<![CDATA[This study examines the Golkar Party victory in legislative elections in Siak 2014 and are the focus of this research is what strategy the Regional Leadership Council II Golkar Party to win the election. The focus of this research is the influence of regents to win the election in 2014. In this study, the use of qualitative methods for descriptive analysis of the data presented in the form of qualitative portrait of the real situation in detail and the actual look at the problem and research objectives. This study using purposive sampling and interviewing informants as infor-mation objects that aims to achieve the goal to get the information in this study. Data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. The results showed in making the strategy un-dertaken by the leadership of the Regional Council II Golkar Party in legislative elections in Siak 2014, there are several strategies undertaken by the Regional Executive Council II Golkar Party of which recruit potential legislative candidates won the election, forming network Suc-cess Team in each district, featuring issues appropriate to their own desires to the community, district head in the direction of Regents of the Golkar Party.Keywords: Political party, legislative election, local election.]]>

<![CDATA[It is the study of news regional head candidates in local elections in Kota Medan. Precisely in April 2010 local elections and published by Harian Waspada. The contents of the news pub-lished are that has associated with one of the candidates. This study was conducted with the ap-proach of political communication. Collecting data are using literature and documents. The da-ta analysis with descriptive analysis method. The study found there are variations in the quanti-ty of news regional head candidates. This means that no candidate dominates the news content. This can be seen from the difference in the news every week especially regarding regional head candidates. However there is a regional head candidates very rarely reported. It seems related to the amount of advertising campaigns published in this daily. But the fact it is not related at all to the advertising campaign, although it is almost impossible eliminate their relationship.Keywords: Regional election, candidate, mass media.]]>

<![CDATA[Political recruitment is one of the substantial indicators to run the functions of political party such as accumulating and aggregating of political interests. The absence of recruitment process can be clearly explained the generation of the party will be loosed. This is the study of recruit-ment pattern of Demokrat Party and Nasional Demokrat Party (Nasdem) in the 2014 election. It focus on how the cadre employment system of both Demokrat party and Nasdem Party in the Province of North Sumatra, especially in recruiting of the women candidates as the parties member. The findings of the study are both political parties have used the open recruitment sys-tem. Then, there are several important points to be highlighted as the process of political re-cruitment. First is the compartmentalization; second is a partisan; third is an immediate surviv-al; and fourth is the civil-service reform. The used method is the descriptive-qualitative method. It intends to describe the results of the study, which are more detail and comprehensive.Keywords: Recruitment, elections, candidates legislative women.]]>

<![CDATA[This research was conducted on the basis of gender inequalities are still many who manifests in various forms. It is necessary to process gender-based regulation in any policy formulation by the government. Strengthening the role of women legislators is an important step to accommo-date the various demands, rights, and aspirations of women so as to produce public policies based on gender equality. This research uses descriptive qualitative method to describe the ac-tivities of a female legislative involvement Medan in quantity and quality in the use of his posi-tion to generate gender-based public policy. The results of this study indicate that: 1.Lack of po-litical education of women-owned legislature; 2.Patriarchal culture that remains deeply em-bedded in the public field; 3.Less time to focus on politics; 4.Female legislative indifference to the condition of women in the city of Medan; 5.The notion that women rely more on emotional creatures. <![CDATA[This study examined how voters map to see the map of demographics population in the regional election in Sumatera Utara Province In 2013, the main focus of this study is looking at how the composition of the population in the city of Medan based on differences in ethnicity, gender, education, and work in each District of the sample. This study becomes important in terms of the academic study of political preferences crew community Medan is the actual discussion re-lated to urban society and the rationality of voters as an indicator of the quality of the demo-cratic system that runs in the area. This subject also related to the dynamic nature of social and cultural life of society, in which the dynamics determine how the process of development of a region. <![CDATA[Election is an embodiment of the passage of democratic political life. Election is also a benchmark for democracy because it involves the direct participation of the people in determining political leaders. This study is about North Sumatera legislatif candidates recruit-ment process in Nasdem Party at 2014. The focus is to discuss about what are the step in North Sumatera legislatif candidates recruitment mechanism in Nasdem Party. The findings of this study include there are four step in North Sumatera legislatif candidates recruitment mechan-ism. First, the formation of legislative candidating team work; Second, the legislative candidate registration; Third, legislative candidating verification; Fourth, the determining and inquiry of legislative candidate to the centre party. The method used is descriptive-qualitative method. <![CDATA[Local elite is a group of people who have a GPA higher than others. Because of that, political elite can influence people's behavior. H. Arman Wagirin categorized as local elite. He has influenced people's behavior, especially in Kecamatan Hamparan Perak in the 2009 elections. This is a study about the role of H. Wagirin Arman on voting behavior in the Kecamatan Ham-paran Perak in 2009. The focus is how the role of H. Wagirin in shaping voter behavior in the legislative elections in the Kecamatan Hamparan Perak. This study find there are three impor-tant things that mark the role of H. Arman Wagirin the formation of communities in the Kecamatan Hamparan Perak voting behavior. First, the emotional closeness H. Arman Wagirin with various community groups; Second, the public perception of H. Wagirin Arman; Third, remains at the heart of societ. The method of this study is descriptive-qualitative. <![CDATA[Conflict is a part of social phenomenon. The conservation policy of Batang Gadis National Park (TNBG) –at Mandailing Natal Regency Sumatera Utara Province- coloured with diverse interests of the actors. These interests had caused a conflict due to the overlap of area of TNBG and area of mining concession owned by PT. Sorikmas Mining (PT. SMM). This research pur-poses to explore and examine the interests behind establishment of conservation policy of TNBG which had emerged conflict from political eclogy perspective. The finding shows that establish-ment policy of TNBG was not purely initiated by environmental preservation motives, but TNBG was an existence of diverse economic interests of many actors. TNBG is also became arena by local elites and the NGO activist for their local political purposes. This study is using political ecology as the approach and the data collection is using field research. <![CDATA[Indonesia is a country that uses a democratic political system. Impact of that, this country organize general election periodically. General election held in Indonesia on April 2014. There are twelve parties and three Aceh Parties competing in this election. This study is about shift of party conflict in the Dapil I North Tapanuli in legislative elections 2014. Spesifically this study discussing about causes a shift of party conflict in the Dapil I North Tapanuli. This study is using political conclict as the approach and the data collection is using field research. The me-thod used is descriptive. Analysis is using qualitative technique. The finding of the study is there are three main causes of the conflict shifts. First, the impact of changes in the electoral system; secondly, ideological crisis of political parties; Third, the role of political parties and campaign process.Keywords: Conflict, Political Parties, Legislative Elections.]]>

<![CDATA[Land conflict and agrarian reform is the most interesting issues in Indonesia. As we know a lot of people in Indonesia still lives on farms. There is no exception in Sumatera Utara Province. There are many land conflicts here. This study is the study of the problems of agrarian conflict in the Village District Pandumaan-Sipituhuta Humbang Hasundutan (Humbahas) Regency. The focus is about how the process of resolving issues of land conflict in the village Pandumaan-Sipituhuta. The findings of this study, among others, there are three important things to be problems in the agrarian conflict Sipituhuta - Pandumaan village. First, the eucalyptus forest planting activities in forest communities frankincense; Second, the weak role of district govern-ment Humbang Hasundutan; Third, problem-solving solutions. This study is using conflict approach. The data collection is using field research.
