Abstract

Sebagai negara beriklim tropik, Indonesia memiliki keanekaragaman tumbuhan paku (Pteridophyta) yang tinggi. Sekitar 1.300 jenis tumbuhan paku yang terdapat di Indonesia. Tumbuhan paku banyak ditemukan di dataran tinggi salah satunya padakawasan Air terjun Kapas Biru Pronojiwo Lumajang. Di kawasan tersebut dilakukan kegiatan identifikasi tumbuhan paku sebagai dasar upaya konservasi. Hasil penelitian diharapkan bermanfaat bagi masyarakat umum baik para pecinta lingkungan, botanis, siswa ataupun mahasiswa untuk lebih mengetahui keanekaragaman flora yang ada di sekitarnya yang dipublikasikan dalam bentuk media booklet.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis tumbuhan paku yang ada di kawasan Air Terjun Kapas Biru Kecamatan Pronojiwo Kabupaten Lumajang tahun 2017 dan untuk mengetahui hasil uji kelayakan produk booklet dari hasil penelitian. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif eksploratif. Penelitian dilakukan di Kawasan Air Terjun Kapas Biru Pronojiwo Lumajang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode jelajah (Cruise Method). Hasil penelitian berupa data keanekargaman tumbuhan paku disusun sebagai booklet dengan mengacu pada model pengembangan 4D Thiagarajan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian terdapat 30 jenis tumbuhan paku. Selain itu, diketahui bahwa jumlah setiap jenis tumbuhan paku berbeda-beda. Jenis paku paling dominan yang ditemukan pada setiap area yaitu Drymoglosum piloselloides (L.) M.G Price. Tumbuhan paku dengan jumlah banyak yaitu Nephrolepis radicans (Burm.f) Kuhn, Christella dentat (Forssk). Brownsey & Jermy, Selaginella intermedia, Equisetum sp. Sedangkantumbuhan paku dengan jumlah paling sedikit yaitu Cyclosorus sp.Produk hasil penelitian berupa Booklet mendapatkan kualifikasi sangat layak dengan keputusan dapat digunakan tanpa revisi.

Abstract

Endophytic fungi found on a variety of medicinal plants may express particular benefit. These fungi provide an alternative to overcome the progressive microbial resistance and as an effort to combat infectious diseases that became one of the leading causes of mortality. The main objective of this study was to isolate endophytic fungi from leaf samples of five medicinal plants species collected from evergreen forests Baluran National Park and its use as laboratory manual for Micology. Research findings showed there were 3 isolates of endophytic fungi isolated from 2 medicinal plants namely Kesambi (Schleicera oleosa) and Ketapang (Terminalia catappa). All three isolates formed sporangiophores as asexual reproductive structures, while the structure of sexual still undiscovered therefore its classification has not been determined. The validity tests also showed that the lab manual is feasible for use with the percentage achievement 85.37% and 88.56%.

Abstract

Teachers often encountered difficulties or even failure in conducting the classroom due to the students' inability to understand the learning materials. Most students find it's challenging to associate their existing knowledge with the new one because of the learning setting that they generally have. Teachers do not consider it important to set their students for actively engaging in learning, which eventually will impact their learning outcomes. This research aimed at determining the effect of Problem-Based Learning with Concept Mapping Technique on student learning activities. This quasi-experimental study used one experimental class and one control class. The control class used STAD model. The four categories of learning activities which were measured based on active learning principles were engagement activities, cognitive skills, response to cognitive development, and response to general educational outcomes. The result showed that  Problem-based learning with concept mapping technique is proven to have a significant effect on students' activities. There were significance difference between experiment class and control class.

Abstract

Plants Suruhan (Paperomia pellucida L. Kunth) has traditionally been used as a drug abscesses, boils acne, skin diseases, headaches, relieve pain in arthritic.Various properties owned by the plant Suruhan make this plant as a major commodity medicinal plants are cultivated by the people. Suruhan pharmacological function can not be separated because their secondary metabolites that allegedly resulted from their symbiosis with endophytic microbes such as fungi. Endophytic fungi are microscopic fungi that live intracellularly in the plant tissue without damaging the host. This study aimed to isolate and identify endophytic fungi on plant fruit organs errand. Isolation of endophytic fungi on errands obtained 15 isolates comprising of Fusarium sambucinum, Cladosporium cladosporoides, Cladophialophora sp. Myrothecium sp., Gliocladium sp., Penicillium expansum, Aspergillus sp., Aspergilus niger, Lichtheimia sphaerocystis dan Absidia corymbifera.

Abstract

Foodborne disease caused by Escherichia coli contamination is increasing every year. It also followed by elevating of drug-resistance of E. coli. Bacteriophage can be an alternative for therapy infection.  This study aimed to determine synergism effect of bacteriophage ϕPT1b which has a high rate virulence to E. coli and phage-antibiotics (tetracycline and amoxicillin) synergy. The indigenous bacteria isolates were KR, MJ, KP, PT, PR. Five bacteriophages used namely ϕKR1b, ϕKR2, ϕPT1a, ϕPT1b, and ϕMJ1b. Virulence test was used to determine the ability of each phage in reducing E. coli. Treatment to examine synergism of phage ϕPT1b and antibiotics were P1: amoxicillin, P2: ϕPT1b, P3: ϕPT1b + Amx = 1:1, P4 : ϕPT1b + Amx = 2:1, P5: ϕPT1b + Amx = 1:2, P6 : tetracycline, P2: ϕPT1b, P7: ϕPT1b + Tet = 1:1, P8 : ϕPT1b + Tet = 2:1, and P9: ϕPT1b + Tet = 1:2. The virulence test showed that isolate ϕPT1a with 106 CFU/ml had the highest ability in reducing E. coli. While, the result of synergism test indicated that the synergism of bacteriophage and antibiotics differ significantly (P ≤ 0.05). The best ratios of synergism were 1:1 (ϕPT1b+tetracycline) and 2:1 (ϕPT1b+amoxicilline). In summarize, phage-antibiotic synergy (ϕPT1b with tetracycline/amoxicilline) can reduce the level of antibiotic resistance in isolated E. coli.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to produce high school biology modules based on the ethnobotany of the people in Kediri and its surroundings to improve student learning outcomes. The development research used the Borg and Gall model which was tested on students of SMAN 1 Plemahan. Based on the results of the material expert validator's assessment, the percentage is 98.82%; according to development experts by 80%; according to media experts by 88%; and according to user experts the percentage is 95.25%. The results of the four expert validators are each at a very valid level. The results of the practicality test are 97.5% and interpreted in the very practical category. The results of the effectiveness test have an average N-gain of 0.58 with moderate criteria in the category of quite effective for improving student learning outcomes.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan modul biologi SMA berbasis etnobotani masyarakat Kediri dan sekitarnya untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian pengembangan menggunakan model Borg and Gall yang diujicobakan pada siswa SMAN 1 Plemahan. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian validator ahli materi persentasenya sebesar 98,82%; menurut ahli pengembangan sebesar 80%; menurut ahli media sebesar 88%; dan menurut ahli pengguna persentasenya sebesar 95,25%. Hasil dari keempat validator ahli masing-masing berada pada tingkat sangat valid. Hasil dari uji kepraktisan yaitu sebesar 97,5% dan diinterpretasikan dalam kategori sangat praktis. Hasil dari uji keefektifan memiliki rata-rata N-gain sebesar 0,58 dengan kriteria sedang yang termasuk dalam kategori cukup efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Kata kunci: pengembangan, modul, etnobotani, hasil belajar DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jbt.v9i2.22623

Abstract

Abstract: Forest is a unit of ecosystem in the form of a stretch of land containing living natural resources dominated by trees and other natural components which cannot be separated. One of Indonesian forest that has high plant species richness, is the Raden Soerjo Forest Park. The place is also rich of lower plants species due to its dimatic and environmental condition. Lower plants consist of all types of vegetation which are found under forest stands except young trees. The group of lower plant is mostly bushy. Shrubs are layer of plants that grow clumped with short stems below 1.5 meters high. This study atmed to determine the diversity of shrub in Raden Soerjo Forest Park. This type of research is descriptive exploratory research. The result showed that are 23 species of shrubs in Raden Soerjo Forest Park, those 23 are belong to 15 classis which are Asteraceae, Rubiaceae, Gesneriaceae, Elaegnaceae, Primulaceae, Fabaceae, Polygonaceae, Acanthaceae, Urticaceae, Rutaceae, Malvaceae, chloranthaceae, Verbenaceae, Solanaceae, and Rosaceae. The result of diversity of shrubs in each family is Fabaceae (low), Malvaceae (low), Asteraceae (low), Verbenaceae (low), Urticaeae (low), Solanaceae (low), Rosaceae (low), Chloranthaceae (low), Polygonaceae (low), Elaegnaceae (low), Rutaceae (low), Primulaceae (low), Acanthaceae (low), Gesneriaceae (low), dan Rubiaceae (low).
