Facing an era of increasingly fierce competition, a person is required to have a high entrepreneurial spirit so that he can run a business that he lives well. Thus we must be able to see market opportunities and desires in terms of needs and selling points that we will offer to consumers.Â Entrepreneurs in sewing services are still promising. Even though now there are a lot of apparel production, stitching services are still needed by consumers. Because there are some risks in purchasing apparel that are usually accepted by buyers. Not all clothes fit to be worn by consumers. Especially for people who have different body postures from the standards of people in general, such as too small or too fat. Besides that, there are certain clothes models and materials that are more comfortable when used from ordinary stitches, rather than in the form of apparel manufactured by the factory. For example, traditional clothing, brocade fabrics, suits, kebaya, woven fabrics and others. In connection with this, it is felt necessary to provide training to improve the skills of clothing tailors to be able to produce clothes that are in accordance with market desires efficiently and effectively. Besides improving skills in spraying and embroidering in order to have the ability to compete in terms of quality, models, variations in motifs and the color combination of clothing produced, so as to create and have a lot of marketing networks. The need for training that enables tailor clothing to calculate total sales revenue and total costs so that they are able to know how much profit is obtained per piece of clothing.Â It is hoped that after the mentoring, the partners will be more knowledgeable, able to apply this knowledge in their daily work and transmit this knowledge to other dressmakers. The development of SMEs in the culinary in Medan has increased every year. Market opportunities provide SMEs to grow. Diversification in food processing can be done by adding pumpkin (Cucurbita Moschata) into food dough food so that it becomes a different product from those in the market. YAAHFTICS is a SMEs which is engaged in culinary, especially birthday cake, pizza, roll cake and others. Mitra has been established since 2015. Partners rely on marketing through social media Instagram. In running the business cycle, partners experience several major problems. Starting in terms of business financial management, product diversification to the problem of quantity production. The aim of the Community Service Program activities is that Partners can increase their production capacity so that they can increase their income, able to produce diversified processed products from pumpkins, and able to determine product prices with optimal profit. The method of activity used is the delivery of production equipment, the practice of using production equipment to increase production capacity, the practice of making diversified processed pumpkin products and monitoring the production and sales processes. The results of the oven and mixer grant in this service activity can increase the partnerâ€™s production capacity product. After counseling the importance of product diversification and the practise of diversification of pumpkin processed pumpkin products, the partner have been able to diversity their processed pumpkin products. And the partner have been able to determine product prices with optimal profit after the partner has been given training in determining the cost of goods sold.

Most of the mangrove ecosystems in North Sumatera have changed the statue into the lands of business which is ignoring environmental aspects. Such as pond clearing, conversion of land into plantations and agriculture, etc. The most ironic happens on Belawan Sicanang, Medan Belawan, Medan City. This has caused fundamental changes for mangrove ecosystem Belawan Sicanang is the only one subdistrict in Medan City which has the widest mangrove ecosystems, i.e. 895.24 ha. However, in recent years has been both quality and quantity declines in mangrove ecosystems due to land conversion into the industry, habitation, ponds, and palm plantation. This mangrove ecosystem has an important function as a buffer zone of Medan city from tidal floods, abrasion, strong waves, and tsunami. Moreover, mangrove ecosystems also functionate as a place for the reproduction of seawater biota which is the source of small fisherman livelihood living in the coastal area. The application of mangrove wood-seeding technology is a solution for wood-mangrove regeneration and rehabilitation which is very useful for mangrove habitat. Inventory of mangrove seedlings is important for mangrove rehabilitation activity. Seedling sources used are comes from the local area so that is expected for facilitating in seed collection and makes the living percentage of mangrove seeds higher. Through a dedication activity, enthusiasm appeared and a citizen or partner group interested in participating in dedication activity so that is expected to foster enthusiasm in protecting the coastal environment by conducting seedings and rehabilitation of mangrove forests. Then, the mangrove condition caring community of Belawan Sicanang, Medan Belawan, Medan City formatted, so that the target to make coastal area became ecotourism area optimized.

Oryctes rhinoceros is an important pest in oil palm plants attacking plants and immature plants. Utilization of oil palm empty fruit bunches in the field causes the spread and increase of O. rhinoceros attacks. The phenol compound and phenyl phenol released by decomposed oil palm empty fruit bunch attract O. rhinoceros to the organic material. The process of decomposition of oil palm empty fruit bunches 6-9 months resulted in an increase in pest population. O. rhinoceros larvae have symbiotic bacteria in their intestines and produce hydrolytic enzymes that have the potential and can be developed to degrade oil palm empty fruit bunch waste that is used as a composting starter. composting. The materials used in this study were larvae of O. rhinoceros instar 3, culture media of NA, NB, fungi, trichoderma, yeast and other materials that support the research. Tools used in scalpels, measuring cups, microscopes and others. The study was conducted at the Plant Disease Laboratory and Greenhouse, Agrotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra, Medan from June 2019 to October 2019. This research used a Non Factorial Complete Randomized Design with 9 treatments and 3 replications. The results of the study were obtained 2 bacterial species namely Achromobacter SP and Bacillus SP then made as a composting activator. The use of this symbiont bacteria influences the physical and chemical factors of compost produced. As for physically obtained compost color in the treatment of P8 7.5 YR 2/1 (Black) while P0 7.5 YR 3/2 (Dark Brown). Compost has a soil aroma and temperature. Material reduction during composting from all treatments averaged 42.14%. The best C / N ratio is in the treatment of P7 (Bacillus + molasses) that is equal to 14.78% and the composting process lasts for 10 weeks.

The existence of educational institutions is very important and strategic to educate a quality generation. The target of this service program is junior high school in Medan, namely MTs P.P. Raudhatul Hasanah at the Ar-Raudlatul Hasanah Islamic Boarding School in Medan. Waste management and utilization and through the provision of soil microorganisms into compost and its role in land use through hybrid maize cultivation in the MTs P.P. school environment. Raudhatul Hasanah in studying and knowing waste management and its use through counseling and demonstrations. The success of the program in schools in MTs P.P. Raudhatul Hasanah Medan is largely determined by the participation of partners at each stage of the activities carried out. Partners namely schools in MTs P.P. Raudhatul Hasanah Medan really helped the implementation of community service programs in the USU community.
