Abstract

The advanced of information technology has facilitated society to interact each other without border of the time and space. It transforms into platform known as social media. The social media becomes a potential platform to assimilate the western culture into the local culture. It threats the local identity. The program aims to maintain the local culture of Bangka Belitung Islands Province by utilizing the social media. Thus, the training on utilizing the social media in maintaining the local culture of the province into the active users among the students in SMA N 1 Sungai Selan, SMA N 1 Air Gegas, and SMA N 1 Kelapa was used as the method of the community service. The program found that the participants showed their enthusiastic in maintaining their culture by using social media. 70 percent of the participants had utilized the social media in maintaining the local culture by uploading text, picture, and video on their social media account.

Abstract

Mathematics is frequently thought as a hard course by students because of some reasons. One of the reasons is that students cannot visualize the material given by their teacher. On the other hand, only a few numbers of teachers who can explain the course using appropriate figures. Moreover, during a presentation or making a quiz, they cannot present those things very well which confused the students further. Facing this challenge, therefore, we organized a training to enhance the Mathematics teachers’ competency in Balikpapan City so they could attract students’ attention and improve comprehension by giving the right visualization. In this training, we used GeoGebra, which is an open-source program and user-friendly. For the result, this training performed that the participants then could graph some functions, construct a 3-D space, and make a presentation using GeoGebra.

Abstract

Each educational institution records important data for each student for both school and outside school needs. Important student data is recorded in a book called Student's Main Book. Some schools use computers as a substitute for student books, namely using Microsoft Excel. However the use of Ms. Excel sometimes causes problems, such as what happened at MA Putri Taruna Al-Quran, often experiencing failure to input data to the central server in the form of excel or csv to fill in the national exam data, data loss and damage often occurs, then on the computer there are many duplicate files so that difficulty recognizing which file contains the main data. To overcome these problems, a website-based information system was built. This information system will be equipped with features that can present reports according to the desired column and can also be exported to several extensions. Making this system will be done by several methods such as the method of observation, interviews and literature reviews so as to produce an application called Student Master Book.

Abstract

As part of the city of Pontianak, Sungai Jawi Village is a settlement that grows along the river flowing into the Kapuas River. The potential as a growth path in the past has caused the settlement of Sungai Jawi Village to develop quite rapidly. Physical and socio-economic problems in the Sungai Jawi Settlement Area are commonly found as urban villages. Participation in the community's contribution is actively involved in problem-solving discussions and identification of potentials in obtaining the formulation of the spatial concept of creative entrepreneurship in Sungai Jawi Village. The formulation of this spatial concept is used in the design to accommodate the economic activities of the local population. The program's sustainability in creative entrepreneurship by empowering local communities is essential through collaboration in improvement and assistance with related parties, including the Pontianak city government and the private sector. In implementing the design of the spatial concept of creative entrepreneurship, Sungai Jawi Village is expected to become a river tourism destination by offering the community's potential in creative entrepreneurship. This action can inspire people in these settlements and other areas located by the river to start a similar settlement concept. This program has produced several planning documents by turning the Jawi River into a binding element for tourism areas to foster creative entrepreneurship.

Abstract

Beragam solusi pembelajaran online diterapkan oleh berbagai sekolah di beberapa daerah dengan memperhatikan berbagaipertimbangan. Solusi tersebut diantaranya mencakup kemudahan akses, kecilnya kuota yang dihabiskan, kemudahan dalam penggunaan terutama bagi pengguna yang tidak terlalu mengenal teknologi. Universitas Darwan Ali bekerja sama dengan Dinas Pendidikan Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah dalam menyambut dan memberikan solusi permasalahan tersebut. Universitas Darwan Ali menyelenggarakan pelatihan membuat kelas virtual menggunakan platform Discord karena dianggap mampu memenuhi beberapa pertimbangan tersebut diatas. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan beberapa tahap yaitu :1. Perencanaan, 2. Pelaksanaan dan 3. Evaluasi.Pelatihan ini juga dilaksanakan secara online langsung menggunakan aplikasi Discord. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah penerapan aplikasi Discord di semua sekolah di Kabupaten Kotawaringin Timur. Namun, pelaksanaan untuk jenjang Sekolah Dasar masih belum bisa sepenuhnya baik karena anak-anak masih perlu pendampingan orang tua khususnya kelas 1, 2 dan 3 Sekolah Dasar. Hasil yang cukup baik ditunjukkan pada jenjang Sekolah Menengah Atas karena Discord dianggap mempunyai user interface yang sangat menarik dan sesuai dengan karakter dan kegemaran remaja.

Abstract

To prevent this transmission, it can be done by increase the body's immune system. The problem that occurs in the community is the lack of understanding of parents regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. This socialization was named Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) by Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of State University of Medan which was held at the Mekar Sari Posyandu. The aim of this socialization is to provide counseling and understanding to the community about the importance of maintaining and improving children's immunity in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. The method of this socialization consists of preparation, implementation, and evaluation, solving. This socialization is carried out with a participatory educative approach by carrying out socialization of Covid-19 prevention

Abstract

In the village of Banglas, Meranti Islands, there are poultry farmers, namely broiler chickens, who supply the chickens to markets in the Meranti Islands area. However, the problem faced by farmers is that the number of chicken seeds with chickens ready to sell is far lower than the number of initial seeds. Based on the importance of this, counseling on the maintenance of low-cholesterol broiler chickens by providing supplements in Banglas Village, Meranti Islands Regency. In this outreach activity, the instructor provides information on the importance of giving probiotics to farm chickens so that the risk of dead seeds before being sold can decrease the number, then the extension worker provides supplements and provides supplements to farmers. After giving supplements and being monitored for three months, it was found a decrease in the mortality rate of the broiler chickens.

Abstract

Trigona bee cultivation will produce honey that is beneficial for health and can be a source of community income. This activity is very suitable to be applied in rural areas that have a green environment with various types of plants. This community service activity is intended to introduce the community in Arga Indah Satu Village to trigona bee cultivation. By introducing this trigona bee cultivation, it is hoped that it can produce pure honey and improve the quality of the environment by planting various kinds of bee food plants. In this service activity, the methods used are problem observation, preparation of tools and materials, counseling, and demonstration of bee-feeding plants. After the completion of this service, it is hoped that the community will have good knowledge about trigona bee cultivation and be able to apply their knowledge in their respective yards. The results of this community service are increasing the knowledge of the village community about trigona bee cultivation, and improving the quality of the environment through planting with various types of bee feed plants. The results of trigona bee cultivation can be a new source of income

Abstract

During a pandemic, MSMEs actors must be more innovative and creative in packaging and marketing their products in order to be able to survive and develop. In this service, the writer uses the method of observation and interviews with partners, namely MSMEs, Pak Robin, and then finds the problems faced by Mr. Robin, namely the packaging of products that are less creative and innovative and marketing of products that are still conventional. interesting and innovative and will share and educate how to market through Instagram social media. The purpose of this activity is to help and educate Mr. Robin's UMKM so that they can survive and thrive during the pandemic.

Abstract

The purpose of this community outreach program is to introduce and educate the MSMEs community that they can access various funding sources to support their business, such as banks, cooperatives, Village Credit Institution (LPD), Village-owned Enterprises (BUMDes), and Financial Technology. These funding sources can be accessed to help MSMEs develop their businesses both in terms of quantity and quality. This program, was carried out in three different places, namely Tabanan Regency, Denpasar and Jembrana Regency. The community outreach program begins with observations and interviews with MSMEs actors and provides several questions related to capital and capital institutions related to MSMEs. The next stage is the online education stage between MSME actors as online participants and community service participants as material providers. The last stage is a survey again with questions given at the beginning to find out whether the education stage provides more understanding to MSMEs actors or not. The results of this study are that MSMEs actors are more educated and understand that there are several alternatives that can be chosen to help with their capital. MSMEs actors just need to be more careful and selective so they can get a safe source of funding.
