Abstract

Higher education institutions should adapt the development of science and technology in order to meet the society demand along the ages. They are expected to produce human resources with academic and leadership capability and ethics who are also adaptive to the technological development. In order to achieve that, the instituations are required to carry out quality research and social service programs that can improve the societies. The programs should be based on science and the implementation of the education and research with clear targets. However, in practice, the social service programs are often irrelevant to the society needs as well as to the fields of the lecturers and students involved in the programs. This proves the gap between the ideal and the real condition of the Indonesian higher education quality. The situation is influenced by several factors, including the poor management, economics, and social realities. In order to overcome them, a comprehensive program for developing the profesionalism of the lecturers is needed in which the government, the instituation, and the society are all involved. The Minister of Education and Culture Affair Regulation No 49/2014 regulates the standard for the social service, which is an important part of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. According to it, the program should be organized by the Social Service Board with its principles for institutionalism, education, cooperation, sustainability, social empowerment, and regional development.

Abstract

Research as a component of quality assurance serves as a venue to provide spaces for scholarly dialog among experts in bridging together aspects and elements that call for inquiry and debate. This study employs documentary analysis to effectively address the need of the research. Articles accepted and published in the Journal of Quality Assurance are downloaded, revisited, and analysed. Based on available online data, this study includes articles published from year 2018, covering publication issues after it was included in the list of the Asean Citation Index (ACI). In-depth scrutiny of data revealed three main arguments pertaining to inquiries of articles accepted and published in the journal: Quality Assurance in Education in Bountiful Quantity, From the Inner Psyche to the Social Systems of Humankind, and The Roles of Employers and Employees. The thrust of the journal in championing research works related to ‘quality assurance’ has been instrumental in contextualizing the concept of quality as applied in diverse fields of studies. The journal has served as a niche for scholars in advocating a community of practice where knowledge production is evident and scholarly approaches to research inquiries are manifested.

Abstract

Lately, characters become very serious conversation. Various Portals of Government Agencies which are associated with education makes the characters as the project theme of national seminars. In a variety of social media will very often be found articles related to the characters. This is because the Indonesian Government is anxious to see the reality of nation’s community mental which is experiencing a crisis and moral degradation.Cases of corruption and human tragedy that were done by those who are supposedly literate even become a spectacle on various TV stations. It encourages the government of Indonesia sought to reformulate the National Education Goals as outlined in UUSPN No. 20 of 2003 Article 3. That article states that education aims to develop students' potential to become a human of faith and piety to God Almighty, noble, healthy, knowledgeable, skilled, creative, independent, and become democratic and accountable citizens to the community and nationality. All are then formulated into 18 (eighteen) grains of the noble values of the nation then called the values of the character as a means to build the nation's character.Although the Indonesian government has formulated 18 characters to build the nation's character, but various groups, community leaders and academics are still eager to participate to complement the Government's thoughts. This article shall discuss a book by national Hindu leaders, namely Ngakan Putu Putra, a comprehensive work explored in the literature that explores the Bhagavadgita which discusses 27 (twenty-seven) character value that gives hope for the realization of the nation's character.

Abstract

Perkembangan sains dan teknologi tidak bertentangan di dalam agama Hindu dan bahkan Hindu sendiri mengajarkan sains. Sains dan teknologi di dalam Hindu pengertiannya lebih luas dibandingkan sains dan teknologi saat ini. Hindu memandang bahwa hal-hal yang membuat manusia nyaman di dunia ini adalah teknologi yang bersifat material. Sementara itu manusia tetap tidak mampu meraih kebahagiaan tertinggi. Hindu lebih menekankan pada sains dan teknologi ini, yakni upaya untuk meraih kebahagiaan abadi. Guna meraih kebahagiaan sejati, orang harus mempelajari dan mempraktikkan berbagai teknik yang diajarkan sehingga akhirnya mengalami kebahagiaan itu sendiri. SDM Hindu yang hendak dikembangkan adalah SDM yang memang expert di bidang sains dan teknologi objektif, tetapi juga mampu menjalankan teknologi bhatin yang diajarkan. SDM Hindu diharapkan mampu melahirkan kesejahteraan dunia dan kemudian terbebas dari segala bentuk kesengsaraan.

Abstract

Higher education institutions (HEI) are encouraged to develop Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) that could assist the process of external audit, accreditation and to face the tight competition. General phenomenon of HEI’sIQAS,so far, is still away from qualified and even practically tends to be manipulative. This literature-based article aims to review the role of leadership in campus political practice and the urgence of external professional usage in order to improve internal quality assurance in HEI. The study reveals that improper campus political practice has become the bottleneck for the effectiveness of IQAS. It needs a fundamental change of top leader’s paradigm, particularly in the policy of internal auditor placement. A revolutionary breakthrough of hiring external professional tobe placed as internal auditor seems to be needed, specifically to keep the independency and objectivity, as well as to assure the qualified performance of all units in HEI.

Human development with cross-cultural characteristics is one of them can be done by optimizing the higher education law that has the character of Pancasila. Pancasila has values that must be internalized into legal higher education that are spread throughout the existing courses. Pancasila values are systems that cannot be separated from one another. Abstract

Conflicts of interest are the entry point for the abuse of power and corruption. The implementation of a manipulative ex-officio system that tends to perpetuate the oligarchy will cause a corrupt behavior in the governance of private higher education institutions. To date, studies on ex-officio related to higher education governance have never been discussed academically. The purpose of this study, thus, aims to criticize the application of ex-officio and its potential consequences in the supervision system at private higher education institutions. The study used a qualitative exploratory and the literature study was employed. The result reveals that the ex-officio is a legal model used in many higher education institutions. However, in its application it can lead to conflicts of interest and abuse of power which in turn has the potential of corrupt behavior university governance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul pembelajaran interaktif untuk membantu mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Makassar dalam memahami materi algoritma dan pemrograman dasar khususnya pada situasi saat ini yang sedang dilanda pandemic covid-19 yang megharuskan pembelajaran dilakukan secara online. Penelitian ini dirancang dengan menggunakan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Untuk mendapatkan modul yang valid dan efektif, maka dilakukan pengujian validitas terhadap instrumen penelitian serta pengujian validitas terhadap modul yang dikembangkan. Modul yang telah dikembangkan kemudian dinilai oleh subjek penelitian untuk menentukan keefktifannya.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa MOBELIN dinyatakan memenuhi kevalidan dan keefektifan. Hasil ini diperoleh setelah dilakukan uji validitas oleh para ahli yang terdiri dari validasi instrumen pada keseluruhan aspek berada pada kategori valid yakni 3,32. Sementara itu, MOBELIN dikatakan efektif digunakan berdasarkan penilaian mahasiswa yang terdiri dari beberapa aspek yaitu pada aspek materi dengan skor 3,48 dengan kategori baik, aspek efektifitas dengan skor 3,41 pada kategori baik, aspek tampilan dengan skor 3,56 dengan kategori sangat baik, aspek kemudahan dalam mengakses dengan skor 3,60 dengan kategori sangat baik dan aspek keoptimalan dalam pembelajaran dengan skor 3,36 dengan kategori baik sehingga rata-rata skor secara keseluruhan adalah 3,45 dengan kategori baik. Sehingga,dapat disimpulkan bahwa MOBELIN dapat digunakan sebagai bahan ajar alternatif untuk meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran.

Abstract

The problem of education is an issue of human life throughout their life, both as individuals, social groups as well as members of society. A hope for the government and society to the generations of Hindu that schools of Hinduism can be built not only in formal education but through education in formal and non-formal as in the rise and pasraman-pasraman in every Pakraman in Bali, so the creation of a religious culture, the strong one.The phenomenon that occurs in the Hindu generation, where Hindu religious education in the learning process in schools to create a culture of religious solely to meet the cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects whereas as if ignored, this happens because of the situation of globalization. Build or revitalize Hindu religious education is actually the duty of teachers and parents with instilling religious values to create a religious culture. A religious culture that is based on religion teacher jobs, selfless, is also a method for building one's values in a comprehensively manner.
