Abstract

Turnover intention is the intention of leaving an employee from a company and looking for alternatives to other companies or other jobs. Turnover intention is generated on the basis of the workload experienced by employees. This study aims to determine the relationship between work stress and turnover intention on employees. The hypothesis proposed is that there is a positive relationship between work stress and employee turnover intention. The subjects of this study were permanent employees and contracts who worked less and more than one year in the PT. Financing Company. FIF Group Unit II Tulang Bawang. The sample in this study was 60 people. The sampling technique used was a saturated sampling technique. The research data was collected with the Turnover Intention Scale, Job Stress Scale. The Intention Turnover Scale consisted of 49 valid items with a reliability coefficient of 0.956. The Job Stress Scale consisted of 20 valid items with a reliability coefficient of 0.871. Data analysis using Pearson Product Moment Correlation analysis technique, obtained results r = 0.256 with a significant level of 0.048 (p <0.05). This means that there is a positive relationship between work stress and turnover intention on employees. The value of r2 = 0.066 means that in this study work stress only gives a contribution of 6.6% to turnover intention.

This study used a pretest-posttest control group design (18 students as the experimental group and 18 students as the control group). This research was based on quantitative and qualitative analysis. Quantitative analysis was carried out using the Mann-Whitney test in order to determine student motivation in terms of learning Mathematics after had the training “Me and My Target”. Qualitative analysis is obtained through observation, interviews, and worksheets. The results of this study showed that there is a significant differences in student motivation to learn Mathematics between the experimental group and control group (Z = -3,216, p <0.05). Furthermore, there were also significant differences in the student motivation between the experimental group and control group within two weeks after training (Z = -3,876, p <0.05). In conclusion, the training called “Me and My Target” may increase the student motivation to learn Mathematics of second grade students of SMP "X".

Abstract

Playing online games is an alternative of entertainment that is fairly easy to obtain and inexpensive when compared to other entertainment modes. The behavior of playing online games is preferred because it offers various benefits for the players both mentally and materially. Behind the positive benefits obtained, excessive online gaming results in the emergence of addiction with some negative effects, such as the emergence of aggression behavior, loss of interest to engage in the real world, decreased cognitive abilities and lack of self regulation. This research aims to understand the process of online game addiction through a neurobiology approach using literacy study methods. The conclusion in this study is that if online gaming behavior continues to be repeated and accustomed, the dopaminergic pathway in the brain will strengthen and settle, causing addiction, which will eventually strengthen the reactive system and weaken the reflective system so the cognitive abilities decreased and are difficult in controlling their self control. The precaution that parents and educators can make a duration limit in playing online games, recognizing the details of the game to find out the warning sign if their child starts to cross the line approaching the level of addiction. Corrective actions that can be done by counselors and therapists should be focused on the factors that trigger the emergence of addiction in an effective way.
