UT with the aim of raising cattle was 68,75% as main effort. From the field area 145,45 Ha, used for rice plant, peanut, soybean, corn, cassava, watermelon and chili. The waste of agriculture i.e. the straw used for their cattle. The respondents which use the straw for feed their beef cattle was 95,31% but 4,69% was not. The productivity of beef cattle was still low, with calving interval 16,78 months, S/C 2,51 and average of body weight 315 kg. Based on this research, with the number of cattle 90,63 UT and faeces production 21,6 kg/day, produced the faeces 1,957.61 kg/day, 3% of faeces was sold and 97% was used for fertilizer. It could be concluded that the effectivity level of integrated crop-beef cattle is high.

Abstract

The research concerning about the toxicity of Wedusan extract leaves on Cabbage-heart caterpillar (Crocidolomia binotalis Zeller) has been conducted in the Laboratory of Plant Protection and Green House of Agriculture Faculty, Sebelas Maret University Surakarta. The experiment was initiated in January 2006 until January 2007.The experimental design was a randomized complete with four replications. Toxicity of Wedusan leaves extract was tested at two stages. The first stage test consisted by six level concentrations, there were 0, 50, 100, 200, 400 and 800 g dried wedusan extract leaves (DWEL)/l distillated water. The second test was primarily experiment consisted by seven level concentration, were 0; 31,25; 62,5; 125; 250; 500 and 1000 g dried wedusan extract leaves (DWEL)/l distillated water. Those experiments used by Leaf Deep Bioassay method. The treatment on green mustard by spraying method was to know effectiveness of Wedusan leaves extract as botanical pesticide if it would be applied on crop. The concentrations were used in this experiment was 0, 67.5, 300, 600, and 900 g DWEL/l distillated water. The result of this experiment showed that the wedusan leaves extract was toxic for C. binotalis larvae. Explanation of Wedusan leaves extract at 250 g/l able to reduce 44.83% of pupation. 56% of adult emergences, 45.3 egg production, 72.66 hatched larvae, and 42.3 eggs hatched. Wedusan leaves extract sprayed at level concentration 900 g/l effective to reduce the adult emergence.

Abstract

This research was conducted to describe condition of goat carrying capacity, with pen efficiency, tree leaves and water availibility so goat carrying capacity sustainability of Etawa Crossbreed goat at Yogyakarta can be known. It located in Nganggring, Kemiri Kebo and Sukorejo subvillage taken with purposive sampling method. Analytical tool used was table analysis. Limited labor in raising caused dominant management by head of household that make the goat cannot meet pen density standard. Tree leaves availibility in village group system is not sufficient for existed goats so farmer should look for tree leaves input from public area. Sandy land and often land slide make naturally uncontinuous water availibility. Although carrying capacity of goat in village group system pen, tree leaves, and water is not efficient, pen and tree leaves have met sustainability of Etawa crossbreed goat in village group system while water availibility have not supported sustainability.

Abstract

Purpose shifting of forest dominated with tress for becoming agriculture land of annual cropping can not be implemented in arbitrary slope declivity. The slope declivity above 30% or even 45% obviously needs to be maintained for perrenials plant. Therefore, it is necessary to know about the plant genre existing in many slope levels in western side of Lawu Mountain in order to give recommendation for the society and local government in creating rule directed to the forest and land preservation. The results of the survey show that: 1) the decrease of a place height from about 1500 m usl to 100 m usl and 700 m usl can change the vegetation community of perrenial plant to become more various, 2) the vegetation in the height of 1500 m is dominated by pine then Ceiba sp. and high-land vegetables, 3) the vegetation in the height of about 1000 m usl  is dominated by clove, then followed by several wooden plant and tropical fruit plant, 4) in the lower height that is 700 m usl the vegetation is dominated by bamboo, jackfruit, coconut, Tectona sp., and Swietenia sp., and 5) the use of tilt land for cultivating annual plant happens at the height of 1500 m usl, the vegetation is dominated by high-land vegetables.

There is aim even this research it to get naungan’s zoom and den manure measuring that nicest for ganyong’s growth and result.Design that is utilized is Split Plots 3x3 one be arranged in Slot Design is divided. Its main slot (main plots) are level consisting of naungan 3 (three) border which is N0=naungan 0% (without naungan), N25=naungan 25% and N50=naungan 50%. Its slot child (plotted sub) are measuring manure consisting of den 3 (three) border which is P0,5=10 tons/ha; P1,0=20 tons/ha and P1,5=30 tons/ha.Observed variable high cover plant, total leaf, total anakan, plants fresh weight, far ranging leaf, rimpang’s weight, rimpang’s diameter, long rimpang, rimpang’s colour, rimpang’s spreading character.Equired data of yielding observational analyzed with variant of analysis on trusty ladder 95% and if available reality difference among conduct therefore drawned out by Duncan New’s quiz’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) on bias ladder 5%.Of research result can be concluded that 1) naungan 50% constitute nicest naungan zoom for ganyong’s vegetative growth, 2) naungan 25% constitute nicest naungan zoom for rimpang’s result (weight, long and rimpang’s diameter), 3) measuring manure den 30 tons/ha constitutes den mnaure measuring that nicest for ganyong’s growth and result, and 4) production sharing the best one combine rimpang on naungan’s conduct 25% and den manure as big as 300 tons/ha (1,5 kg/plants).

Abstract

Roselle has been popular, because of the calyx become to medicated with high nutrient. The calyx are rich in ascorbic acid and also highly antioxidant. The seed of roselle are high in protein and fatty oil. Therefore the purpose of the research was increased of roselle calyx and seed yield. The research was carried out in Kec. Ngaglik Sleman-Yogyakarta at March-August 2008. The experiment was arranged in factorial, Randomized Complete Block Design, Phospat fertilizer (0, 100, 200 and 300 kg/ha) and Organic liquid fertilizers (0, 1, 2 and 3 cc/l water/plant). Result of the research showed that; 1) the high of the number and dry weight of the roselle calyx at P fertilizer, 200 kg/ha was combined with organic liquid fertilizer 10x2 cc/l water/plant, 2) P fertilizer, 100 kg/ha only was produced high seed yield per plant and high weight of the 1.000 of seed on 200 kg/ha or organic liquid fertilizer 10x2 cc/l water/plant, 3) the high of the Vit. C content of the roselle calyx on organic liquid fertilizer 10x1 cc/l water/plant of P fertilizer, 300 kg/ha only. Roselle has been popular, because of the calyx become to medicated with high nutrient.
