This journal, with ISSN 1979-0112, was firstly published on May 20, 2008, in the context to commemorate the National Awakening Day in Indonesia. The SOSIOHUMANIKA journal has been organized and published by Minda Masagi Press, a publishing house owned by ASPENSI (the Association of Indonesian Scholars of History Education) in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. The SOSIOHUMANIKA journal is published every May and November. The SOSIOHUMANIKA journal is devoted, but not limited to, Social Sciences education, Humanities education, and any new development and advancement in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences education. The scope of our journal includes: (1) Language and literature education; (2) Social sciences education; (3) Sports and health education; (4) Economy and business education; (5) Science, Technology and Society in education; (6) Political and Social Engineering in education; and (7) Visual arts, dance, music, and design education.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Travelers have a central role as decision-makers to visit a particular tourist destination spot. However, the number of visitors for each destination in Bandung city is relatively fluctuation. It happened because the image of Bandung as a tourist destination is still very weak. Through the efforts of place branding, it is expected to improve the image of Bandung city, not only as a creative industrial area, but at the same time as a tourist destination. The purpose of this study was to determine the overviews of place branding, image of the city, and decision to visit; the effect of place branding toward the decision to visit; the influence on decisions to visit the citys image; the effect of place branding to the image of the city; and the influence of place branding and image of the city simultaneously to the decision to visit. The method of research is using descriptive verification. Data was collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and literature. The results of the study revealed that the implementation of place branding is assessed good enough. The image of Bandung city is rated so towering. While the decisions to visit tourism destination is generally considered lofty. Therefore, Bandung city government needs to provide and develop facilities evenly across tourist destinations, including public transportation. KEY WORD: Travelers, decision to visit, image of Bandung city, place branding implementation, public transportation, and tourism destination. RESUME: “Sebuah Analisis ‘Merk Tempat’ untuk Meningkatkan Citra Kota Bandung serta Implikasinya terhadap Keputusan Mengunjungi Destinasi Pariwisata”. Wisatawan memiliki peran sentral selaku pembuat keputusan untuk mengunjungi suatu tempat destinasi wisata tertentu. Namun, jumlah kunjungan wisata ke setiap destinasi di kota Bandung relatif fluktuatif. Hal itu terjadi karena citra Bandung sebagai destinasi wisata masih sangat lemah. Melalui upaya “merk tempat” diharapkan dapat meningkatkan citra kota Bandung, tidak hanya sebagai kawasan idustri kreatif, melainkan sekaligus sebagai tempat destinasi wisata. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran “merk tempat”, citra kota Bandung, dan keputusan berkunjung; pengaruh “merk tempat” terhadap keputusan mengunjungi; pengaruh citra kota Bandung terhadap keputusan mengunjungi; pengaruh “merk tempat” terhadap citra kota; serta pengaruh “merk tempat” dan citra kota secara simultan terhadap keputusan mengunjungi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah verifikasi deskriptif. Tehnik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi, angket, serta studi literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan “merk tempat” dinilai cukup baik. Citra kota Bandung dinilai sangat tinggi. Sedangkan keputusan mengunjungi destinasi pariwisata secara umum dinilai tinggi. Oleh karena itu, pemerintah kota Bandung perlu menyediakan dan mengembangkan fasilitas secara merata di seluruh destinasi wisata, termasuk alat transportasi umum. Abstract

ABSTRACT: This research aims to express the changing process that happened in Mandar as a result of Dutch colonial intervention. From this, it can be seen the early structure that made by Mandar people, their custom and behavior; and finally to bring a new structure that come from their interaction with colonial power. From the period as temporal term, source of information is explored from a past data, especially from colonial archives. Some articles from journals and newspapers, as a contemporary mass media, contribute much information for reconstruction. The structure that made by Mandar people in 18th and 19th century was identified with a maritime piracy. By a reason to end this criminality, Dutch colonial government took a drastic measure with sending her military expedition to punish Mandar people. The expedition motivated the Mandar War in 1868-1869, and ended with a political contract between Mandar and Dutch in 1870. As a conclusion, Mandar is proven to have a difference structure with other political units in South Sulawesi. The structure is consisted of two: power system that composed by seven kings or “maradia”; and diaspora system that spread as long coast of Sulawesi. The contract, that forced by Dutch, could not end the both structures, even though the Dutch regarded that she could establish her political domination.KEY WORD: Mandar people, piracy, Dutch colonial, war, intervention, political contract, seven kings, diaspora system, and political domination. RESUME: “Perang Mandar 1868: Operasi Pembasmian terhadap para Perompak”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan proses perubahan yang terjadi di Mandar sebagai akibat dari intervensi kolonial Belanda. Dari sini, dapat dilihat struktur awal yang dibuat oleh orang-orang Mandar, adat mereka dan perilaku; serta akhirnya membawa struktur baru yang berasal dari interaksi mereka dengan kekuasaan kolonial. Dari periode sebagai jangka waktu, sumber informasi dieksplorasi dari data masa lalu, terutama dari arsip kolonial. Beberapa artikel dari jurnal dan surat kabar, sebagai media massa kontemporer, berkontribusi banyak informasi untuk rekonstruksi. Struktur yang dibuat oleh orang-orang Mandar pada abad ke-18 dan ke-19 telah diidentifikasi sebagai bajak laut. Dengan alasan untuk mengakhiri kriminalitas ini, pemerintah kolonial Belanda mengambil tindakan drastis dengan mengirim ekspedisi militernya untuk menghukum orang-orang Mandar. Ekspedisi ini memotivasi Perang Mandar pada tahun 1868-1869, dan berakhir dengan kontrak politik antara Mandar dan Belanda pada tahun 1870. Sebagai kesimpulan, Mandar terbukti memiliki struktur berbeda dengan unit politik lainnya di Sulawesi Selatan. Struktur ini terdiri dari dua: sistem kekuasaan yang disusun oleh tujuh raja atau "maradia"; dan sistem diaspora yang tersebar di sepanjang pantai Sulawesi. Abstract

This journal, with ISSN 1979-0112, was firstly published on May 20, 2008 in the context to commemorate One Millenium of National Awakening Day in Indonesian. The SOSIOHUMANIKA journal is published twice a year i.e. every May and November. Abstract

RESUME: Kejelasan dan kepastian objek kajian atau studi merupakan salah satu prasyarat pokok bagi Pendidikan IPS (Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial), sebagai disiplin ilmu, didalam mengembangkan tubuh pengetahuannya. Sementara itu, salah satu aspek mendasar dari Pendidikan IPS, sebagai disiplin ilmiah, adalah aspek ontologi atau objek studi formal dan material. Sejauh ini, kajian spesifik terhadapnya belum intensif dilakukan. Sehingga, untuk membangun dan mengembangkan “body of knowledge” Pendidikan IPS yang utuh dan menjadikannya sebuah disiplin yang mandiri dan menyediakan fondasi, kaidah-kaidah, dan standar-standar bersama bagi aktivitas penelitian, masih belum terwujud. Artikel ini mengkaji eksemplar-eksemplar hasil pemikiran dan penelitian tentang Pendidikan IPS secara luas tentang tradisi/paradigma Pendidikan IPS sebagai model konseptual untuk merekonstruksi objek-objek studi Pendidikan IPS. Kajian secara khusus difokuskan pada objek-objek studi terkait dengan konten kurikulum; dan objek studi yang relatif baru, yang belum banyak dikaji, yaitu sejarah perkembangan pemikiran Pendidikan IPS dan komunitas profesional Pendidikan IPS, yang merupakan objek kajian dalam studi sosiologi ilmiah. Kajian ini diharapkan dapat menginspirasi para peneliti khsususnya, dan komunitas profesional Pendidikan IPS umumnya, untuk lebih intensif mengeksplorasi bidang-bidang dan objek-objek studi Pendidikan IPS lain, yang masih merupakan “enigma” bagi pengembangan disiplin Pendidikan IPS.KATA KUNCI: Ontologi, pendidikan IPS, disiplin ilmu, hasil pemikiran dan penelitian, objek studi, komunitas profesional, dan pendidikan kewarganegaraan. ABSTRACT: “The Ontology of Social Studies Education as a Discipline of Civics Education”. Clarity and certainty object of study or the study is one of the basic prerequisites for Social Studies Education, as a discipline, in developing its body of knowledge. Meanwhile, one of the fundamental aspects of Social Studies Education, as a scientific discipline, is an aspect of ontology or the formal and material objects of study. So far, the specific studies are not intensive to be done. Thus, to build and develop a body of knowledge of Social Studies Education completely and make it an autonomous discipline, which provides the foundation, rules, and common standards for research activities, are still not realized. This article examines the examplars of the ideas and research on Social Studies Education traditions or paradigms widely as a conceptual model to reconstruct objects of study of Social Studies Education. Specifically, the study focused on the objects of study related to curriculum content; and new objects of study that has not been much studied such as the history of the development of Social Studies Education’s thought and professional community of Social Studies Education, which is an object of study in scientific sociology. Abstract

RESUME: Kesultanan Banjarmasin merupakan kelanjutan dari kerajaan Hindu sebelumnya, yakni Negara Dipa dan Negara Daha. Bermula dari perkampungan orang-orang Melayu, kemudian menjadi pelabuhan yang dilalui oleh para pedagang Muslim dalam pelayarannya untuk mendapatkan rempah-rempah dan lainnya, kesultanan Banjarmasin berkembang menjadi kerajaan penting di Kalimantan Selatan. Kesultanan Banjarmasin berdiri pada awal abad ke-16 M dengan nama ibukota yang sama dan terletak di muara Sungai Barito. Banjarmasin, selain sebagai kota pelabuhan, juga merupakan ibu kota kerajaan, keraton, dan kompleks pemukiman, sehingga pantaslah Banjarmasin disebut suatu “kota”. Kesultanan Banjarmasin dengan pemerintahan Pangeran Samudra, yang bergelar “Sultan Suryanullah”, misalnya, merupakan penguasa Islam pertama di Kalimantan Selatan, yang terjadi pada masa awal abad ke-16, dan di-Islam-kan oleh Penghulu dari kesultanan Demak di Jawa Tengah. Kesultanan Banjarmasin mempunyai daerah kekuasaan, yang merupakan kelanjutan dari kerajaan Negara Daha. Daerah kekuasaan kesultanan Banjarmasin selanjutnya, yakni pada masa pemerintahan Pangeran Suryanata, sebagaimana diceritakan oleh “Hikayat Banjar” dan “Hikayat Lembu Mangkurat”, adalah  negara/kota/ daerah seperti Kutai, Berau, Karasikan, Lawai, dan Sambas. Perkembangan kesultanan ini bersamaan dengan penyebaran Islam, sehingga Islam sangat mewarnai corak kesultanan dalam hal budaya, sosial, politik, dan juga ekonomi. Islam, dengan kata lain, telah melahirkan suatu peradaban yang khas di kesultanan Banjarnasin.KATA KUNCI: Kesultanan Banjarmasin, pedagang Muslim, kesultanan Demak, penyebaran Islam, dan peradaban Islam di Kalimantan Selatan. ABSTRACT: “The Development of Islam in Banjarmasin Sultanate”. The sultanate of Banjarmasin is a continuation of the previous Hindu kingdoms, the Dipa State and Daha State. It began as the settlements of the Malays, then a port for Muslim traders in getting spices and other com­modities, the sultanate developed into an important kingdom in South Kali­mantan. Banjarmasin sultanate was established at the beginning of the 16th century with its capital of the same name and was located at the mouth of the Barito River. Banjarmasin, beside as a port city, is also a capital of the kingdom, the palace, and a residential complex, so it is worth Banjarmasin called a "city". Sultanate of Banjarmasin with the reign of Prince Samudra, with the title "Sultan Suryanullah", for example, is the first Islamic rulers in South Kalimantan, which occurred in the early 16th century, and being Islamized by the “Penghulu” (Muslim leader) from Demak sultanate in Central Java. The Banjarmasin sultanate has a territory, which was a continuation of the kingdom of Daha State. The next Banjarmasin sultanate territory, namely during the reign of Prince Suryanata, as told by the “Tale of Banjar” and “Tale of Lambung Mangkurat”, is a state / city / country like Kutai, Berau, Karasikan, Lawai, and Sambas. The development of the sultanate along with the spread of Islam in the area, so that it has made Islam highly influenced the cultural, social, political, and eco­nomic lives of the sultanate. Abstract

ABSTRACT: Art is one of the elements of the culture. It is the result of thought, taste, needs, and human behavior. In addition to the result of human action, the existence and development of culture is also affected by natural factors, where the culture is alive, growing, and interacting among living things in its environment. A culture is highly dependent and influenced by living things (especially humans) and natural surroundings. Therefore, when there is interaction between human beings and nature and the environment, it will create a culture. And music, as a form of culture, is one of the examples that develop based on human interaction. Development of music from the past until now go through various changes, like that occur in contemporary music. Changes in contemporary music are always in accordance with the changing of times when the music evolved. Thus, the shape of contemporary musical composition always changes in terms of instruments, structures, techniques, and forms. While, the multiculturalism integrity is a process or an event when several different cultures are gathered and incorporated in a container that interacts to produce a new product. That is to say, the process of multiculturalism is a cultural development generated by the influence of various foreign cultures. The cultural mixing can occur in any case, one of which is on contemporary music as the form of musical development, that is ever-changing developments in accordance with the changing times.KEY WORD: Culture, music, composition, contemporary music, multiculturalism, different cultures, changing times, and integrity. RESUME: “Integritas Multikulturalisme dalam Musik Kontemporer”. Seni adalah salah satu unsur budaya. Ia adalah hasil dari pemikiran, rasa, kebutuhan, dan perilaku manusia. Selain hasil tindakan manusia, keberadaan dan pengembangan budaya juga dipengaruhi oleh faktor alam, dimana budaya hidup, tumbuh, dan berinteraksi diantara yang tinggal di lingkungannya. Sebuah budaya sangat tergantung dan dipengaruhi oleh makhluk hidup (khususnya manusia) dan alam sekitarnya. Karenanya, ketika ada interaksi antara manusia dengan alam dan lingkungan, itu akan menciptakan budaya. Dan musik, sebagai bentuk budaya, adalah salah satu contoh yang berkembang berdasarkan interaksi manusia. Perkembangan musik dari masa lalu sampai sekarang melalui berbagai perubahan, seperti yang terjadi dalam musik kontemporer. Perubahan musik kontemporer selalu sesuai dengan perubahan zaman ketika musik berevolusi. Dengan demikian, bentuk komposisi musik kontemporer selalu berubah dalam hal instrumen, struktur, teknik, dan bentuk. Sementara itu, integritas multikulturalisme adalah sebuah proses atau suatu kejadian pertemuan beberapa budaya yang berbeda, dan tergabung dalam suatu wadah yang berinteraksi untuk menghasilkan suatu produk yang baru. Artinya, proses multikultur adalah sebuah perkembangan budaya yang dihasilkan oleh pengaruh dari berbagai macam budaya luar. Abstract

RESUME: Salah satu masalah yang dihadapi dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa asing di PT (Perguruan Tinggi) adalah masih belum terpenuhinya kualitas pembelajaran yang diharapkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan dan mengembangkan program pembelajaran berbasis kompetensi untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasa asing di PT, yang terdiri atas bentuk desain program perencanaan pembelajaran, implementasi pembelajaran, dan desain evaluasi pembelajaran. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan LITBANG (Penelitian dan Pengembangan) melalui studi pendahuluan, dengan melakukan kegiatan pra-survey pada Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Jerman UPI (Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia) di Bandung.  Hasil studi menghasilkan bentuk desain perencanaan yang terdiri atas lima komponen pokok, yakni: komponen tujuan, materi, kegiatan, media dan sumber, serta evaluasi pembelajaran. Desain program implementasi berbasis kompetensi terdiri atas lima tahapan, yakni: tahap pendahuluan, penjajagan, pembahasan materi, klarifikasi, dan penutup. Sementara itu, desain program evaluasi meliputi evaluasi hasil dan evaluasi proses pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, ternyata program pembelajaran berbasis konpetensi memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap peninggkatan kemampuan dan keterampilan berbahasa, baik dilihat dari aspek kelancaran berbahasa maupun aspek pemahaman materi. KATA KUNCI: Tujuan pembelajaran, program pembelajaran berbasis kompetensi, kemampuan dan keterampilan berbahasa, bahasa asing, dan pemahaman materi.   ABSTRACT: “Development of Competency-Based Learning Program to Improve Foreign Language Skills in College”. One of the problems that emerge in a foreign language learning process in university is the low achievement of educational goals. The research aimed at producing and developing competence-based learning program in order to enhance the foreign language skills in university level that consist of planning of learning process, learning process implementation, and design of learning process evaluation. The approach used in this research is R&D (Research & Development) through the step in the study of the introduction by carrying out the activity of pre-survey at the Department of Germany Language UPI (Indonesia University of Education) in Bandung. The results of study produce the form of the design of the planning program that consisted of five main components, namely: the goals, the materials, the activities, the media and sources, and the evaluation. The design of implementation program of competence-based learning process consists of the five stages, namely: the introductory stage, exploration, material discussions, clarification, and the closing stage. Meanwhile, the design of the evaluation program covered the evaluation of result and the evaluation of learning process. Abstract

RESUME: Kajian ini merupakan penelitian dan apresiasi terhadap nilai-nilai murni yang terdapat dalam “Antologi Puisi Tanah Airku”, satu program penghayatan sastera dan budaya bagi PLKN (Program Latihan Khidmat Negara) di Malaysia. Puisi yang dihasilkan oleh penyair-penyair Tanah Air akan dianalisis sebagai salah satu kurikulum kepada proses pembentukan nilai dalam diri dan jiwa para pelatih PLKN, yang terdiri daripada pelbagai bangsa, budaya, dan agama. Kajian ini hanya merujuk kepada penghasilan karya puisi moden (sajak) yang terkandung dalam “Antologi Puisi Tanah Airku”. Kajian ini menganalisis beberapa sajak yang lebih dominan, dengan nilai-nilai sejagat yang dipilih menjadi fokus analisis dalam kajian. Kajian ini juga merupakan suatu penyelidikan yang menggunakan kaedah kualitatif, dengan menganalisis karya-karya sajak yang diterapkan berdasarkan kepada penggunaan konsep nilai yang diteliti dengan Teknik Bacaan Rapi. Setiap sajak yang dibaca akan dianalisis isi kandungannya, dengan berlandaskan konsep nilai yang dilihat daripada perspektif Islam, Melayu, dan Barat, dengan mengambil lima elemen nilai sejagat, iaitu: patriotisme, perpaduan, kekeluargaan, kerjasama, dan nilai luhur. Dapatan analisis kajian menunjukkan bahawa terdapat unsur-unsur penerapan nilai murni sejagat di dalam sajak-sajak pilihan. KATA KUNCI: Apresiasi puisi, nilai-nilai murni, Antologi Puisi Tanah Airku, teknik bacaan rapi, Islam, Melayu, dan Barat, serta elemen nilai sejagat. ABSTRACT: “Application of Values through ‘Poetry Anthology on My Motherland’ for the Participants of National Service Training Program in Malaysia”. This study is carried out to analyse the values enclosed in “Antologi Puisi Tanah Airku” (Poetry Anthology on My Motherland), a literature and culture appreciation for the National Service Training Programme in Malaysia. The poems in “Poetry Anthology on My Motherland” which are composed by the local poets will be examined as an avenue to infuse excellent intrinsic worth into National Service Trainers, who come from various race, culture, and religion. This study refers only to the production of modern poetry contained in the “Poetry Anthology on My Motherland”. This study analyzes some of the more dominant poems, with universal values selected to be the focus of analysis in the study. This study is a qualitative research method to analyze the works of poetry that are applied based on the concept of the assessed value of Close Reading Technique. Each poem is read and then analyzed the content based on the concept of perceived value from the perspective of Islam, Malays, and the West, by taking the five universal elements, namely: patriotism, unity, family, co-operation, and the sublime. Abstract

RESUME: Wirausaha telah menjadi isu yang berkembang dan sudah terbukti sanggup menguatkan ekonomi bagi rakyat Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, pemerintah, melalui instansi pendidikan, mempunyai program penerapan kewirausahaan sedini mungkin, dengan tujuan agar masyarakat dapat mempunyai mental dan jiwa usaha yang tangguh. Kurikulum wirausaha sangat diperlukan untuk kemajuan dan kemandirian bangsa Indonesia. Penerapan kurikulum kewirausahaan di tingkat Sekolah Dasar lebih mengutamakan penguatan dasar-dasar nilai wirausaha. Namun, kendala masih ditemui dalam menerapkan program kewirausahaan tersebut, yaitu Dinas Pendidikan secara nasional belum mempunyai standar kurikulum baku dan belum terintegrasi dengan konsep multibudaya. Masing-masing sekolah masih mengembangkan konsep kurikulum berbasis wirausaha tanpa berintegrasi dengan sekolah lain. Model kurikulum berbasis wirausaha yang dikembangkan ini bertujuan untuk mengintegrasikan penguatan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan kontekstual di tingkat Sekolah Dasar pada mata pelajaran berbasis hitungan dan mata pelajaran berbasis budi pekerti, yang keduanya bertujuan untuk mengembangkan budaya kejujuran, integritas pribadi, dan kerjasama tim dalam wirausaha. Kurikulum wirausaha yang terintegrasi dengan mata pelajaran berbasis sains dan inovasi produk juga harus disesuaian dengan kemampuan peserta didik tingkat Sekolah Dasar.KATA KUNCI: Kurikulum wirausaha, konsep multibudaya, Sekolah Dasar, standar kurikulum, terintegrasi, dan budi pekerti. ABSTRACT: “Model of Entrepreneurial-Based Curriculum as Strengthening Efforts towards Multicultural-Based Education in Primary Schools”. Entrepreneurship has become a growing issue and has already proved capable of reinforcing the economy for the people of Indonesia. Therefore, the government, through the educational institution, has an entrepreneurial program implementation as early as possible, in order that people can have mental and soul of the business is tough. Entrepreneurial curriculum is indispensable for progress and independence of the nation of Indonesia. Entrepreneurship curriculum implementation at the elementary level has prioritized the strengthening of the foundations of entrepreneurial values. However, obstacles still encountered in implementing entrepreneurship programs, namely the Department of Education nationally does not have any standardized curriculum and have not also yet been integrated with the concept of multi-culturalism. Each school is still developing the concept of entrepreneurship-based curriculum without integrating with other schools. Entrepreneurial-based curriculum model, that is developed, aims to integrate the strengthening of fun and contextual learning at the elementary level in the subject matters based on count and character, which are both aimed at developing a culture of honesty, personal integrity, and teamwork in entrepreneurship.
