Abstract

Aluminum alloy is non-Ferro material that very difficult to amalgamate using fusion welding, so it requires friction method. Friction welding is process for connecting metals without melting (solid state process), Process merging between the rotating speeds of material forces cause heat friction and at somepoint can be able to melt the materials and melting process occurs. The study aim is to determine tensile strength results from friction weld joints due to changes in ambient temperature of room. Material test is Aluminum A6061. Friction welding uses a lathe with rotation speed of 1600 rpm. The length size of material is 80 mm and 120 mm, diameter 15 mm, Champer angle 15°, 65 bar friction force for 60 seconds, final compressive force 375 bar for 60 seconds and variations in ambient temperature namely room temperature (T0),125 °C,150°C. The A 6061 joint produces the highest tensile strength at temperature 150 oC (188 MPa).

Abstract

Laundry is business engaged in services that are now commonly found. The high demand for laundry services makes laundry owners in Sungai Bambu, North Jakarta look for ways to keep transaction records neatly organized and not lose records or damage that is often experienced by customers or owners. In addition, employees must calculate the total price of the weight of the items to be washed, so that it takes a long time. Laundry also provides a variety of laundry services that can be added at any time. Besides making manual reports. To overcome this, laundry service information system is designed using the waterfall method built with Visual Studio as an interface and SQL Server as data storage. Design of this information system will make it easy to collect transaction data and minimize data loss or damage, generate automatic reports, and can perform special laundry services.

Abstract

The burn marks on the Pias Card are located on a scale of 6 -18 data is the sunshine duration. Determination of Region of Interest (RoI) is done with the aim of reducing noise in the Pias Card image segmentation process. solar irradiation system developed to determine areas that are considered important according to scale using the Cropping method. The system testing was carried out using 107 data of Pias Cards. Type Pias Card is SO-40F. Cropping principle is still manual, namely by setting the height of the image (Heigth), the left border (Left), and the right border (Right) in pixels. Based on testing, the best value settings are Heigth (H) = 5, Left (L) = 125, and Right (R) = 250 with a percentage of cropping success is 91.67%.

Abstract

The conducted research studied a feature extraction method in a musical instrument tone recognition system. The purpose of this study was to obtain a number of feature extraction coefficients that are smaller than those obtained in previous studies. The studied feature extraction was a DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform)-based segment averaging and Gaussian windowing. The testing of the musical instrument's tone recognition system was carried out using pianica, tenor recorder, and bellyra musical instruments, each of which represented many, several, and one significant local peaks in the transform domain. The test results showed that the optimal number of feature extraction coefficient was 8 coefficients, which could give a recognition rate of up to 100%. The test results were achieved using a Gaussian window with a sigma value of 2-6, and a 128 points DCT.

Abstract

The sunlight that enters through the transparent glass will heat the Greenhouse Effect room, the air in the room will become hot, then the hot air naturally (air density becomes low) will rise upward following the slope of the transparent glass than through the Drying Rack while drying the corn. After passing through the Drying Rack continue to go above and out through the Turbine Ventilator, this Turbine will automatically move due to the pressure of the hot air coming out, and the turbine will rotate continuously if air temperature  is inside in the drying room larger than the outside air, and if there is wind speed around the Ventilator Turbine. The results of this study obtained a drying rate of 3.77 grams / minute and the efficiency of the corn drying equipment system was 52%, to use a Turbine Ventilator, whereas without using a Turbine Ventilator, the drying rate was 4.23 grams / minute and the efficiency was 32%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is an expert system to diagnose diseases on web-based rice plants that can make it easy for farmers to get knowledge about rice diseases and how to handle them. Pagar Alam is a mountainous area, the majority of which are farmers. Data obtained from the Department of Agriculture of the City of Pagaralam stated that there were several types of rice planted in the Pagar Alam area, including Situbagendit, IR 64, Padi TS, Inpara 1-8, but most Cierang rice species were planted in the Pagar Alam area. It is not impossible for farmers to experience a yield setback, even to the point of crop failure due to lack of knowledge about the diseases that attack their rice plants. The system development method used is Rapid Application Development (RAD). Therefore, the researchers made an application of a Web-Based Expert System for Rice Disease Diagnosis to Improve the Welfare of Farmers in Pagar Alam City. With the application of an expert system, it can provide information on plant disease pests and can diagnose the symptoms of plant diseases, especially rice plants, as well as provide a solution to overcome them, which can later be used to reduce or reduce the risk of crop damage. The results of the study are in the form of an expert system for diagnosing diseases in web-based rice plants

Abstract

Estimated damage levels from ballistic impact zones provide valuable information to make bulletproof materials more effective. This study aims to determine the impact of ballistics including deformation and energy absorption in fiber metal laminates (FMLs) that collide with 9 mm FMJ caliber bullets at speeds of 426 m/s. Finite element method modeling is done using ANSYS 18.1 workbench software. The simulation results show that FMLs can hold the bullet rate with deformation on the back of the target (DOPIII) of 8,55 mm and total energy absorption of 426,59 J at 0,000095 s. The combination of two materials, Al 5083 in the outer layer and kevlar/epoxy as the core, results in faster energy absorption and maximum stress concentrations only occur in the kevlar/epoxy so there is no damage to the first and subsequent layers.

Abstract

Smarthome is made to help relieve human work in the field of automation in residential environments. The purpose of this system is to control the lamps, curtains, and fence doors, which are equipped with the HMI (Human Machine Interface) to display the process in real time. The system of this smarthome is made using Schneider TM221CE24R PLC as a controller. This smarthome controls the lamp with five different lighting brightness conditions by using a UV (Ultraviolet) sensor, controlling the open and close fence doors using the PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor, and controlling the curtains with three different conditions (open full, half closed, full lid) with the LDR sensor. The control of these Smarthome objects is displayed in an HMI (Human Machine Interface). The Operator can monitor the objects that are currently working through the HMI view. Through the testing stage of the tool, there is a conclusion that this smarthome can control objects well.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is one of the companies engaged in the production of motorcycle spare parts. In carrying out its operational activities, PT. XYZ has a procurement process. Generally in applying of good procurement, employees must submit a document submission of goods in the printed form and must meet their supervisor directly to ask for approval in a signature. This condition requires quite a long time until the submission document reaches the Director because they have to wait for the signature of each related section. That is quite an obstacle for the employee who submits because the longer the approval process, the longer the procurement process. To overcome this obstacle, a good procurement information system web based was built using phased development methodology. The information system uses SQL Server as database and ASP.Net as programming language. Good procurement information system web-based can accelerate the procurement process.

Abstract

Welding technique is one of the process connection metal in the manufacturing industry. Aluminum alloys have several advantages including: light, good electrical and corrosion resistant properties. Welding application of  dissimilar aluminum alloys with the  5083 and 6061-T6 series such as building structures, bridges, railroad frames, ships and oil platforms. The joining of dissimilar aluminum alloys by welding technique is difficult because the metal has different thermophysis properties. The study aimed of this research to analyze the mechanical properties of variation welding current on joint area GTAW. Visual observation shows that the joint specimen with the low current (100 A) has low penetration in welding groove, whereas at the high current (140 A) undercut occurs on the side of the weld seam, there are spatter and deposits (excessive added material). The hardness test with the current 120 A shows the regular distribution and has the highest tensile test of 201 MPa.
