Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe what materials are difficult in calculus courses and also materials that are misconceptions. This research was conducted to improve the competence of students in the future. The formulation of the problem in this study is "How to improve student competence in integral calculus courses?" The sub-problems are: 1) What materials do students have misconceptions in integral calculus courses? 2) What materials are difficult for students to understand in integral calculus courses? The research method used is descriptive qualitative by surveying students of Mathematics Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tanjungpura University. From the overall results, there were 22 students (60%) did not experience misconceptions and 14 students (40%) experienced misconceptions in the first concept. In the second concept, 40% did not experience misconceptions and 60% of students experienced misconceptions. For the third concept, 70% of students experienced misconceptions and 30% of students did not experience misconceptions. In the fourth concept, 28% of students experienced misconceptions and 72% of students did not experience misconceptions. For the fifth concept, 6% of students experienced misconceptions and 94% of students did not experience misconceptions. And for the sixth concept there are 28% of students experiencing misconceptions and 72% of students not experiencing misconceptions.

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the main subjects studied from elementary school to university. This is because mathematics plays an important role in life, especially in solving everyday problems. Therefore mathematics is very important in various aspects of life. However, the facts show that some students still think of mathematics as a difficult subject. This then affects the discipline and activeness of learning so that it has an impact on students' mathematics learning achievement. This study aims to determine the effect of student learning discipline and active learning on mathematics achievement. This research uses a quantitative approach with the type of ex-post facto research. The sample of this study was class VIII SMP Negeri Fatumfaun which amounted to 60 people. Data collection techniques and instruments in this research use a questionnaire or questionnaire. The data analysis technique used in this research is prerequisite test in the form of normality test, linearity test, multicollinearity test and heteroscedasticity test, and hypothesis testing using T test and F test. The results of this research show that there is a positive and significant influence between the influence of learning discipline on student achievement of 0.70%, there is a positive and significant influence between learning activity on student achievement of 0.72% and there is a positive and significant influence together -the same between learning discipline and active learning on mathematics learning achievement by 0.94%. Abstrak Matematika merupakan salah satu mata pelajaran pokok yang dipelajari mulai dari Sekolah Dasar sampai Perguruan Tinggi. Hal ini karena matematika memegang peranan penting dalam kehidupan terutama dalam memecahkan permasalahan sehari-hari. Oleh sebab itu matematika sangat penting dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan. Namun fakta menunjukkan bahwa sebagian siswa masih menganggap matematika sebagai pelajaran yang sukar. Hal ini lalu berpengaruh pada kedisiplinan dan keaktifan belajar sehingga berimbas terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kedisiplinan belajar dan keaktifan belajar siswa terhadap prestasi matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian ex-post facto. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri Fatumfaun yang berjumlah adalah 60 orang. Teknik dan instrumen pengumpulan data dalam peneletian ini menggunakan kuesioner atau angket. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelelitian ini adalah uji prasyarat berupa uji normalitas, uji linearitas, uji multikolinearitas dan uji heterokedastisitas, serta uji hipotesis menggunakan Uji T dan Uji F. Hasil dari peneletian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara pengaruh kedisiplinan belajar terhadap prestasi belajar siswa sebesar 0,70 %, terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara keaktifan belajar terhadap prestasi belajar siswa sebesar 0,72% dan terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan secara bersama-sama antara kedisiplinan belajar dan keaktifan belajar terhadap prestasi belajar matematika sebesar 0,94%.

Abstract

Computational thinking is a type of problem-solving ability using logical thinking that students do with regular steps. This cognitive ability is one of the important skills in supporting students with mathematical concepts. However, the advantages of computational thinking do not seem to be paid much attention to by education, especially in Indonesia. This is because the learning approach does not emphasize the positive aspects that can improve students' computational thinking. As a result, the average computational thinking ability of students is low. This type of research uses an experimental method of pretest-posttest control group design. The population involved was class XII students at MA Daruttauhid Malang, which consisted of 22 students in the experimental class, and 24 students in the control class. The research data is in the form of pre-test scores before being given realistic mathematics learning treatment, and post-test score data. The results obtained showed that the computational thinking ability of students in the experimental class was higher than in the control class. To be clear, this fact is measured by calculating the N-Gain scores of students in the experimental class with a value of 0.7 (high category), and the N-Gain scores of control class students with a value of 0.5 (medium category). Abstrak Berpikir komputasional adalah jenis kemampuan pemecahan masalah menggunakan logika berpikir yang dilakukan siswa dengan langkah yang teratur. Kemampuan kognitif tersebut menjadi salah satu keterampilan penting dalam mendukung siswa terhadap konsep matematika. Namun keunggulan dari pemikiran komputasional, nampaknya tidak terlalu diperhatikan oleh Pendidikan, khususnya di Indonesia. Hal ini karena pendekatan pembelajaran kurang menekankan pada aspek positif yang dapat memberikan peningkatan siswa dalam berpikir secara komputasional. Akibatnya secara rata-rata kemampuan berpikir komputasional siswa menjadi rendah. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen jenis pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi yang terlibat ialah siswa kelas XII MA Daruttauhid Malang yang terdiri atas sebanyak 22 siswa pada kelas eksperimen, dan 24 siswa kelas kontrol. Data penelitian berupa skor pretest sebelum diberikan perlakuan pembelajaran matematika realistik, dan data skor posttest. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh, menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir komputasional siswa pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Untuk lebih jelasnya, fakta ini diukur dengan menghitung skor N-Gain siswa pada kelas eksperimen dengan nilai 0,7 (kategori tinggi), dan skor N-Gain siswa kelas kontrol bernilai 0,5 (kategori sedang).

Abstract

Mathematical reasoning is a thinking activity that connects various facts, characteristics, pattern of relationships in problem solving so that logical generalizations are obtained. Not a few errors occur in the process of solving differential equation. An investigation is needed on the reasoning process in solving differential equation problems. The purpose of this research is to describe students’ mathematical reasoning errors in the differential equation material. This research is a qualitative descriptive with test instruments and interview guidelines. The research was conducted on 5 subjects, namely 6th semester students. The results showed that the most mathematical reasoning errors were indicators using relationship patterns to analyze the situation. In the reasoning process, many reasoning errors are made in planning solutions, mathematical manipulation, and making conclusions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of errors made by students when solving equations and inequalities in absolute value linear form of one variable based on Watson's criteria in class X Online Business and Marketing 1 SMK PGRI Blitar. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research with 35 students of class X Online Business and Marketing 1 SMK PGRI 3 Blitar City as subjects. The instruments used in the study were tests and interviews. The results of the study indicate that in problem number 1 it can be seen that four students make mistakes and do not give conclusions so the conclusions are lost. Then two students made incorrect procedural, errors data and there was missing data. For question number 2, it can be seen that the four subjects made mistakes, missing data, and missing conclusions. Then in question number 3, it can be seen that the four research subjects made mistakes in improper procedures, lost data, and lost conclusions. In question number 4, the four research subjects made incorrect procedural errors lost data, and lost conclusions and two of them made mistakes about the skill hierarchy problem. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa ketika menyelesaikan soal persamaan dan pertidaksamaan nilai mutlak bentuk linear satu variabel berdasarkan kriteria Watson di kelas X Bisnis Daring dan Pemasaran 1 SMK PGRI Blitar. Jenis Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek yang terdiri dari 35 siswa kelas X Bisnis Daring dan Pemasaran 1 SMK PGRI 3 Kota Blitar. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes dan wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada soal nomor 1 terlihat bahwa terdapat empat orang siswa yang melakukan kesalahan tidak memberikan kesimpulan sehingga kesimpulan hilang. Kemudian dua orang siswa melakukan kesalahan prosedur yang tidak tepat dan terdapat data hilang. Untuk soal nomor 2 terlihat bahwa keempat subjek melakukan kesalahan terdapat data hilang dan kesimpulan hilang. Kemudian pada soal nomor 3 terlihat bahwa keempat subjek penelitian melakukan kesalahan pada prosedur tidak tepat, data hilang, dan kesimpulan hilang. Pada soal nomor 4, keempat subjek penelitian melakukan kesalahan prosedur tidak tepat, data hilang, dan kesimpulan hilang dan dua orang diantaranya melakukan kesalahan tentang masalah hierarki keterampilan.
