Abstract

Background: Anxiety is a common thing that occurs in patients who will undergo surgery. The anxiety that occurs in preoperative patients can be felt from the time they are scheduled for surgery until the time of surgery arrives. Anxiety management can be done using pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. Purpose: The aim of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of finger grip relaxation techniques and progressive muscle relaxation on anxiety in pre-caesarean section surgery patients in the Kediri Regency Regional General Hospital. Method: This study used a Quasy-experiment With Pretest Posttest to determine the effect of finger grip and progressive muscle relaxation techniques. The sample selection in this study used a purposive sampling technique and a total of 56 patients were obtained who were divided into 2 groups, namely the finger grip intervention group and the progressive muscle intervention group. The pretest and posttest data for each group were then analyzed using the Wilcoxon Test to determine the effect and the Mann-Whitney Test to compare the posttest results of the 2 groups. Results: The results of the study showed that the Wilcoxon test in both intervention groups obtained a p-value < α (0.05), which means that before and after the intervention, both progressive muscle relaxation and finger grip relaxation had an influence on the anxiety level of pre-caesarean section patients. For the results of the Mann-Whitney test, the p-value was 0.063 or p-value > α (0.05), which means there was no significant difference between changes in anxiety whether those given progressive muscle relaxation intervention or finger grip relaxation. Conclusion: Finger grip relaxation techniques and progressive muscle relaxation techniques are both effective in reducing anxiety levels in pre-caesarean section surgery patients. So this non- pharmacological therapy can be an option for patients in dealing with anxiety problems before  caesarean section surgery.

Abstract

Background: Frambusia, a neglected tropical disease, poses a significant health challenge in tropical regions, including Indonesia. The disease predominantly affects children and adolescents, especially in areas with poor sanitation. This study evaluates the impact of video-based health education on adolescents' knowledge of Frambusia at Puskesmas Tairi. Purpose: To assess the effectiveness of video-based education in enhancing adolescents' awareness and understanding of Frambusia disease. Method: A pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach was used. A sample of 85 adolescents, aged 12 to 15 years, received health education on Frambusia through video media. Knowledge levels were assessed using pretest and posttest questionnaires, analyzed with the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Results: Before the intervention, 85.7% of respondents had poor knowledge about Frambusia. Post-intervention, 94.3% of respondents demonstrated good knowledge. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test revealed a significant improvement in knowledge (p < 0.001). Discussion: The use of video-based education significantly enhanced adolescents' understanding of Frambusia. This approach effectively engages both auditory and visual senses, leading to better knowledge retention and potential community impact. Conclusion: Video-based health education is a powerful tool for improving disease awareness among adolescents. Implementing similar methods could benefit other regions with high incidence of Frambusia and other neglected diseases.

Abstract

Background: Stunting is a major public health challenge, particularly in disadvantaged communities where access to adequate nutrition and healthcare is limited. Addressing this issue requires effective interventions to improve child nutrition and feeding practices. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Nutritional Rangers Mobile Application in improving child nutrition, feeding responses, and mothers' knowledge among underprivileged families with stunted children aged 6 to 24 months. Method: A pre-test and post-test design was employed, involving 22 mothers of stunted children from Kediri Regency, selected through purposive sampling. The app provided nutritional education, personalized dietary recommendations, and monitoring features over a three-month period. Results: Significant improvements were observed in child nutrition metrics, with mean weight increasing from 11.25 kg to 14.48 kg and height showing incremental growth. Paired sample t-tests confirmed statistical significance (p < 0.05) in all measured Z-scores (Weight-for-Age, Height-for-Age, and Weight-for-Height). Additionally, feeding responses and maternal nutritional knowledge significantly improved (p < 0.05). Discussion: The study highlights the effectiveness of the Nutritional Rangers Mobile Application in enhancing nutritional outcomes and maternal knowledge in resource-limited settings. The app's features contributed to significant improvements in child growth metrics and feeding practices. Conclusion: The Nutritional Rangers Mobile Application is a valuable tool for empowering mothers with nutritional education and real-time monitoring, leading to sustainable improvements in child health and nutrition outcomes in disadvantaged communities.

The research design was quasi-experimental, one group pretest-post test, the research population was 700 respondents with a sample of 42 respondents. The sampling technique was purposive sampling using the Slovin formula, with the inclusion criteria of people who were willing to be respondents, aged 19-60 years, able to read and write, cooperative, at the research location, and married. Exclusion criteria People who did not want to be respondents, were not at the location during the study, were sick. The study was conducted on March 21 - March 28, 2024, with the variable of community participation in preventing bullying, the research instrument used a questionnaire with a reliability coefficient value of Alpha Cronbach α > 0.5. Data were analyzed using the T-test. Data are presented in table form. Results: The results of the T-Test analysis obtained a p value <0.003, which means that there was a change in role after being given health education on bullying prevention. Conclusion: The role of the community is influenced by several factors in preventing bullying, namely gender, age, education, occupation, having received information about bullying prevention and sources of information.

Abstract

Background: Cardiac arrest is an emergency in which blood circulation suddenly stops, characterized by loss of arterial blood pressure. Cardiac arrest can be sudden and cause death. Cardiac arrest is a cause of high mortality. High mortality in Cardiac Arrest cases is due to slow help due to lack of knowledge and skills regarding Basic life Support. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of Basic Life Support Health Education on increasing knowledge and skills in cardiac arrest in students. Method: This research design is Pra experimental with one group pre-post test conducted on 41 samples with simple random sampling. The instrument of thr research are used questionare for knowledge and observed for measured of the skil. Results:The results before being given health education the level of knowledge was less than 80.5% and the level of skills was less than 85.4%, while after being given health education the level of knowledge was good 53.7% and the level of skills was good 53.7%. From the analysis using the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test, the p-value is 0.000 <0.05, there is an effect of increasing knowledge and skills before and after Basic Life Support health education for students. Conclusion: Health education with a short period of time can improve knowledge and skills but to improve high quality, training is needed for a long period.
