Abstract

Person Fiction (RPF) is a subset of fanfiction whose characters are adapted from public figures which then written based on the assumptions of their fans. RPF is one of the most popular phenomenon of fan cultures, especially among the K-Pop community. While virtually harmless, RPF unknowingly has a risk of constructing false reality on the concept of idols for its readers, which then can generate deviant values or even crimes in the long run. The concept of hyperreality is able to provide insight on how deviant fans is created while constitutive criminology tries to consider the human agents to prevent the amplifying effects that will occur if these negative values of fan culture get normalized.

Abstract

Pencurian data merupakan salah satu bentuk kejahatan yang menjadi isu hangat belakangan ini. Pencurian data yang dahulu dilakukan secara konvensional kini dapat dilakukan dengan lebih mudah melalui bantuan medium computer dan internet. Tulisan ini ingin membahas tentang isu cyber related crime yaitu pencurian data digital yang dilakukan oleh perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang fintech, khususnya pinjaman daring ilegal. Mereka akan menyalahgunakan data pribadi milik debitor yang akan memberikan kerugian bagi debitor tersebut. Tulisan ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan mengambil data dari berbagai sumber berita yang ada di internet.Kata kunci: Kejahatan, cyber crime, cyber related crime, pencurian data digital, pinjaman online illegal.

Abstract

AbstractThe discussion in this paper focuses on looking at data related to fake news and hoaxes that statistically continue to rise in the digital space of society. The analysis carried out on the deliberate making of fake news and hoaxes by certain parties provides an overview of their impact empirically and concretely on the views and paradigms of netizens or the internet community in Indonesia. The journal that is the source of the literature review is research that discusses the impact of hoaxes in different contexts, times and locations. The author uses the Neo-Routine Activity Theory which is very suitable for analyzing various types of cybercrime. The analysis that has been done concludes that fake news and hoaxes have effectively produced concrete impacts on the digital space of Indonesian society.Keywords: Fake News, Hoax, Cybercrime, Digital Space

Abstract

AbstractEviction is phenomenon that happens in city livelihood related to city and human life development. In practice, eviction could lead to conflicts and social injury in which it causes reactions from the victims. CAP 16 Kampung is one of the reactions, in which the victims started a coalition to demand their participation in city development. CAP 16 Kampung process that involves dialogs and participatory actions are in line with Peacemaking Criminology perspective. From Peacemaking Criminology approach, CAP 16 Kampung in the evicted Kampung Akuarium fares much better due the already existing empathy and their affirmation actions about their shared fate as evicted victims. The other kampung, Kampung Muara Baru that yet to be evicted doesn’t have the same degree of success because they didn’t share the same threat as Akuarium did and there is no solid affirmation from them due the lacks of empathy being built.Keywords: Forced Eviction, Social Injury, Social Movement, Peacemaking Criminology, CAP 16 Kampung

Abstract

AbstrakMakalah ini membahas penjarahan dan kekerasan domestik yang muncul pasca bencana Gempa Bumi dan Tsunami Sulawesi 2018 yang melanda kota Palu, Donggala, dan sekitarnya. Pasca bencana, jumlah kasus penjarahan dan kekerasan domestik muncul dan meningkat di daerah terdampak bencana. Bencana memberikan dampak negatif pada masyarakat dan individu yang menjadi korban. General Strain Theory digunakan dalam tulisan ini untuk melihat bagaimana sumber-sumber ketegangan muncul dari dampak negatif bencana dan mempengaruhi perilaku dan tindakan korban bencana. Tulisan ini menyimpulkan bahwa ketegangan yang dihasilkan dari bencana mendorong korban untuk melakukan kejahatan berupa penjarahan dan kekerasan domestik.Kata Kunci: Bencana alam, Penjarahan, Kekerasan Domestik, General Strain Theory

Abstract

This scientific work is created to determine whether ontologically the existence of bitcoin can be classified as crime. Bitcoin is a virtual money that was originally created to simplify the process of financial transactions through the virtual world. There are many factors influencing the rapid growing use of Bitcoin, as its exchange rates tend to always increase significantly, so Bitcoin becomes a lucrative investment tool. The rise of the use of Bitcoin as a means of financial transactions on the internet also trigger the emergence of negative reactions such as the emergence of cyber crimes, because the existence of Bitcoin simplify cyber criminals to conduct illegal activities, such as transactions of human organs, drug trafficking, the practicing of money laundering. If the phenomenon of Bitcoin is analyzed by the explanation of cyber crime based on postmodern criminology, ontologically, the use of Bitcoin as a means of illegal transactions is a crime.Keywords: Bitcoin; Cyber crime; Money-laundring; Postmodernism Criminology; Space Transition Theory.

Abstract

Ontologically, from a symbolic interactionist perspective, bitcoin can be viewed as a crime. This paper aims to explain how bitcoin viewed as a crime especially from Michalowski’s symbolic interactionism perspective. In the interactionist perspective, where society is plural and has different values from other groups, the definition of right or wrong depends on the plural and unique point of view of the community group. The difference in definition is the result of interactions and labels given by the community. Likewise, the view of crime can differ according to the interaction, definitions and labels given by society. In this case, Indonesian view bitcoin as a crime because of the perception that bitcoin is a virtual currency that is used to carry out illegal transactions.Keywords: bitcoin; crime; label; symbolic interactionism.

Abstract

The phenomenon of the 2017 DKI Jakarta Regional Head Election (Pilkada) presents a lot of friction which causes a contestation of meanings to be analyzed using a cultural criminology point of view. Having a focus on one word, namely “eviction”, cultural criminology is placed as the basis for analysis of contestation that focuses on cultural space and the influence of post-modernism. Cultural criminology also discusses how education plays a major role in shaping the discourse construction process of crime. In addition, cultural criminology also acts as an eye-opener and a bag of tricks in analyzing the discourse of crime.Keywords: Cultural criminology, media, meaning contestation
