Abstract

At crossroads there is often a queue of vehicles that are not evenly distributed in each branch, but the length of the green light remains (not adaptive). So prototype was made to regulate the green light based on the number of vehicles with the help of the Fuzzy Logic Algorithm. Beginning with the next fuzzification stage with the help of the rule base to the defuzzification stage which produces a long green light. The results of the study, Fuzzy Logic algorithm can set the length of green light for each branch based on the number of vehicles. If a branch has more vehicles than other branches, the length of time for the green light on the branch is longer than the other branches. The percentage of error testing with theoretical calculations is 0.05% and the percentage of success is 99.95%.

Abstract

Cracks that occur in the structure will be very dangerous if left alone. Cracks can propagate and will eventually cause the structure to fail. Cracks that occur will cause singularity at the end of the crack, and the stress level is very high or reaches without limit (infinity). Stress intensity factor (SIF) is used to determine behavior of structures with crack. One of method that can predict SIF is displacement extrapolation method. Displacement extrapolation methods predict SIF by nodal displacement near end of crack. This research is to predict SIF of a thin plate with a single edge crack of 1.27 mm. The crack mode used in this research is mode I (opening mode) with a tension stress of 60 MPa. Nodal displacement for calculating SIF is taken from result of analyzing the cracked model using Patran / nastran. SIF prediction result from displacement extrapolation then to be compared with the results of analytical calculation.

Abstract

Astra Manufacturing Polytechnic is educational institution under the auspices of PT Astra International (Astra Group) which has total of approximately 700 students. Industrial culture is adopted by applying discipline in the form of attendance. Students who do not arrive on time will be charged Minus Hours. Students do attendance with attendance cards and recapitulated by each study program admin and takes 700 minutes (all study programs) every week to produce minus hours as calculation of student errors. Many students are cheating in the attendance process. Because attendance cards can be deposited to other students. To overcome this, the attendance method was replaced by initially using machine and attendance card with finger scanner and integrated finger scanner integrase application with sql server database. So hopefully cheating and recapitulation time can be eliminated. In the implementation of this research extreme programming is used as software development methodology. After implementation of the application is able to eliminate 700 minutes and eliminate the use of attendance cards.

Abstract

External corrosion on mature oil and gas field installation very challenging issues. External corrosion of pipeline riser on tidal zone is the most case for pipeline corrosion [2]. API 5L X52 is familiar pipeline for offshore oil and gas production facilities. Pipeline riser external corrosion on tidal zone have some consequences, time constrain related tidal cycle, production loss, oil spill impact to company reputation, costly maintenance. This research intended to find out effect of tidal cycle and salt water salinity to the rate and type of corrosion on API 5l X52 pipeline riser. Tidal cycle is modeling by wet and dry coupon on salt water. Corrosion rate measure by weight loss coupon. Corrosion product examine by XRD. Chloride contents and oxygen dissolve combination resulting maximum corrosion rate. Oxygen dissolve is main factor to corrosion on salt water. Maximum oxygen dissolve on salt water concentration 3.5% wt. On high salinity salt water corrosion rate depend oxygen dissolve [2]. Tidal cycle has impact to corrosion rate. General corrosion type happen on all coupon with corrosion product component Fe2O3, Fe3O4 examined by XRD.

Abstract

Product quality is an important factor that underlies the consumer's decision to choose the desired product and service. Quality can initially be determined by the company, but in subsequent developments, quality planning must pay attention to the wants and needs of consumers. In providing excellent service to customers, the company needs to apply the concept of lean thinking, intending to reduce waste. A methodology is needed that can reduce product variations and production process errors with the Six Sigma methodology. The second application is often called Lean Six Sigma. This paper aims to improve the quality of fluid carrier tank products. The number of defective products, mainly on welding, cutting and bending process, so rework is needed that causes companies to suffer losses. The company expects to reduce product defects by less than 5%. The welding, cutting and bending process are the highest contributor to defective products, so that process improvement is limited to these processes. The process of welding, cutting and bending process is considered a major problem, so the main concern for quality improvement is for the main problem. Sigma, the initial welding, cutting and bending process in a sequence is quite good. The target to be achieved is to increase the sigma value of both processes. The alternative is chosen, namely creating and supervising SOPs, and training to improve the skills, knowledge, and abilities of each employee. These alternatives can increase the sigma value from the initial conditions from 2.93 to 3.20. The increase in sigma value indicates a decrease in the level of defects per million opportunities (DPMO).
