Abstract

The choice of impeller type is an important factor in maximizing the performance of a stirred tank reactor in saponification process. This study aims to determine the type of impeller that can produce the highest reaction rate by taking into account changes in alkali concentration in saponification reactions so as to obtain a shorter residence time. The saponification process was carried out by reacting 30% oil with alkali (KOH) at operating conditions 70C, stirring speed of 400 rpm for 45 minutes using 4 types of impellers namely paddle-2 blades, pitch blade turbine 45°-2 blades, paddle-4 blades, pitch blade turbine 45°-4 blades. Testing of alkali concentration was carried out every 5 minutes until the reaction was complete. Alkali concentration was obtained at the end of the reaction using a paddle-2 blades impeller of 0.182 M with a conversion of 97.35%, a pitch blade turbine 45°-2 blades of 0.142 M with a conversion of 97.93%, paddle-2 blades of 0.106 M with conversion of 98.46%, pitch blade turbine 45°-4 blades of 0.100 M with conversion of 98.54%.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is cancer that occurs in the cervix , an area in the female reproductive organs which is the entrance to the uterus, located between the uterus and the intercourse or vagina. The main cause of cervical cancer is Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) infection. Cervical cancer usually attacks women aged 35-55 years. Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (IVA) is a visual inspection of the cervix using vinegar with the eye to detect abnormalities after applying 3-5% vinegar. This community service aims to: (1) provide communication, education and information (IEC) about cervical cancer and the benefits of IVA Test, (2) conduct IVA Test, (3) measure the knowledge of women of childbearing age about cervical cancer and IVA test. Implemented at Klinik Bersalin Sari Medan (30 people). Data analysis using Wilcoxon test. The results of the activity obtained the majority of data aged 37-39 years (43.3%), Javanese (40%), Islamic religion (90%), first married age 21-23 years (43.3%), the number of births 3 times (30% ), the IVA test results are negative (90%), inflammation / cervicitis (10%). The knowledge before being given Information Education Communication (IEC) averaged = 14.57; SD = 3,633 and after being given IEC average = 23.60, SD = 1,589. Statistical test results obtained mean difference = 9.03 and P value = 0.001, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of IEC on women of childbearing age knowledge about cervical cancer and IVA tests. It is recommended to midwives to socialize the benefits of IVA tests and carry them out as early detection of cervical cancer.

Abstract

This community service aims to increase insight into the use of goat manure as fertilizer mixed with dolomite with very minimal expenditure of money using equipment provided by the USU Community Service Team in 2019 which was carried out in Persadanta Village, Barusjahe District, Karo District. The specific target of this service is to increase the productivity of agricultural products related to the use of fertilizers and be able to sell them to other communities, so as to increase community income for the achievement of a prosperous community, especially farmer groups in the village. So far, the people directly use goat manure as fertilizer for their plants. This is very detrimental to the community because the process is long to be able to become fertilizer and reduced nutrient elements that are poured into plants openly. Besides the use of dolomite mixed with goat manure is very good because dolomite is very much and easily obtained in Tanah Karo. Therefore, it is necessary to give insight and knowledge to the community, especially the Rumah Rih Hamlet Village Group Persadanta Village about the use of goat manure mixed with dolomite. So that people who have been buying fertilizer at a high price can manage it themselves by using the goat manure grinding equipment with the method to be implemented, namely counseling, training, direct practice and work evaluation.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze Japanese grammatical and lexical errors in written languages. This study involved 45 nurses from the School of Health Sciences as apprentices to Japan with a 180-word Japanese essay sample based on the Language error definition of Corder (1981) and Weinreich's interference definition (1970). In the process of switching Indonesian into Japanese, errors always occur as they speak. Language learners simply move the grammar rules of Indonesian language into Japanese without thinking about the rules that exist in Japanese. Translating from Indonesian into Japanese, interference is the most powerful factor. When learning Japanese, Indonesian as a mother tongue (B1) is always disruptive, Indonesian language has an influence on grammatical and lexical errors of Japanese written by STIKES nurse of Medistra Lubuk Pakam as apprentices to Japan. Errors made by nurses based on linguistic categories were 33.66% errors in the morphology field, 23.38% syntactic errors and 42.96% errors in the lexical field. Error occurred due to negative transfer.
