Abstract

This research is based on the determination of the hijri year carried out through an isbat session conducted by the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia. In the isbat session, it was carried out after the rukyat hisab team at the designated location points throughout Indonesia. The determination of the testimony of the rukyat hilal is an important foundation in determining the beginning of the month of Kamariah. This study examines the role of the Ministry of Religion of Padangsidimpuan City to provide concrete recommendations in its role in determining the rukyat hilal. This research is a qualitative field research. The provisional results of the study show that based on Article 52 A of Law No. 3 of 2006, it guarantees that the Ministry of Religion has the authority to carry out the rukyat hilal in the month of komariah. However, how is the coordination with related institutions, and what are the obstacles faced in its implementation. The strategic role of the Ministry of Religion of Padangsidimpuan City in determining the beginning of the hijri month scientifically and sharia, as well as the efforts that can be made to increase the effectiveness and credibility of its implementation in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the variability of surface atmospheric temperature and humidity and the implications for atmospheric stability based on observation data at the Juanda-Sidoarjo Class 1 Meteorological Station in February 2026. The method used is a quantitative approach with descriptive and evaluative analysis of temperature and humidity data at two observation times. So the results show that the temperature during the day has a greater variation of around 24.6°C to 30.0°C while the relative humidity is around 67% to 97%. Likewise, at night it has a larger variation, around 24.3°C to 26.3°C, while the relative humidity is higher, around 81% to 96%. This analysis shows an inverse relationship between temperature and humidity, where temperature increase is followed by a decrease in relative humidity. The atmospheric dynamics side of daytime conditions produces labile atmospheric conditions due to intense surface heating, while for nighttime it shows stable atmospheric conditions due to surface cooling. So that temperature and humidity variability play an important role in controlling atmospheric stability and weather dynamics in tropical regions.

Abstract

This research departs from the need to strengthen the scientific basis of the criteria of the Unified Global Hijri Calendar (KHGT), especially the criteria for the height of the hilal 5° and elongation of 8° guided by Muhammadiyah. So far, official documents on the origin of these criteria have not been widely publicized, raising questions among astronomers, astronomers, and religious institutions. The main objective of the study was to explain the mathematical analysis behind the selection of the 5° + 8° parameters. The research method was carried out with a theoretical approach using basic astronomical equations to analyze the moon's height, elongation, and azimuth difference, as well as assess its correlation with the possible visibility of the hilal. The results of this study show that the minimum hilal height of 5° and the minimum elongation of 8° have a strong scientific foundation, and do not appear arbitrarily, but are closely related to Bruin's theoretical analysis in 1977 which mapped the relationship between the height of the Moon, ARCV, the depression of the Sun, the width of the moon while the elongation parameter of 8° has a strong correlation with the theory of the visibility limit of the hilal proposed by André Danjon in 1936 the determination of 8° elongation in the KHGT can be It is understood as a form of scientific refinement that combines the theoretical limits of Danjon with an approach to optimal visibility of Bruin's analysis.
