Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, SMA Negeri 1 Cangkringan was one of the schools that implemented online learning methods. However, in practice, there are many obstacles experienced by students such as students feeling heavy and difficulty understanding the material, piling up assignments received by students, the emergence of fear in students about their academic progress, a sense of failure in achieving the expected targets, pressure to be able to learn independently, demands high concentration in paying attention to the teacher's explanation during the learning process which is often constrained by signals so that the teacher's voice is not heard by students, tired and worried about piling up assignments, pressure from parents, and students are not used to the assignment deadline. This condition makes students stressed with their academic life. Therefore, the Gotalty application was developed as a medium for educators to identify problems in online learning faced by students and assist students in maintaining a balance between psychological conditions and academic conditions during the learning process. The program implementation method is carried out by applying the PDCA method (Plan, Do, Check, and Action). The results obtained based on the program that has been carried out, namely the Gotalty application can help relieve anxiety about the problems experienced by students during online learning, and increase students' knowledge of mental health which shows that the psychoeducation process has been successfully carried out, and increases awareness of mental health. Very helpful features for program partners are motivational videos and psychology articles. This is evidenced by the results of the pretest and post-test. In addition, this program also produces outputs in the form of program implementation guidebooks, partner pocketbooks, and program implementation videos.

Abstract

This study aims to develop the student worksheet on Addictive Substances material with the Wati Plant ethnoscience approach through the Liveworksheet application that is feasible in terms of validity and practicality. This type of research is R&D research using the ADDIE model, namely: Analyze,  Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. However, this research is limited to the third stage, namely the Development stage. The research subjects were one material expert, one media expert, one practitioner, and ten students of the  Chemistry Education Department, Musamus University. The instruments used in data collection were interview guidelines and questionnaires. The results showed that the student worksheet on Addictive Substances material with the Wati Plant ethnoscience approach through the Liveworksheet application got a percentage of 94% at the 6th meeting and 97% at the 7th meeting from material experts, 95% at meetings 6 and 7 from media experts, 84% at the 6th meeting and 86% at the 7th meeting of practitioner responses and 90% at the 6th meeting and 88% at the 7th meeting of student responses. Based on the results of these studies, it can be concluded that the student worksheet on Addictive Substances material with the Wati Plant ethnoscience approach through the Liveworksheet application is feasible in terms of validity and practicality aspects

Abstract

This study was conducted to measure students' conceptual understanding of chemical bonds. The test through an online form includes a two-level test—a total of 50 students who have studied chemical bonds as research subjects. The method used is quantitative through analysis with the dichotomous Rasch model. A total of seven sub-concepts of chemical bonds have been tested on students through a two-level test, namely questions, and reasons. The questions given were declared valid and reliable according to the Rasch model. The concept that is considered the most difficult for students is the description of orbitals and molecular hybridization

Abstract

Chemistry is studied by students at the high school level. However, due to the abstract concept of chemistry, chemistry becomes difficult for some students to learn. One problem with studying chemistry is the petroleum material in online and offline learning systems. This study aimed to determine the feasibility and practicality of interactive learning media based on the 3D augmented reality of petroleum topics. This study aims to describe the making of applications with augmented reality technology as a medium for learning chemistry. The research type was development research that adopted a 4D model (define, design, develop, disseminate) but was limited to the development stage. The population in this study was 192 students of public high school SMAN 7 Mataram, Indonesia. This study's sampling was carried out using a random sampling technique measured through an expert validation sheet with three assessment aspects assessed by three validators. The practicality level of the media was measured through a practicality questionnaire filled out by 22 students in eleventh-grade students at SMAN 7 Mataram. The results showed that the validator assessed media feasibility was 90.16%, which indicated that the media developed was very feasible. Meanwhile, the media practicality test results revealed that students responded positively to all media components with a practicality percentage of 94.39%. In conclusion, the media developed is feasible and practical to use.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct a preliminary study in developing project-based learning practicum instructions in Inorganic Chemistry courses. This study uses a survey method, where data is obtained by conducting a survey through the Google form platform. Participants in this study were 41 students who took inorganic chemistry courses at the chemistry education study program at Sriwijaya University. The results of this study indicate that it is necessary to develop project-based learning practicum instructions for inorganic chemistry, as teaching materials in inorganic chemistry courses that apply project-based learning models in the current new normal era. The characteristics of students show that students feel happy, more motivated and feel more creative when participating in project-based learning.

Abstract

Science subjects, or specifically biology, contain many concepts and terminologies that require extensive effort in memorizing. As a result, students are employing their own learning styles to learn things in the best possible way. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the possible relationship between the students’ retention level in biology and learning styles in the course. A descriptive-correlational research design was utilized to determine the relationship between the retention level and learning styles of Grade 10 students in biology. A retention test was conducted that seeks to evaluate the retention level of the respondents in their biology subjects. Respondents were asked to select the best way on how they are learning biology effectively, as part of the retention test. Each of the ways indicated corresponds to a specific learning style category following the Visual, Auditory, Read, and Kinesthetic (VARK) Learning styles Model. Findings revealed that the majority of the respondents were Visual Learners comprised of 51.61% of the population and a portion of 38.71% of the respondents have an Outstanding Level of Retention in basic biology concepts and terminologies. In addition, the overall retention level category of the population is with Satisfactory Level of Retention, which was based on their mean percentage score. Furthermore, it has been proven that there is none to very weak relationship between the retention level and learning styles of the respondents where it gained a correlation level of 0.151, on which correlation is significant at 0.01 level, which strength of the linear relationship is categorized under none to the extremely weak relationship. It has been concluded that many factors, aside from learning styles, may affect the students’ retention of learning biology.

Abstract

Blended learning is one of the learning models used after the COVID-19 pandemic at Nahdlatul Ulama Al Ghazali University. Blended learning integrates technology that combines or mixes face-to-face and computer-based (online) learning. During the stages of the learning process, the lecturer prepares teaching materials in the form of PowerPoints or videos that can be accessed through learning media including EdLink, Zoom Meeting, Google Meet, and other electronic media. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of blended learning on learning achievement. The research method used is a quantitative method because the research data is in the form of numbers and analysis using statistics. The analysis used is a linear regression analysis with a population of mechanical engineering students. The number of samples used amounted to 34 students. Data collection techniques in the form of tests and questionnaires with a Likert scale from the results of the normality and linearity tests, it shows a sig value of 0.200 and 0.177, which states that the data is normally distributed and linear. Based on the linear regression test, it was determined that the t count was 3.296 > ttable 2.037 with a regression coefficient value of 0.331. It can be concluded that there is an influence between the x variable (blended learning) and the y variable (learning achievement).

Abstract

The COVID-19 Pandemic has been one of the most significant disruptions in education in the Philippines. The shift to remote distance teaching meant a rapid change to alternate modes of teaching and learning. The pandemic had a silver lining as it opened doors to new ideas and technologies that could be leveraged to enhance education. Distance learning with self-learning modules is not enough to reach and teach students at Der-An Integrated School, Diffun, Quirino. As a result, different strategies and integration of technologies are being implemented to ensure that learning never stops amidst the pandemic. Thus, this study aimed to determine the academic performance of Grade 10 students in Science. A group Pretest Post-test Research design was utilized to determine the academic performance of Science among Grade 10 students as being affected by Project EDIT (Effective Delivery of Lessons by Integrating Technologies). The technologies being implemented include laptops, mobile phones, and Two-way radios. Prior to the implementation of this project, a pretest was conducted to determine the initial academic performance of the respondents just by the use of purely self-learning modules. Two weeks after the implementation of this project, a post-test was administered to test their academic performance. Employing this design on a group of 22 Grade 10- Emerald Students, the following were found: there is a significant difference in the mean scores of the respondents on their pretest and post-test, and the project EDIT had a large effect. Through the aforementioned results, it was concluded that Project EDIT is an effective tool for class discussion to improve the academic performance of students amidst the pandemic.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the teacher's ability to write new prose short stories on making higher-order thinking Skills HOTS through in-house Training (IHT). This type of research is School Action Research (PTS) with a qualitative descriptive method conducted for two cycles. The sample in this study was 6 teachers at SD Negeri Banjarsari Samigaluh, Kulon Progo Regency. Data collection techniques in this study through observation and documentation. The results of the study showed an increase in the teacher's ability to write new prose, where in cycle I at the first meeting an average score of 68.33 was obtained; and in cycle II at the second meeting, an average value of 92.22 was obtained. In writing HOTS questions by including new prose for cycle I at the first meeting an average value of 81.11 was obtained, while in cycle II for the second meeting, an average value was obtained of 86.22. In the implementation of IHT participants conducted an assessment of the resource person, where in the first cycle for the first meeting an average value of 78 was obtained in the "satisfactory" category, while in the second cycle for the second meeting, an average value was obtained of 90.10 in the "very satisfying" category.

Abstract

This study aimed to produce gravimetric analysis teaching materials and determine the validity test of gravimetric analysis teaching materials. The development of teaching materials is carried out using the ADDIE development model (Analysis-Design-Development-Implementation-Evaluation). The results of the development of teaching materials are in the form of applications with the APK extension that can be run on Android smartphones. The teaching material validation test obtained the percentage of assessment which included aspects of the content of teaching materials by 84.3% (very feasible), media aspects by 83.9% (very feasible), construct aspects of teaching materials by 81.7% (very feasible), aspects the language used is 79.2% (decent), and the aspect of conformity with the PjBL is 80.9% (very decent). Of the five aspects of the gravimetric analysis validation test assessment, the teaching materials developed were very feasible, with a total percentage of 82.87%. While the readability test got a percentage of 87.3%, so it was categorized as very feasible to use
