Abstract

The problem in this study is the lack of activeness and motivation of students of SMP Negeri 6 Pekanbaru in the learning activities of volleyball games, especially in learning service below, so that learning activities do not run optimally. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of motivation with the ability to serve under the volleyball game of SMP Negeri 6 Pekanbaru students. This study is correlational that connects the independent variable, motivation (X) with the dependent variable, namely the ability to serve under the game of volleyball (Y). The population in this study were all students of SMP Negeri 6 Pekanbaru, totaling 335 people. The sampling technique in this study is Purposive Sampling, so that the students sampled in this study amounted to 54 people. Data collection for motivation is done by distributing questionnaires and service capabilities under Russel-Lange. The data obtained were analyzed using thecorrelation formula product moment with α = 0.05. Hypothesis test results show there is a relationship between motivation and the ability to service down in the game of volleyball (rxy = 0.345> rtable 0.281) and (tarithmetic = 2.520> ttable = 2.012). This means that the higher motivation possessed by SMP Negeri 6 Pekanbaru students, the tendency of lower service ability in volleyball games is also increasing. In another sense, the hypothesis is accepted (significant)

Abstract

This research was conducted by using a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The quantitative approach was chosen to be tested theories by examining and measuring variables in the form of relationships, differences, influences, contributions, and the others. The research was carried out by describing the students acquisition data on the new student admission (PPDB) using zoning system based on the academic year 2019-2020 and the student acquisition data on the academic year PPDB 2018-2019 as a comparison. Based on the results of the study, the new students of PPDB using zoning system was considered lower in terms of economic and educational background of parents. There were more parents with less education (elementary & junior high school) in the zoning system than in the rayon system, whereas parents with higher education in the zoning system were fewer than the rayon system.  Likewise, in terms of income, there were more people with the low income in the zoning system than in the rayon system, and those having high income were fewer than in the rayon system. The study showed that the intelligence and the result of National Examination Score (NUN) in the zoning system is lower than in the rayon system. The intelligent level of the students in the zoning system is mostly dominated by the scores under 90-109, while in the rayon system were dominated by the scores above 90-109.  The National Examination Scores (NUN) in the zoning system were evenly distributed from a range of scores 0 to 30, while in the rayon system the scores were dominated by a range of scores 28-30, with the lowest score 24.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low narrative essay writing skills of fifth class students in 161 Public Elementary Schools in Pekanbaru. That is because in Indonesian languange learning, the teacher has feel difficult to finding the right learning method or technique in delivering narrative essay writing material. Based on the above problems, the problem statement is obtained “ whether there are narrative essay writting skills of control class students and experimenttal classes  in narrative essay writing skills of control class students and experimental classes with learning using in class. This research used method of quasy-eksperimental non equivalent control group design. This research carried in two fifth classes of 161 public elementary schools in pekanbaru, namely fifth A class as control and fifth B class as experimental class, with each class has 30 sudents. Based on the posttest results, it was found that the average narrative essay writing skills for students with outline techniques (experimental framework) were higher than the average narrative essay writing skills for students who did not use the outline technique or using conventional learning. After taking action on two classes, the average posttest of the experimental class has a gain average of 0,45 for the moderate category, which means there is an increase above the average and the control class has the average gain is 0,12 or the low category, which means an increase below the average. This proves that the outline technique (essay framework) can further improve students' narrative essay writing skills compared to without outline techniques (essay framework) in fifth grade students in 161 Pekanbaru Public Elementary School.
