Abstract

The problem that is often faced by crayfish cultivators at the moment is the low survival rate, especially when the seeds are also stocking density which is not known with certainty, especially during nursery activities and rearing of crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus). This research was conducted for 60 days in Sukaraja District, Seluma Regency. This study aims to determine the effect of stocking density and shelter and interactions on the survival and growth of freshwater crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus) fry. The study used a completely randomized factorial design with three replications. The first factor was stocking density consisting of A1 = 6 individuals (48/m²), A2 = 7 individuals (59/m²), and A3 = 8 individuals (68/m²). and the second factor is the shelter which consists of B1 = paralon pipe, B2 = roster stone and B3 = bamboo. If there is a significant effect, then the Duncant Multiple Range Test (DMRT) is carried out. The results showed that the stocking density treatment had a very significant effect on survival, molting percentage, absolute weight and absolute length but had no effect on feed conversion and feed efficiency, while the shelter treatment had no significant effect on all observed parameters. The interaction effect of stocking density and shelter treatment had a significant effect on absolute weight growth but had no effect on survival, moulting percentage, absolute length, feed conversion and feed efficiency. Stocking density of 6 individuals/48/m² container and paralon pipe shelters gave the best results for survival and growth of crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus).

Abstract

This study aims to explore endophytic fungi found on the leaves of healthy rubber plants and determine their antagonistic potential against Colletotrichum gloeosporioides leaf fall disease in vitro using Potato Dextrose Agar media with the Dual Culture method. Almost all parts of the rubber plant can be infected with a number of plant diseases, one of which attacks the leaves. Leaf fall disease can be detrimental because fallen leaves can cause plant growth to be inhibited, and sap or latex production will decrease and can even result in death of the plant. An alternative to controlling diseases that have attacked widely is to use biological control by exploration. Exploration is carried out to obtain beneficial biological control materials and is the first step in the implementation of biological control techniques. The research was conducted using a Non-Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD), namely by using PDA (Potato Dextrose Agar) solid media consisting of 4 replicates, as the treatment was an isolate of endophytic fungi from exploration and the isolate tested for antagonism was the Colletotrichum gloeosporioides fungus. The results of the percentage of inhibition on endophytic fungus isolates that are able to inhibit or suppress the growth of the mycelium of the C. gloeosporioides fungus with values ranging from 40% are only found in endophytic fungus isolate C (Arthobotrys Corda) in the P3 treatment with an average percentage inhibition of 40.94% which is included in the criteria for a medium percentage of inhibition.

Abstract

Increasing Arabica coffee production must start with the provision of quality, affordable and available seeds in sufficient quantities. Breeding programs generally start with establishing a basic population. Populations can be formed from germplasm that have diverse genetic makeup in an effort to assemble genetic diversity into a new type that has advantages over pre-existing types, so that in cultivating a plant commodity genetic variability or diversity is the main requirement so that breeding goals can be achieved. achieved. The purpose of this study was to inventory and determine genetic diversity in the quality traits of Bengkulu highland arabica coffee seedlings. The research was carried out from June to December 2022 in Rejang Lebong Regency. The research design used a Completely Randomized Block Design (RAKL) with the treatment of Arabica coffee genotypes from inventory (G) with 4 replications. Each genotype will be planted 10 seeds per repetition, so that each genotype is 40 seeds. Data analysis was performed using analysis of variance and estimation of the variance value. The results of the Arabica coffee inventory in this study were Bourbon, Cattura Red, Cattura Yellow, S-1934, Andungsari, M-97, M-98, Sigararutang, Kartika and USDA 230762. Genetic Variability (Kvg) narrow criteria values ??were found in almost all variables observations were on the characteristics of plant height, stem diameter, seed sturdiness, leaf greenness, stomata density, leaf weight, total dry weight, shoot dry weight, root dry weight, shoot root ratio, and seed quality index, while the Kvg value with area criteria was in find in variable a pair of leaves.

Abstract

As a maritime country, Indonesia relies heavily on the aquaculture sector, including freshwater aquaculture. Freshwater aquaculture has been widely practised in the aquaculture of nila tilapia fish (Oreochromis niloticus). The obstacle that often arises in nila tilapia fish culture is the low growth of fish. Factors that cause low fish growth are the low ability of fish to digest the feed given. The papain enzyme can be used as a protein catalyst in feed, increasing growth rates and reducing production costs. This study was conducted from November to December 2022 at the Seberang Ulu 1 District, Palembang, South Sumatra. This study used an experimental method with treatment P0 being the control (without adding the papain enzyme) and P1 being the treatment with adding the papain enzyme at a dose of 2.25%. The P1 treatment produced the highest results: the absolute length growth of 3.49 cm, the absolute weight of tilapia of 9.8 g, feed efficiency of 98.30% and survival of 88.80%.

Abstract

The cultivation of dumbo catfish (Clarias gariepinus) has great potential to be a profitable business as long as farmers can overcome obstacles such as odors in ponds and fish. Maintenance ponds that are not paid enough attention to make the aroma of the resulting dumbo catfish slime stronger. In overcoming this problem, we need a material that can reduce the odor in dumbo catfish. One natural ingredient that can improve water quality and reduce odor in catfish is by mixing chitosan in the feed. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of chitosan in removing odors and to determine the best dose of chitosan for eliminating odors in dumbo catfish. This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD). The treatments used were (P0 = without chitosan; P1 = 2% chitosan; P2 = 4% chitosan; P3 = 6% chitosan, with 3 repetitions for each treatment). Parameters observed included organoleptic tests including aroma, texture, and taste to determine the effect of chitosan on dumbo catfish meat. The results of the study showed that the addition of chitosan to feed had a significant effect on eliminating odors in the organoleptic (aroma, texture, taste) of African catfish. The best dose of chitosan to remove odor in dumbo catfish (Clarias gariepinus) is at P2 (dose 4%) and P3 (6%).
