This research aimed to analyse students’ error in solving algebra problem. With the research questions are: 1) Among four types of algebraic problem, in which problem students make error the most? 2) How is students’ error characteristics based on the type of algebraic problem? And 3) What type of error students make the most when solving algebraic problem? The subject of this research is 24 students from grade VIII A MTs Ma’arif Assa’adah 2 Sampurnan-Bungah-Gresik. Students were asked to solve algebra problems which consist of four problems. Each problem represents each type of algebra problem. Students’ work then analysed using Newman’s error analysis which classified error into five types; reading, comprehension, transformation, processing skill, and encoding. In this research the ‘reading’ category was left out. The result shows that among four types of algebra problem, students made error the most when solving the problem of algebra as the use of mathematical models to represent and understand quantitative relation. On the problem of algebra as representation and analysis of mathematical situation and structure using algebraic symbol, the most common error located in transformation. This error was also dominant in the problem of algebra as understanding pattern, relation, and function. As for algebra problems as the use of mathematical models to represent and understand quantitative relation, the dominant error located in comprehension. Having said that, transformation and comprehension is the type of error that happened the most.

Let G be nontrivial and connected graph. A total-coloured path is called as total-rainbow if its edges and internal vertices have distinct colours. For any two vertices u and v of G, a rainbow u−v geodesic in G is a rainbow u−v path of length d(u,v), where d(u,v) is the distance between u and v. The graph G is strongly rainbow connected if there exists a rainbow u−v geodesic for any two vertices u and v in G. The strong rainbow connection number of G, denoted src(G), is the minimum number of colors that are needed in order to make G strong rainbow connected. The result shows for 1 Spl - (Cn) and 3 ≥ n ≥ 10 there exist a coloring where diam(G) = rc(G) = src(G) ≤ m and diam(G) ≤ rc(G) ≤ src(G) ≤ m with m is the number of path 1 Spl - (Cn).

The results of the PISA survey in 2015 show that Indonesian students' learning outcomes are low, ranked 63 out of 69 countries evaluated. Indonesian students are still difficulty in answering questions that require reason. In 2017 revised curriculum 2013, developed math problems based hots. Problem based hots require the ability to think high level and enter theprocess of reasoning. In National Examination 2018 there is about 10% of the problem based hots, the results obtained 40% of students difficulty about that. This research aimed to analize of student error in solving math problems based hots by Newman theory. This research is qualitative descriptive. The subjects of research were VIII-G grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Gresik. Data collection techniques using tests. An analysis framework wasdeveloped basedon Newman’s error categories. The results of research were obtained 4 types of errors with percentage were comprehension errors65%, transformation errors 30%, processing errors 10%. The results showed that comprehension errors is the more dominant errors than the other. In general, the factors causing the error is reasoning ability and skills of students who are low in the problems solving on real context and manipulating it into algebraic form

Abstract. Explicit finite difference method is used to approximate a partial differential equation that is applied to determine the option pricing. The results of this study note that the calculation of option pricing using explicit finite difference method is negative when partition N ≥ 25 with a value of -2.21. Thus, the results of the calculation of option pricing are not convergent and away from the results of analyzing the option pricirng (Black-Scholes) solution. This is because one of the three probabilities Bj = 1- σ2j2Δt is negative, namely (-0.12) when j ≥ 12 with S ≥ 16.25 (in units). So this explicit finite difference method cannot be used to determine the option pricing. Keywords: Option Pricing, Explicit Finite Difference Method Abstrak.
