Abstract

This paper extends previous study of batch sizing and sequencing problems in flow line production system. We develop a new model to optimize the batch size and sequence in two-stage production system. The previous study optimizes the same decision variables but for single-stage production system. In this study, stage 1 has one machine and makes a batch of N types of component with different size for each type. Stage 2 also has single assembling facility and assembles those batch of components into a batch of single type of final product. Each type of component has a different setup time and setup cost, and each batch offinal products has constant setup time and constant setup cost. Optimum batch size and optimum sequence will minimize average production cost per unit time.

Abstract

Some people made a wrong concept about Business Process Reengineering (BPR). Some were misunderstanding about the BPR term. In other way, so many researches were introduced to describe a better definition about BPR. The thinking about concepts, causes, and effects of BPR will make a new perception about the term ofBPR itselfas a better methodology instead ofthe other Quality Management Methodology such as Total Quality Management (TQM). Abstract

As globalization of markets raises competitive pressures, one essential requirement for the survival of organizations is their capability to meet competition. Market needs cause unceasing changes in the life cycle, shape, quality and price of products. Manufacturing flexibility is an effective way to face up to the uncertainties of this rapidly changing environment and it is defined as the ability to absorb various disturbances which occur in production systems, as well as the ability to incorporate and exploit new technological advances and work practices. The aim ofthis paper is to measure capability and requirement offlexibility in manufacturing system. We propose Objective Matrix (OMAX) and Entropy integration method to measure flexibility.

Abstract

CV. Titian Mandiri is an in-package drinking water manufacturer with brand name “Ciryo” locating in Karanganyar. The presence of problem indication results in inefficiency of proceeding business process, particularly in business process flow of production, warehouse, shipment, marketing, and financial divisions. This makes an analysis and evaluation on business process performance and integrated business process redesign conducted so that the company performance will be optimum. This study began with mapping business process in the form of flow diagram for identifying the company’s business activities. Then performance measurement was conducted based on model developed by Beamon (1999). This model analyzes three measurement variables: resource, process and output for finding out the factors resulting in inefficiency of the business process. Performance improvement was conducted by redesigning the business process procedure based on concept Business Process Reengineering. Basic steps of BPR involves rethink, redesign and retool. Standardization of the resulting business process based on cross-divisional activities interrelationship involves marketing, production, logistic, and financial modules. Based on redesign as a proposal for dealing with performance inhibition, it is used an integrated business process design for each module developed.

Abstract

This research evaluate the second data coming from operator report daily. The second data obtained from glue winding machine group, the calculation is conducted by calculating mean production capacities in 1 shift work during 6 month. This calculation uses the assumption that mean production capacities executed by the same raw material in producing manner of geometry of design product done by worker. Approach model uses the graeco-latin square to test anova at level significance 5% from worker skill. The result from this research that worker evacuation from machinery facility to other machinery facility at same job station, have to pay attention to the skilled ability ofworker.

Abstract

Abstract

Logistics costs related to effectiveness and efficiency of product flow. Logistics costing conducted based on total cost approach as structured approach to determine the total costs of products or services. The bottled water manufacture in Surakarta, total cost determination of company’s products exactless to explain resources absorbtion by product. This research implements activity-based costing (ABC) system to calculate total costs of product exactly and accurately. ABC system orientated that activity supporting product flow from procurement up to product marketing. ABC system allocates the resources to activities. Then, total product cost determined from activities cost traced to product as object costs based on suitable cost drivers.

Abstract

Enterprise uses ERP systems with considering four rationales namely technology, competitive, business process, and strategic. Evolution of ERP: 1960’s (Inventory Control), 1970’s (MRP-Material Requirement Planning), 1980’s (MRP II–Manufacturing Resources Planning), Mid 1990’s (ERP– Enterprise Resource Planning), 2000 onwards (ERP II–Collaborative Commerce). ERP systems is a software solution that addresses the enterprise needs. It takes the process view of an organization to meet the organizational goals and tightly integrates all functions in that organization. The frequently module in ERP used by companies is financial and accounting. ERP solutions could be developed by using internal resources, buy, and using external resources. Measurement of ERP project considers on intangible factors, hidden outcomes and the changing nature ofinformation technology.
