Abstract

Essential oils are one of the vegetable oils that have many benefits. Kelompok Tani Bangkit is one of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) engaged in producing essential oils made from citronella plants. The production of derivative products in herbal bath soap offers a broader marketing opportunity than pure citronella oil. The purpose of this community service is to improve the understanding of the members of the Kelompok Tani Bangkit regarding the process of making herbal bath soap and product packaging labels. The implementation of this community service used the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method, which directly involved the community in every activity. The results of the community service showed that the knowledge of the members of the Kelompok Tani Bangkit regarding the making of herbal bath soap and product packaging labels increased by 73% and 72%, respectively

Abstract

It comes from the routine activities of an MSME Nyiur Gading community, a social gathering which is called Arisan. It has been running for 3 years, and all members have felt the benefits of the arisan. It turns out that there are members who are en tangled in illegal online loans (pinjol). Due to the need for fast and relatively large funding but the ability of the arisan to be relatively small, the idea arose to turn the arisan into a business that could help finance its members in the form of sharia microfinance. The main purpose of this activity is to enhance the role and improve the welfare of members, as well as to help free themselves from financial dependence on parties outside the community. The Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) method is used in this service activity because it is community-based and involves the community members themselves. In the service activity, the material was also given about understanding Islamic finance and Sharia microfinance, as well as financial literacy about personal financial management as a guideline to becoming financially independent. The 30 participants in this activity, who are members of the Nyiur Gading MSMEs, agreed to improve the financial management of social gatherings in a more professional manner and agreed to form a Sharia financial services startup as a source of financing to overcome dependence on parties outside the community. The team provides an application for this Sharia financial services startup, which is based on Ms. Excel, so it is easy to learn. After running for two months with assistance, this Sharia financial startup has helped its members get financing quickly and easily, and the payment process runs smoothly. Providing material on understanding the impor tance of personal financial planning has also been proven to increase participants’ financial literacy from 70% to 91%.

Abstract

Food crops, horticulture, rice, and secondary crops are grown on 12 hectares of agricultural land in the Pagergunung I and Pagergunung II Hamlets of Sitimulyo District. The primary issue that farmers deal with is the scarcity of water, particularly during the dry season. Commonly, diesel engines are used for water management because there are no electrical sources near agricultural land, resulting in the overall waterneeds not being fulfilled and may lead to the degradation of agricultural land. The goal of this community service initiative is to construct an irrigation system using submersible water pumps that are powered by Internet of Things (IoT)-based New Renewable Energy (EBT) technology. Consequently, the farmers in Pagergunung I and Pagergunung II Hamlets are able to overcome their challenges thanks to the creation of this system. An Arduino microcontroller served as the control center for the irrigation system’s design, a selenoid valve opened and closed water channels, solar panels provided electrical power, and the Ubidots application served as the system’s user interface. The activity’s outcomes demonstrate that solar panels can provide electricity when it is sunny, that irrigation management can be controlled with applications, and that the constructed irrigation system can irrigate agricultural land uniformly.

Abstract

Spreadsheet is a familiar application, and many people use it to record data in tabular form and process data, which makes it very easy to create the information needed faster. Nowadays, spreadsheets can be implemented using Google Sheets. The Community Service Program was carried out at XYZ Church in Salatiga City using the spreadsheet application. Activity Objective: Help churches to have an equipment inventory information system and mentor the use of information systems. Using Google Sheets (spreadsheet) applications so that they can help churches record and organize a number of inventories effectively and efficiently. Using the PRA (Participatory Rapid Appraisal) method and following stages such as initial surveys, problem identification, alternative solution design, system development, system training, and application use assistance for parties related to church inventory. Application development using Google Sheets by using the App Sheet module to create the user interface, while the database still uses sheets in the spread sheet. The training was given to representatives per category. The implementation of community service is likely successful because of the training participants who agree on average above 75%, those who are neutral on average below 25%, and those who are not neutral 0%. The results of the equipment inventory information system model from this community service can be used as an example for other churches in the city of Salatiga
