Abstract

The growth of social media has created significant opportunities while also intensifying cybersecurity challenges such as data privacy risks, misinformation, and user behavior manipulation. This study maps the landscape of social media cybersecurity research from 2004 to 2025 by analyzing publication trends, research collaborations, and dominant thematic clusters. A bibliometric approach was applied to Scopus-indexed publications using VOSviewer and Biblioshiny to examine keyword co-occurrence, institutional networks, and geographic distributions. The findings reveal a shift from purely technical security approaches toward socio-technical perspectives integrating user behavior, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Six major research clusters were identified, covering AI-based analytics, data protection, trust and transparency, cyber threats, technology policy, and healthcare applications. These results provide insights for strengthening cybersecurity strategies in the global social media ecosystem.

Abstract

This study examines how the graduation process at SMK Citra Bangsa Mandiri Purwokerto is represented through video uploads on social media, and how such visualizations construct a new meaning of graduation. The main issue addressed is the shift in the meaning of graduation when academic symbols typically used at the university level are applied in the context of secondary schools. To address this issue, the study employs a qualitative approach through visual analysis of the videos’ aesthetic elements, such as composition, lighting, camera angles, and presentation structure, which are then combined with an interpretation of social meanings derived from public responses. The results show that the dominance of academic symbols, cinematic visual aesthetics, and structured event packaging create a graduation representation that resembles a university commencement, thereby generating a new reality accepted by the audience without questioning the vocational context of the school. These findings highlight the capability of social media to influence how educational institutions present themselves and how the public assigns meaning to educational symbols. The study concludes that in the digital era, graduation is no longer merely an academic ritual but has become a visual construction that follows the logic of attention and social media aesthetics

Abstract

This study aims to understand how men perceive the representation of unfaithful women in the Netflix series Losmen Bu Broto. Based on a constructivist paradigm, this research employed a qualitative descriptive method with Moustakas’ phenomenological approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with five male participants aged 18–25 who had watched the entire series. The findings reveal gender bias in assessing infidelity: although both men and women’s unfaithfulness is judged as wrong, women are more severely condemned on moral and social grounds. This reflects the persistence of patriarchal culture that positions women as symbols of family honor. The study highlights how media not only represent but also reinforce unequal gender constructions through narrative and character depiction.

Abstract

This study aims to synthesize the dynamics, challenges, and opportunities for implementing symmetrical communication in public relations practice through a systematic literature review of scientific articles from 2021–2025. The study results indicate that symmetrical communication has developed as a strategic approach that emphasizes two-way dialogue, openness, and active participation between organizations and the public, especially in the digital context. Its implementation is dynamic and contextual, influenced by leadership factors, organizational culture, and the use of technologies such as social media and artificial intelligence. However, its implementation still faces various challenges, such as the dominance of organizational control, limited transparency, and low levels of meaningful participation. On the other hand, symmetrical communication offers strategic opportunities to increase trust, engagement, relationship quality, and organizational reputation. Thus, symmetrical communication is a relevant, adaptive approach in the digital era, but requires organizational commitment to consistently implement dialogic and participatory values.

Abstract

This study aims to understand how “butterfly students”students whose daily activities are limited to attending lectures and going straight home develop political awareness and social empathy toward student social movements through social media, particularly during the demonstration occurring on 25–28 August 2025. Using a qualitative approach with descriptive phenomenology based on Clark Moustakas’ framework, this research explores the lived experiences of students who did not directly participate in the protest. Participants consisted of students from the State Islamic University, and data were collected through semi-structured online in-depth interviews. The analysis followed the stages of epoche, phenomenological reduction, meaning units, imaginative variation, and synthesis of essence. The findings reveal that butterfly students experience fear and concern toward physical demonstrations, yet they still construct passive empathy and reflective political awareness through their digital interactions on social media. These results indicate that butterfly students are not entirely apathetic; rather, they demonstrate a reflective form of participation that remains relevant within the context of digital democracy.

Abstract

Reog Ponorogo faces preservation challenges in the digital era, especially among the younger generation. This study aims to examine the role of social media exposure and cultural knowledge in shaping public interest in Reog Ponorogo culture. This quantitative explanatory research surveyed 100 respondents aged 15-25 years in Tangerang Regency using an online questionnaire. The collected data were specifically analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The test results prove that social media exposure and cultural knowledge, both partially and simultaneously, have a positive and significant effect on public interest. The coefficient of determination analysis confirms that the integration of these two variables explains 53.6% of the variance in public interest in preserving Reog Ponorogo. In conclusion, digital exposure and cultural understanding positively predict public interest. This study recommends regular socialization regarding healthy social media usage and cultural education as a strategic effort to preserve Indonesian culture.

Abstract

Organizational communication has an important role in facilitating the effective flow of information, building clear understanding, and improving employee performance. This research aims to analyze the role of organizational communication in improving the performance of employees of the Medan Indonesian Palm Oil Institute of Technology in the digital era. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive method. The subjects of this research were the chancellor, deputy chancellor 1 for academic affairs, deputy chancellor 2 for human resources and finance, vice chancellor 3 for student affairs, and head of the human resources department. Data collection techniques in this research are interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis techniques in this research are data presentation, data reduction, conclusion drawing and evaluation. The results of this research explain that the role of organizational communication carried out by ITSI leaders has been running well. The leaders of the Indonesian palm oil technology institute carry out their role in improving employee performance by motivating employees both directly and indirectly through their respective regulations. The form of motivation is by providing class promotions, providing positions according to competency, providing training and further studies. This research also explains that in overcoming communication barriers, ITSI leaders have implemented various strategies to overcome these obstacles, such as providing adequate infrastructure, building a culture of mutual respect, and utilizing technology in communication.
