Abstract

Stunted toddlers are the result of persistent nutritional deficiencies caused by insufficient food intake, as well as infectious infections and environmental issues. The physical environment and cleanliness around the house have a significant impact on the health of the occupants, especially the nutritional status of children under the age of five. Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), which includes drinking water sources, physical quality of drinking water, ownership of latrines, and hygiene, which includes the practice of washing hands, is one indirect factor that causes stunting. WASH has an impact on the nutritional health of children who are stunted, primarily due to infectious infections. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between physical water quality and the incidence of diarrhea with stunting at the Arso City Health Center. The research design used cross sectional with 45 respondents as the subject. Respondents with the physical quality of water that met the requirements were 33 (73.3%) respondents, while children under five who had a history of diarrhea were 30 (66.7%) respondents. There was no relationship between physical water quality and stunting (p=0.496). There is a relationship between the incidence of diarrhea with stunting (p = 0.007).It is expected that parents who have toddlers use clean water and maintain hygiene so that their toddlers do not suffer from diarrhea.

Abstract

Sleep is an important step in the recovery process of patients in the ICU. Poor sleep quality is one of the events that prolongs the patient's stay in the ICU. Sleep disturbances in critically ill patients occur from the initial phase of treatment to the late stages of recovery for more than two decades. The causes of disturbances in the quality and quantity of sleep in critically ill patients are the patient's own illness, the effects of drugs, psychological factors, the environment, namely noise, lighting, patient and provider interactions. health services and treatment procedures. This study aimed to identify the difference of sleep quality on patients in the ICU after using earplugs and eyemasks. This study was quasi experiment study with nonequivalent control group design. Respondents in this study amounted to 15 patients treated in the ICU obtained from 30 samples of patients. This study states that 10-17% of the noise in the intensive care unit is at a level that causes patients to wake up and wake up from their sleep, namely the noise reaches 70dB and is mostly caused by communication between staff and patients or with others as well as television. The noise experienced by the patient can come from the bedsite monitor alarm, the infusion/syringe pump alarm, pulse oximetry, the voice of the officer's telephone, television, room telephone and ventilator alarm. The provision of a combination earplug and eye mask intervention to improve the quality of sleep of patients in the intensive room of Bhakti Wira Tamtama Hospital Semarang proved to be very significant, with a p value of 0.000. Recommendations for further research are that more in-depth interventions can be carried out by paying attention to other factors, namely the patient's condition, giving nursing interventions at night to the use of medications that affect the quality of sleep of patients in the intensive care unit.

This research is quantitative research with the design of a cross-sectional study using primary data. The population in this research is a young woman in Sirnagalih Village who is 10-19 years old and has been menstruating. The sample selection method used in research is the “quota sampling” technique with 72 people as subjects. The data analysis was conducted with univariate tests to describe sociodemographic characteristics, knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to anemia prevention in adolescent girls, bivariate tests with Chi-squares, and multivariate tests using logistic regression. It was found that the level of knowledge and attitudes of adolescent girls towards anemia in Sirnagalih village is still quite low. The results found that variables related to anemia prevention behavior are knowledge (p-value 0.005), attitude (p-value 0.021), and family income (0.021). The results of the multivariate analysis revealed that family income was the most influential independent variable, with a POR value of 12,068 (95% CI 2,447–59,523; p = 0.002). Besides the income variable, there were knowledge and attitude variables that correlated with adolescent girls' preventive behavior. So, there is a need for cross-sectoral efforts to increase family income and the role of community health care in increasing the knowledge and attitudes of adolescents through promotional education related to anemia prevention.

Abstract

Supplements for pregnant women are one of the treatment strategies that have important benefits in fulfilling the nutrition of pregnant women with poor nutrition in increasing fetal growth. One strategy for handling stunting cases at an early age is with additional interventions that can have an impact on reducing stunting cases. The purpose ofthis study was to systematically review the intervention of pregnant women with supplements and their benefits in preventing stunting. This systematic review was conducted using the 2009 PRISMA checklist. This study used databases namely PubMed, Cochrane Library, Springer Link, Base. The inclusion criteria for this study were English articles with a randomized controlled trial design (RCT) published in the last 10 years. This study found that seven studies met the inclusion criteria. Supplement interventions for pregnant women are divided into three types of supplements, namely lipid-based nutritional supplements (LNS-SQ), zinc supplements, and protein-energy food supplements that can be used as stunting prevention interventions. The LNS-SQ intervention can increase fetal growth but it is necessary to consider the intervention procedure and dose, content of supplements, and side effects of the intervention. The supplement intervention uses a holistic community approach strategy that has a positive impact on stunting prevention.
