Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between parenting self – efficacy and future time perspective among mother who have a special needs children. This research implicates 72 mother of special needs childern with a various kinds of special needs. The used scale to measure mother’s parenting self-efficacy is made by Coleman and Karraker (2000) called Self-Efficacy for Parenting Task Index or SEPTI. And the Future Time Perspective scale which is made based on the theory put forward by Nurmi (1989). The obtained data is analyzed using a software called SPSS version 22.0 for Windows. The result shows that there is a positive correlation between parenting self-efficacy and future time perspective among mothers with a special needs children (r = 0,610 with a sig (p) score = 0,00 (p < 0,05). Therefore, when the mother has a high level of parenting self- efficacy, her future time perspective will also be high.Keywords : Parenting Self-effcacy, Future Time Perspective, Mother With a Special Needs Childern.

Abstract

Rempit term (race) is very popular in Malaysia to use for identifying illegal motorcycle race. This research aimed to know the uses of rempit concept in the Mat Rempit group itself. The Study using 2 types of interview, the first is individual interview with 16 subjects whom had involved in rempit activity in a school at Semenyih, Selangor; the second is focus group discussion consist of 3 groups of defendant under section 42 as a result of riding motorcyle dongerously in Pulau Pinang, Johor Baharu and Kuala  Lumpur. Result of the analysis, found that rempit can be redefine as an activity of motorcycle race as together (at least consist of 2 persons) which involves race (i.e sprint or lap) and/or stunt action (i.e wheelie or wheekang) triggered by trial behavior trough engine signal from motorcycle (ramp), communication or hand gesture. A Mat Rempit (racer) is an individu who get involved in this activity. This research reviews the definition throughly by formulating rempit activity comprehensively. The implication of the research is rempit word has to be used cautiosly, especially when trying to give a label to an individual as Mat Rempit. For the future research, the definition that has to be used is the one which proposed in this research and not other vague definition.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between life satisfaction with hopelessness. The hypothesis of this research is that there is neagtive relationship between life satisfaction and hopelessness among breast cancer patients. This research used correlational quantitative methods. Participants in this research was 100 breast cancer patients, which was taken by purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using the Hopelessness Scale from Farran, Herth & Popovich (in Canisti, 2012) and life satisfaction measured by Life Satisfaction Scale. The correlation was analyzed using the Pearson Correlation Test with SPSS 18 for Windows. The results showed there was a negative and significant relationship between life satisfaction and hopelessness (r=-0,260; p=0,000) which means the higher life satisfaction, the hopelessness.

Abstract

Dibalik potensi sumber daya manusia yang dimiliki, perusahaan di indonesia memiliki tantangan dalam mengelola sumber daya manusia khususnya generasi Y atau milenial. Semakin meningkatnya pertumbuhan dan perkembangan perusahaan di Indonesia berdampak positif bagi masyarakat dengan semakin melebarnya peluang kerja sehingga akan mengurangi tingkat pengangguran. Namun hal ini akan berakibat semakin tinggi persaingan antar perusahaan. Hal tersebut menyebabkan perusahaan yang ingin bertahan dalam persaingan menuntut karyawannya untuk dapat memberikan kontribusi maksimal bagi perusahaan tempatnya bekerja. Tantangan terbesar Perusahaan-perusahaan masa kini adalah bagaimana cara menjaga, mempertahankan serta menekan intensi turnover. Salah satu upaya mempertahankan karyawan yaitu perusahaan harus memperhatikan pengembangan karir bagi setiap karyawannya, terutama untuk karyawan generasi milenial yang memiliki kinerja yang baik. Terdapat beberapa persoalan dalam proses pengembangan karir di perusahaan yang menjadi objek penelitian, karyawan yang tidak dapat mengembangkan karirnya di perusahaan tempat dia bekerja, padahal karyawan merasa sudah melakukan pekerjaannya dengan baik (sumber karyawan TEY). Abstract

Students are future leaders who are expected to have academic success as their primary goal. However,  academic demands  can  lead to students experiencing academic stress.This study aims to determine the effect of laughter therapy on reducing stress levels in students. Research subjects amounted to (N = 10), which is a force of 2015 that fall into the category of high and medium stress. The researchers used the experimental design of the one group pretest-posttest design using a double pretest. The measuring tool used is the scale of academic stress. Reliability of the measuring scale by calculating the Cronbach Alpha coefficient with a value of 0.822 which signifies high reliability. This research uses Friedman Test data analysis technique that is processed with SPSS version 22. The results showed that the value of Asymp. Sig. 0.000 then 0.000 <0,01, so there is influence of laughter therapy which is very significant to decrease level of academic stress in student of Strata 1 Faculty of Psychology Universitas Negeri Makassar. This study provides a new alternative to the decrease of academic stress level in the students.

Abstract

This cross cultural study has tried to correlate the influence of moral intensity on ethical decision making, for instance on the stage of moral awareness. The phenomenon is interesting to investigate more because there is a difference between individualism culture and collectivism culture in ethical decision making, especially in the correlation of moral intensity components that influence ethical decision making process (Heyler, Armenakis, Walker, & Collier, 2016; McMahon & Harvey, 2007; Saat, Yusoff, & Panatik, 2014; Singh, Vitell, Al-Khatib, & Clark, 2007). Planned behavior theory stated that an individu make a decision based on individual ability to control his or her decision, this theory has been applied in individualism culture (Ajzen, 1991). In other hand, collectivism culture has a different finding with planned behavior theory. An individu in collectivism culture tend to make a decision ethically based on social group control (Ashkanasy, Windsor, & Trevino, 2006; Saat et al., 2014). The different findings on both culture is interesting to discuss more, in order to understand how Indonesian employee as a collectivism culture, and to determine the right ethical training approach for them.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan tingkat shyness mahasiswa pendatang yang mengikuti pelatihan dengan mahasiswa pendatang yang tidak mengikuti pelatihan komunikasi efektif di Makassar. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 32 orang mahasiswa yang terpilih melalui metode purposive sampling. Subjek dibagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu 18 orang pada kelompok eksperimen dan 14 orang pada kelompok kontrol. Subjek pada kelompok eksperimen diberikan pelatihan komunikasi efektif sedangkan subjek pada kelompok kontrol tidak diberikan pelatihan. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah skala shyness. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah randomized pretest-posttest control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat shyness pada subjek yang diberikan pelatihan komunikasi efektif mengalami penurunan dibandingkan dengan subjek yang tidak mendapatkan pelatihan. Hal tersebut terlihat dari hasil analisis data dengan menggunakan uji t melalui program SPSS 16.0, nilai t sebesar 5,690 (p = 0,000). Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan komunikasi efektif untuk mengurangi shyness pada mahasiswa pendatang di Makassar. Abstract. This study aims to determine differences in the level of shyness of new students who attend training with new students who do not attend effective communication training in Makassar. Subjects in this study were 32 students selected through the purposive sampling method. Subjects were divided into two groups: 18 people in the experimental group and 14 people in the control group. Subjects in the experimental group were given effective communication training while subjects in the control group were not given training. Data collection tools used in this study are shyness scale. The research design used was randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The results showed that the level of shyness in subjects given effective communication training decreased compared to subjects who did not receive training. This can be seen from the results of data analysis using the t test through the SPSS 16.0 program, t value of 5.690 (p = 0,000). Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that communication communication is effective in reducing shyness to new students in Makassar.

Abstract

The exploration of the structure of relations between variables that explain the process of early stimulation was the objective of the present work. A non-experimental study was carried out with a non-probabilistic selection of 100 students, considering their participation in a family planning and entrepreneurship program. A composition of eight factors was found: values, beliefs, perceptions, knowledge, abilities, attitudes, intentions and behaviors that explained 45% of the total variance, but the design of the research limited the findings to the scenario suggesting the inclusion of factors that Literature identifies as parenting styles in terms of volitional theories.

Abstract

This study aims to determine changes in sexual orientation in the lesbian community. This study uses qualitative research methods with a case study approach. The informants in this study were as many as 5 (five) lesbian communities who were the subject of research in accordance with the research objectives. The internal process that occurs within the individual who initially is a heterosexual experiences disappointment in establishing heterosexual relationships resulting in trauma to the opposite sex can encourage individuals to develop same-sex relationships that aim to meet the needs of love and comfort. If the desire is fulfilled by a lesbian partner, then it will be a reinforcement in the individual to survive in the same relationship. Whereas families who have conflicts over the role of fathers have resulted in a deeper embedded judgment of men. The environment is also an important role in the process of changing sexual orientation. If the individual playing environment is dominated by lesbian women, individuals can be trapped in similar relationships. Community supervision is an important factor. If public supervision is weak, then individuals will remain lesbian. Whereas if the supervision of the community is strong, it will affect the individual to return to being heterosexual.

Abstract

Anggota kepolisian yang bertugas dilapangan rentang terkena stres kerja yang diakibatkan rendahnya kecerdasan emosi yang dimiliki. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara kecerdasan emosi dengan stres kerja pada anggota kepolisian Satuan Lantas Polrestabes Makassar. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah skala kecerdasan emosi dan skala stres kerja. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh anggota satuan lantas polrestabes makassar sebanyak 36 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh dalam pengambilan sampelnya, dengan kriteria pengambilan sampel yaitu seluruh anggota kepolisian satuan lantas polrestabes makassar. Data dianalisis menggunakan korelasi product moment, dengan bantuan SPSS 21.0 for windows.Berdasarkan hasil analisa data diperoleh bahwa besarnya kekuatan hubungan antara kecerdasan emosi dengan stres kerja yaitu r = -0,877 dan nilai signifikansi 0,000 menunjukkan bahwa probabilitas dibawah 0,01, yang berarti H1diterima. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan yang sangat signifikan antara kecerdasan emosi dengan stres kerja. Semakin tinggi kecerdasan emosi maka semakin rendah stres kerja. Begitupun sebaliknya, semakin rendah kecerdasan emosi maka semakin tinggi stres kerja. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa stres kerja pada anggota kepolisian masih sering terjadi, sehingga dibutuhkan tindakan pemberian pelatihan tentang pengelolaan stres dalam bekerja, preventif, dan edukatif bagi instansi kepolisian sehingga membantu meningkatkan kualitas anggota kepolisian.Kata Kunci: Kecerdasan Emosi, Stres Kerja, Polisi.
