Abstract

Propionibacterium acne and Shigella dysentriae is a species of bacteria that cause inflammation. Diseases that cause acne are often caused by a bacterial infection, one of which is the bacteria Propionibacterium acne. While inflammatory bowel disease caused by a bacterial infection Shigella dysenteriae. Both are bacteria that cause inflammation. One of the plants that have the potential as an alternative antibacterial is leaf dragon scales (Drymoglossum piloselloides Linn). Inhibition of leaf extracts dragon scales (Drymoglossum piloselloides Linn) against Propionibacterium acne bacteria significantly affect the significance value of 0,000. While the dragon scales leaf extract (Drymoglossum piloselloides Linn) against Shigella dysenteriae bacteria significantly affect the significance value of 0,000. Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) which is able to inhibit the bacteria Propionibacterium acne is 0,8% with a mean inhibition zone of 0,26 cm. While the Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) which is able to inhibit the bacteria Shigella dysenteriae is 0,6% with a mean of 0,15 Keywords: Propionibacterium acne, Shigella dysentriae, Drymoglossum piloselloides Linn., acne bacteria

This study aimed to analyze the influence of A. bilimbi kombucha on growth of E. coli. This kombucha has an antibacterial activity on E. coli growth. E. coli is a diarrhea causing bacterium. Concentration of kombucha used were 25%; 27.5%; 30%; 32.5%, and 35%. Antibacterial test using a pour plate method. Analysize tested using one way ANOVA and followed by post hoc test LSD with 95% levelof confidence. This research showed that Averrhoa blimbi kombucha perform antibacterial activity against E. coli and at concentration of 35% kombucha buluh perform inhibition which different significally (p>0.05). Abstract

The environmental conditions which are becoming worse is the potential problems facing humanity. Many efforts have been made to reduce environmental damage, one of them is by instilling environmental awareness through education. This education can be done through the application of learning that capable of empowering students positive attitude towards the environment. The reality on the field, the student academic abilities level are very diverse, necessitating a study to assess the effect of student academic level toward the changes in students attitudes through learning process. This study aims to determine the effect of the variation of academic ability on the attitudes toward river ecosystem of high school students in the city of Malang. This study conducted in academic years of 2008/2009. The subjects in this study were high school students in Malang, and the samples are SMAN 2 Malang students from class X7 and X8 and SMA Laboratorium UM students from class X2 and X6. This study applied to the second semester of 10 th grade students on the topic of River Ecosystem. The data statistical analysis from this study showed that the probability of academic ability is 0.376 (bigger than 0.05), so that thenull hypothesis is accepted and the research hypothesis is rejected, which means academic ability had no effect on student attitudes on the ecosystem of the river. Thus, it can be concluded that learning processes that aims to empower student positive attitude on the river ecosystem can be applied both to students with high and low level of academic ability Keywords: academic ability, attitude, river ecosystem

The research method used is a CAR (Classroom Action Research) with the researcher asa teacher educator. Results obtained from the study is an increase in interest from 72.50% to pre-cycle of 82.67% in the post-cycle with high criteria. Learning activities also increased from 71.76% pre-cycle, and 83.58% in the post-cycle with high activity criteria. Interest and learning activities that increase was followed by an increasing in student learning outcomes initially studied classical completeness only 62.16% to 78.38% in the post-cycle.
