Abstract

"Books are the windows to the world" is a very common phrase heard. There are so many benefits to be gained from reading the books. From the books, the readers can get information, knowledge, or even a new experience very rewarding. But what is happening now is the public interest of Indonesians is still relatively low. Indonesia’s rank only third from bottom in the ASEAN region. Many people are lazy to go to the libraries and the bookstores because it is considered boring. Therefore, the existence of a book center which is more recreational as a reading place becomes necessary. From these issues, the problem that appears is how to design an expression of space and shape of the building that accommodates the activities of libraries to the concept of a recreational and informative to then be translated into the design Book Centre in Surakarta. The method used in the form of architectural design methods, ranging from data collection and then analyzed based on functional programming, programming performance and architectural analysis. Recreational and Informative concept applied to the shape of the building and expression of space in this Book Center, so it can bring the design of the building that can accommodate all the activities related to the book include reading, information, distribution, promotion, socialization, and discussion to fulfill the people’s need of books and also as a public space to create social interaction for them. Book Centre is planned to be more recreational and informative so as can attract people to come and to increase public interest of reading book which is still very low in a pleasant atmosphere by displaying the characteristic of recreational and informative. Abstract

The density of urban network occurs due to the society temporary relocation in a short distance. Yogyakarta is one of the cities that has a high network  density  with working as the most dominant society movement patterns. Yogyakarta now also implementing the concept of city development based on information and communication technology (ICT) as stated in Yogyakarta Cyber City since 2005. The application of ICT in Yogyakarta has been done in the administration sector (e-government) and several other society service, in which the application of ICT allows some changes in the pattern of society movement. The purpose of this research was to determine the impact of ICT application toward the changing patterns of society movement seen from the condition of before and after the use of ICT in accessing various social services sector. This research was conducted throughout 14 districts in Yogyakarta and also in several service sectors necesarry for the people. Methods applied to determine the changes of  society movement pattern as a result of ICT application was reviewed based on the variable of service sector performance, the level of ICT used by the public, the number of people’s destination of their respective service sector, and also the quantity of movement among society zones seen from the point of origin and the destination point. The result of the research proved that there are changes in the society movement patterns at the decline the network density indicated by the decline of the number of people’s destination and by the decrease in the network density path, and also the decrease in the movement quantity among society zones which proves the theory of movement decline from the suburbs area to urban area. The application of ICT in several service sectors has enabled people to access the service at anytime and anywhere easily. However, the application of ICT in Yogyakarta has limited human resources in operating the service, and this make the number of society movement can not be completely substituted by the application of ICT. Keywords: Cyber City, ICT Use, Movement Patterns, E-Government

Abstract

ASEAN Economy Community is a great opportunity for each country in ASEAN to expand its economy. These opportunities are not only related to trade market, but also in services market, experts, investment and capital flows. However behind these opportunities, not a few countries in ASEAN respond the open market or free market of ASEAN become a threat. Badan Ekonomi Kreatif (Bekraf) was established as a government effort to overcome ASEAN free market, which creative economy is Indonesia economy focus nowadays. Since was establishes at early 2015, Bekraf has been quite instrumental in moving the creative economy in Indonesia. Headquarter planning becomes important not only to facilitate Bekraf, but also supports the development of creative economy in Indonesia to compete in the free market of ASEAN. But now in the planning and design issues have become more widespread, namely environmental problems. Jakarta as government center, the location of the site is a crowded city, have limited land, little green open space, and a variety of other environmental problems. These conditions make the construction of new buildings in Jakarta becomes irrelevant.  Sustainable Architecture approach is right solution because this approach has the ability to address environmental issues with sustainable resources which aims to improve the quality of the natural and human. The problem in this design is how to present principle of Sustainable Architecture at office and commercial building typology. Planning and design Bekraf Headquarter use connectivity, indigenous, and long life, loose fit methods which are three principle of Sustainable Architecture. Design applications of Sustainable Architecture at Bekraf Headquarter processed through strategy of Sustainable Architecture, those are sustainable land use, sustainable material, sustainable energy, sustainable water, sustainable health and well-being, and sustainable community. The strategy of Sustainable Architecture building design embodies a minimal pavement at the site, the contours of landscape, using modular and renewable materials, rosters design and mass openness to optimize cross ventilation and natural lighting, wastewater treatment pond design, structuring elements of vegetation, accessibility design, building automation systems, as well as the design of corridors into public spaces. Keywords: Badan Ekonomi Kreatif, Connectivity, Creative Economy, Indigenous, Long Life, Loose Fit, Sustainable Architecture
