Abstract

Socialization and training of the use of learning media based on learning management system (LMS) with moodle for junior high school teachers at Methodist 8 Medan aims to improve teachers' knowledge and skills in integrating Information Technology and Communication (ICT) into interactive, interesting and fun online learning. Moodle is a software application produced for dynamic learning activities based on technology, internet and websites. The methods that used for implementing this Community Partnership Program are socialization and training which begin with preliminary observations, analysis of learning problems and the needs of teachers and students. The next stage is the preparation of activities both from the partners and the team. The third and fourth stages are socialization and training on the use of learning media based on LMS by using the Moodle features. The result of this partnership program is that teaching materials such as power point presentation, learning videos, assignments and quizzes/student worksheets have been created and uploaded by utilizing the features in Moodle.

Abstract

Bakteri Ideonella sakaiensis dan microalga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii dapat mendegradasi plastik PET (Poly-ethylene terephthalate) dengan mensintesiskan enzim PETase. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas dari bakteri Ideonella sakaiensis dan Chlamydomonas reinhardtii sebagai agen biodegradasi plastik berbahan dasar PET. Penelitian ini merupakan systematic review, yang dilakukan dengan membandingkan dan menganalisis artikel-artikel yang diambil dari database digital seperti Springer Link dan Semanthic Schoolar. Artikel–artikel yang telah dicari dengan keyword yang telah ditentukan, kemudian dieksklusi sesuai dengan parameter yang ditetapkan, sehingga didapat 2 artikel rujukan. Hasil review menunjukkan bakteri I. sakaiensis mampu mendegradasi PET menjadi  MHET (Monoterephtalic Hydroxyethyl Terephtalate) yang lebih dominan dibanding BHET (Bis-hydroxyethyl Terephtalate) & TPA (Terephthalate Acid), sedangkan C. reinhardtii mendegradasikan PET menjadi TPA. Bakteri I. sakaiensis memerlukan waktu 18 jam untuk dapat mendegradasi 30 % dari PET film sedangkan C.reinhardtii memerlukan waktu 4 minggu untuk dapat mendegradasi 35,17% dari PET powder. Kedua mikroorganisme tersebut memiliki keefektifan yang berbeda dalam setiap parameter, yaitu hasil degradasi dan lama waktu pendegradasian.

Abstract

To prevent this transmission, it can be done by increase the body's immune system. The problem that occurs in the community is the lack of understanding of parents regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. This socialization was named Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) by Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of State University of Medan which was held at the Mekar Sari Posyandu. The aim of this socialization is to provide counseling and understanding to the community about the importance of maintaining and improving children's immunity in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. The method of this socialization consists of preparation, implementation, and evaluation, solving. This socialization is carried out with a participatory educative approach by carrying out socialization of Covid-19 prevention

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen pengukuran kemampuan berpikir kreatif untuk pembelajaran berbasis proyek pada mata kuliah media pembelajaran yang valid dan reliabel. Penelitian ini merupakan pengembangan Research and Development (R&D) yang mengacu pada pada model ADDIE dengan tahapan Analisis (Analysis), Desain (Design), Pengembangan (Development), Implementasi (Implementation), dan Evaluasi (Evaluation). Data penelitian ini diperoleh dengan mengujicobakan instrumen berupa tes uraian sebanyak 10 soal. Data validasi isi dihitung dengan I-CVI dinyatakan 10 soal valid. Reliabilitas instrumen 0,883 dengan kategori sangat tinggi. Tingkat kesukaran soal dengan kategori sukar berjumlah 2 soal, kategori sedang berjumlah 6 soal, dan kategori mudah berjumlah 2 soal. Daya pembeda pada instrumen tes ini , 4 soal dengan kategori jelek, 5 soal dengan kategori cukup, 1 soal dengan kategori baik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa instrumen tes yang telah dikembangkan sudah memenuhi kategori yang berkualitas, sehingga instrumen tes ini dapat digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa.

Abstract

Keterampilan abad ke-21 adalah kompetensi yang penting untuk sukses di dunia modern. Kemampuan rata-rata literasi sains peserta didik di Indonesia berdasarkan hasil studi PISA dari tahun 2000 memperoleh sekor 383 menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik di Indonesia menduduki peringkat ke 66 dari 80 negara, sedangkan literasi digital Indonesia yang mendapatkan nilai sedang yaitu berada di angka 3,47. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat pengaruh model Argument Driven Enquiry (ADI) berbantuan vitural laboratory untuk meningkatkan literasi sains dan literasi digital mahasiswa Prodi IPA Universitas Negeri Medan. Jenis Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi-eksperimen, Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas yang mengambil matakuliah Dasar-dasar IPA dan laboratorium pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik simple random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan two group pretest-posttest design. Instrumen penelitian untuk literasi sains 30 soal pilihan ganda mengunakan frameworl PISA 2018, literasi digital berupa angket berjumlah 298 pertanyaan menggunakan A Global Framework of Reference on Digital Literacy Skills” (UNESCO, 2018). Hasil uji multivariate menunjukkan bahwa nilai signifikansi 0,000 0,05 artinya H0 ditolak sehingga dapat disimpulkan bawah pengaruh signifikan penerapan model pembelajaran ADI berbantuan virtual laboratory terhadap literasi sains dan literasi digital mahasiswa Prodi IPA Universitas Negeri Medan yang mengambil matakuliah Dasar-dasar IPA dan laboratorium tahun ajaran 2023-2024. Efektifitas ADI berbantuan virtual laboratory memperoleh nilai N-gain 0,81 dengan kategori tinggi, sedangkan kelas yang kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Direct Intruction memperoleh nilai N-gain 0,52 dengan kategori sedang

Abstract

Communication skills are one of the essential abilities that teachers must possess to support their professional needs. Through good communication skills, teachers are able to convey teaching materials and various learning messages to students effectively. This research aims to determine the level of communication skills of prospective biology teacher students through microteaching. The type of this research is descriptive research. Data were collected from the entire population of fifth-semester students in the biology education program at FMIPA UNIMED in the Microteaching course. Communication skills consist of several aspects, including calmness, clarity of voice, clarity of material, and response to the audience. Based on the research results, it was found that in the aspect of calmness, a score of 72 was obtained, classified as competent; in the aspect of voice clarity, a score of 75 was obtained, classified as competent; in the aspect of material clarity, a score of 81 was obtained, classified as competent; and in the aspect of audience response, a score of 78 was obtained, classified as competent. Thus, overall, the communication skills received a score of 76, classified as competent. Abstrak. Keterampilan Komunikasi merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang wajib dimiliki guru guna menunjang kebutuhan profesionalismenya. Melalui kemampuan berkomunikasi yang baik guru mampu menyampaikan materi ajar dan berbagai pesan pembelajaran secara maksimal kepada siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat keterampilan berkomunikasi mahasiswa calon guru biologi melalui pembelajaran mikroteahing. Tipe penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan dengan populasi seluruh mahasiswa semester 5 program studi pendidikan biologi FMIPA UNIMED pada mata kuliah Mikroteaching. Kemampuan berkomunikasi terdiri dari beberapa aspek diantaranya ketenangan, kejelasan suara, kejelasan materi dan respon terhadap audiens. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa pada aspek ketenangan diperoleh nilai 72 yang diklasifikasikan sebagai cakap, pada aspek kejelasan suara diperoleh nilai 75 yang diklasifikasikan sebagai cakap, pada aspek kejelasan materi  diperoleh nilai 81 yang diklasifikasikan sebagai cakap, dan pada aspek respon terhadap audiens diperoleh nilai 78 yang diklasifikasikan sebagai cakap. Sehingga secara keseluruhan kemampuan berkomunikasi memperoleh nilai 76 yang diklasifikasikan sebagai cakap.

However, the existing teaching materials still have shortcomings, meaning they do not fully support the learning process in learning media courses. These weaknesses can be in the form of learning information presented that is not detailed, both in terms of material and visualization, or that some teaching materials are presented in a foreign language and are difficult to understand. Seeing these problems, the aim of this research is to analyze the needs for CASE-based teaching materials (Creative, Active, Systematic and Effective) in improving students' problemsolving and creative abilities in learning media courses. CASE (Creative, Active, Systematic and Effective) is intended to help students creatively, actively, systematically and effectively, resulting in successful achievement of learning objectives. In this situation, creativity refers to the ability to develop unique teaching materials that can motivate students to learn. The definition of creative thinking is the ability to create new correlations between various aspects, analyze them, and use conclusions to solve problems in certain learning. The subjects of this research are students of the Biology Education study program, Department of Biology, Medan State University class of 2020. The sample was randomly selected as many as 30 students. This research is a qualitative descriptive research oriented towards the development of a product. Data collection was carried out using interview sheets, observation sheets and questionnaires.

Abstract

This study was designed to determine the effect of guided inquiry model integrated with differentiated learning on students' critical thinking skills on respiratory system material in class VII junior high school. The background of this research is based on the low critical thinking skills of students in Indonesia, as well as the need for a learning approach that is able to respond to the diversity of learning styles, interests, and readiness of students in the classroom. The guided inquiry with differentiated learning model, employs a method of instruction that encourages students to solve problems through the application of analytical and critical thinking skills. The present study employs a quasi-experimental design, specifically pretest-postest control group design. The present study utilizes a critical thinking ability test instrument according to Ennis, comprising 10 essay questions. Hypothesis testing was carried out with a significance level of 0.05 with the help of SPSS version 26. The research results demonstrated a significant influence of the guided inquiry learning mode with differentiated learning on students' critical thinking abilities, as measured by the Mann-Whitney U test with Asymp scores. Sig (2-tailed) 0.000, indicating a significance value <0.05. In conclusion, guided inquiry with differentiated learning is effective to enhance students' critical thinking skills and can be an alternative adaptive and responsive science learning strategy in the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using microteaching books based on case method and team based project on basic teaching and communication skills. The type of research is development to produce a product and test the effectiveness of that product. The population is all 5th semester students of the biology education study program, FMIPA Unimed who take the microteaching course, the test sample is 30 students. The research design uses the Plomp development model, namely Analysis, Development, and Evaluation. Data collection is carried out at the analysis stage, then the development stage includes the distribution of assessment sheets to experts and response sheets to lecturers and students in the microteaching course. Meanwhile, the evaluation stage is carried out using observation sheets to assess basic teaching skills and communication skills. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and then categorized following the guidelines for categorizing needs, assessments, responses and communication skills. The results obtained indicate that the microteaching book is declared valid, has a fairly good level of practicality, and is effective in improving basic teaching skills and communication skills

Abstract

Program Green School yang diterapkan Tim PKM melalui PKBM Laskar Pelangi bertujuan untuk memberdayakan anak-anak putus sekolah melalui pendidikan lingkungan hidup dan pelatihan keterampilan berbasis pertanian berkelanjutan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif dan berbasis pemberdayaan masyarakat, melalui tahapan persiapan, edukasi, pelatihan dan evaluasi. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui perbandingan nilai pretes dan postes untuk mengukur peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam hal pertanian berkelanjutan dan produk POC siap pakai. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta, dari 37% menjadi 86%. Metode pembelajaran yang fleksibel, kontekstual, dan berbasis praktik terbukti efektif meningkatkan keterlibatan, kepercayaan diri, dan kesadaran ekologis peserta. Program ini tidak hanya memperkuat aspek ekonomi melalui pelatihan keterampilan, tetapi juga mendorong keadilan sosial dengan memberikan akses pendidikan nonformal yang inklusif, mendukung kelestarian lingkungan serta sustainable development.
