Abstract

The Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4, have been developed and implemented by various educational institutions around the world. As an agent of development, the Indonesian University of Education (UPI)  has the potential to develop and implement ESD, especially through the use of UPI botanical garden. The purpose of this study is to develop a program and measure its effectiveness in terms of  ESD capacity and ecotourism potential. This research is a development study using the ADDIE approach in which 74  teacher candidates participated. Program development was successfully implemented by creating: (1) 5 learning resource posts; (2) Botanical ECO gamification learning flow;  (3) 5 practical activities; (4) five games that integrated gamification elements; (5) Botanical ECO-Gamification Guidebook; and (6) Instruments to evaluate program effectiveness in terms of ESD competencies and conceptual mastery. The research results showed that the developed instrument  had high validity and reliability, and was suitable for use (19 items). The Botanical ECO gamification program was rated in the good category for improving collaboration competency (80,41)  and in the good category for self-awareness competency (78,77). The implementation of the Botanical ECO gamification program to develop ESD was rated as very well received by students (85.81). The program was rated as excellent (82,17) or eligible of being one of the ecotourism programs on the UPI campus.

Abstract

Utilization of plants as food ingredients represents local wisdom and cultural richness that needs to be preserved. Preservation of this knowledge can be achieved through educational media. This research aims to produce valid learning media and measure positive responses from students. It follows the Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE development model consisting of 5 stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Instruments used include observation sheets, interview sheets, questionnaires, and validation sheets. Validation results from subject matter experts achieved 87.58% (very valid), media experts 96.66% (very valid), and language experts 89.99% (very valid). Students responded very positively in small-scale trials with 89.1% and large-scale trials with 93.7%. The research results indicate that the plant encyclopedia used in the traditional cuisine of Sekadau District is suitable for learning and receives positive feedback from students.

Abstract

Student Activity Sheets (SAS) are teaching materials that are systematically and interestingly arranged in the learning process. In this case, the results of the study are used as material for compiling SAS. The study aims to determine the potential of SAS teaching materials from the results of the study on the effect of crude Bacillus subtilis enzyme concentration on sugar and ethanol content from bagasse fermentation using Zymomonas mobilis , the effect of crude Bacillus subtilis enzyme concentration on sugar and ethanol content from bagasse fermentation using Zymomonas mobilis , and the concentration of crude Bacillus subtilis enzyme that has the most influence on sugar and ethanol content from bagasse fermentation using Zymomonas mobilis . The research was conducted in 2 stages, the first was an experimental study conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with the independent variable being the concentration of crude Bacillus subtilis enzyme, namely 0; 2.5; 5; 7.5; 10; 12.5; 15; 17.5% and the dependent variable being the sugar and ethanol content of the fermented sugarcane bagasse using Zymomonas mobilis . Measurement of sugar content used the DNS method, while measurement of ethanol content used an alcohol meter. Second, the preparation of SAS used the ADDIE development model which was modified to ADDE. The data from the experimental research results were analyzed using the One Way ANOVA test, while the preparation of SAS was analyzed using quantitative descriptions.. The results of the study showed that the SAS results of the study on the sugar and ethanol content of the results of the study of sugarcane bagasse using Zymomonas mobilis were categorized as very good to be used as teaching materials for biotechnology materials. The concentration of crude Bacillus subtilis enzyme that had the most influence on the sugar and ethanol content of the fermentation results of sugarcane bagasse using Zymomonas mobilis was in treatment 4 with a concentration of 10%, namely 0.67 g/mL and the highest ethanol content, namely 1.89%.

Abstract

This research explores innovation in learning through the integration of information technology, particularly e-modules for teaching animal structure laboratories using Canva. Using an R&D approach with the 4-D development model, the study involved 3 validators and 17 students at Lancang Kuning University. Data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively, indicating high levels of validity for subject matter, language, and media experts. Student responses to the e-module were also very positive. The research findings indicate that the Animal Structure Laboratory E-Module created with Canva is highly valid and suitable for use in learning, reinforcing the use of technology in an educational context.

Abstract

The learning resources used at SMAN 1 Serasan have not used the local potential found in the Natuna Regency. Therefore, a learning resource is needed to provide a real picture of the biodiversity material students know. Based on a QR Code, this study aimed to measure the feasibility and analyze student responses to the Encyclopedia of Fish Catches of Air Nusa Serasan Village Fishermen of Natuna Regency. This research uses the research and development method with the 4D development model, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The dissemination stage was not carried out due to limited time and cost. The results showed that the feasibility of the encyclopedia was very feasible in the language aspect (85.6%), material aspect (89.13%), and media aspect (89.31%). Student responses showed a positive response with a small-scale value of 79,68% and a large-scale value of 87.92%. It is concluded that the QR Code-Based Fishermen’s Catch Encyclopedia Media in Air Nusa Serasan Village, Natuna Regency, is suitable for student biology learning.
