<![CDATA[This is a study about national identity. National identity is sense of belonging to the state. The focus is to describe iInternalization patterns the national identity of non government religious organization in Medan City. The finding of this study is there are non-standard pattern the internalization national identities of non government religious organization in Medan City. There is only routine activities such as socialization conducted by government agencies such as kesbanglinmaspol. Other institutions such as the Forum for Religious Harmony (FKUB) activity is focused on the establishment of houses of worship socialization. This study is using political identity approach. Data collection is using field study techniques and literature (method inter-views, library research (library research) and study documents. <![CDATA[The concept of development and its results, is still being debated. Several theorists have demon-strated that development is a tools to reduce ppoverty and and the others consider the opposite. This study analyzes the political development and the many issues related to development. This study is using political development approach and also library research method to collect data. This study have used qualitative methods to analyze data. The results of these studies have found that the development is a global paradox. Development has varied problems and development led to imbalances world. Development also raises a moral issue, environmental damage, culture of consumerism, natural disasters and humanitarian disasters. This condition has led to the rejection will be development in some locations. There is a gap between desire and reality.Keywords: Political development, economic development, globalization.]]>

<![CDATA[In the history of general election of regional head (Pemilukada) at Dumai City (Kota Dumai), the incumbent candidate always beaten by new challenger candidate. Interestingly, Khairul Anwar-Agus Widayat is the winner of the general election of regional head 2010. They are candidates in the election Dumai in 2005 and has been a crushing defeat compared to Zul AS-Sunaryo. This study explains why they succeed win that general election. This study is using po-litical behavior approach. Collecting data of this study is using field research and data analysis using quantitative and qualitative method. The finding is,there are three main causes of victory Khairul Anwar-Agus Widayat. First, this candidates promising change issues. Second, there are many people were disappointed to the icumbent. Third, there are correspondence between vision with the will of the people. Voter has made his choice based on many factors, and other factors have a smaller effect than the three factors.Keywords: Incumbent, challenger, local election.]]>

<![CDATA[Local Election is a process of manifestation the democracy in regional levels in order to select the head of the region directly by the citizens to look for a leader that they want. This is study about Analysis of Aceh Party's Strategy on Aceh Local Election 2012 (Pemilukada Aceh 2012). There are five candidates spesifically: Tgk. Ahmad Tajuddin and Ir. Suriansyah, Irwandi Yusuf and Muhyan Yunan, Prof. Darni Daud and DR. Ahmad Fauzi, Muhammad Nazar, S.Ag. and Ir. Nova Iriansyah, Dr. Zaini Abdullah and Muzakkir Manaf. Aceh Election in 2012 was won by dr. Zaini Abdullah and Muzakkir Manaf (ZIKIR). This study mainly disscusses about strategies Aceh Party in the process of winning dr. Zaini Abdullah-Muzakkir Manaf on the Local Election 2012. This sudy using institutional approach and collecting data is using interviews techniques also library research. There are three strategies used by Aceh Party in the process of winning dr. Zaini Abdullah-Muzakkir Manaf on the Local Election 2012. <![CDATA[General election is an important process in democratic countries. Therefore the general election held not only at the central level but also at regional. The village chief elections in the village Sayur Mahincat Kecamatan Aek Nabara Barumun Kabupaten Padang Lawas held on 10 No-vember 2011. This process raises political conflict. This study tried to describe facts about the Sayur Mahincat Village Chief Election (Pemilihan Kepala Desa) in 2011. Specifically looking at the political conflict in village chief elections. This study was conducted with field research techniques. The data analysis of this study uses qualitative analysis. There are three important things underlying the emergence of conflict in the selection of the village chief. First, there are deception in the selection process of village chief candidates; Second, the process of voters data collection have had alot of problems; Third, there are various violation of the village chief candidates during the campaign process.Keywords: Political conflict, elections, political behavior.]]>

<![CDATA[Political movement is a social movement in politics. Political movement is more than a movement that has the purpose of achieving political power. This is a study about political movement of Kartosoewirjo. Darul Islam and the Indonesian Islamic Army as a political move-ment. The focus discusses whether Darul Islam movement and the Indonesian Islamic Army led by S.M. Kartosoewirjo (1949 – 1962) was a political movement. The findings of this study among others, there are three things which explains that the Darul Islam / Indonesian Islamic Army is a political movement. First, the establishment of the movement of DI/TII as a form of disillusionment with the leadership of Soekarno; Second, the mobilization of resources is done in the movement of DI/TII; Third, the movement of DI/TII managed to cause political tensions with the Indonesian government. <![CDATA[This article provides a consistent description of the al-Washliyah as a third largest Islamic organization in Indonesia, and the largest in North Sumatra, related to their participation in the contestation in local elections (elections). Specifically, this article describes the transformation of Al-Washliyah from the cultural movement to electoral politics. This article argues that there are two factors that underlie why the polarization of attitudes about participation in the organization's members as candidates in the election: (1) The structure of the organization itself, and (2) an open political atmosphere. A fortune that organizations like al-Islam Washliyah active as a civic organization, has the advantage of the network through the women's wing organizations, students, youth, welfare agencies, educationand other forms of public service that provides the opportunity and the chance to follow in pilkada. However, the transformation of the organization's involvement in electoral politics explains the tendency delivers attention to strategies of non-participatory could be beneficial for those with the potential to change the social order in non-electoral method.Keywords: Islamic organization, cultural movement, electoral politics.]]>

<![CDATA[Political socialization is important in general election. It’s effects wheather the vote would be good or bad. Partai Keadilan Sejahtera also do this way to influence voters. This study discuss-es about the method of DPD Partai Keadilan Sejahtera Kota Medan to successful legislative election in 2009. This study found there are three important method, that implemented by the the Partai Keadilan Sejahtera in political socialization. First, visit the community directly, par-ticular to each residence. Second, utilizing the approach of religious organizations; Third, uti-lizing the missionary activities in the mosques. The method this study is used qualitative de-scriptive. Colecting data of this study is using field research, eg. interview. <![CDATA[Pemilukada be held in Padang Lawas Utara in 2008. This is a study about the role of political elites in Pemilukada (the election of regional head) Padang Lawas Utara. The focus is to de-scribe the role of the elite (political parties) in the procces of winning pemilukada. This study is using political elite aproach. Colecting data of this study is using field research, eg. observa-tion, interview and study documents. The analysis using descriptive analysis. This study found that there are three important explanation about the role of elites to manage few leap to win pemilukada. First, internally, the elite contribute to bring over the main candidate to win inter-nal mechanism for certain (in internal party); Second, the elite set up the direction of coalition between political parties; Third, the elite have participated in defining campaign strategy.Keywords: Political strategy, campaign, political elite.]]>

<![CDATA[General election of regional head (Pemilukada) is influenced by various factors. This study explains the influence of ethnics towards political choice in local election. This study is using political behavior approach. Collecting data of this study is using field research and data anal-ysis using quantitative and qualitative method. The finding is, influence of ethnics found in sev-eral voter especially in case Malay Riau ethnics. But, in other case, several voters from Java ethnic and another “visitors” ethnics vote without identification of ethnic. It can be seen from the factors that influence voter for voting Zulkifli AS-dr Sunaryo candidate. In the local election of Dumai in 2005 found mostly voters who votes Zulkifli AS-Dr Sunaryo candidate did not vote because of ethnics’ identification. So, in this case there is correlation between ethnics and polit-ical. But the relation is imperfect. In other words there are many another relations except eth-nics’ factors that is linked with political choice in local election of Dumai City in 2005.Keywords: Voter behavior, local election, etnicity.]]>
